Peace & Comfort

https://cas-ualfridaysstamps.com/products

A new challenge is up at Less Is More with a color theme of red, raspberry and grey. Our sponsor for March is CAS-ual Friday Stamps.

For my card, I stamped an image from CAS-ual Friday's Casual Comfort stamp set and 2 shades of Altenew inks. I stamped the sentiment in grey from the same set and die cut that panel with Spellbinders Hemstitch Rectangles. I backed that rectangle with a piece of grey card stock and mounted the smaller rectangle to a card base.

Please head over to the Less Is More Blog and see what the Design Team has created for your inspiration. I hope you'll play along with us to share your creations and for a chance to win. Remember to keep your design Clean And Simple.

To be eligible for showCASe and PRIZE WINNER choices you will need to carefully follow the guidance on our GLOSSARY OF TERMS and our HOW TO PLAY pages. Your design should feature lots of clean / white / blank / non patterned / non textured space. All challenge details are on the Less Is More blog. Good Luck!

Grieving With You

I was looking through my list of challenge blogs today, and saw the colors for CAS On Friday.
I love them, and immediately went to work using other inspiration from other challenges to create this sympathy card. I completed the card, and then it hit me! By my definition, the card I created is NOT a CAS card. Too much patterned space! Ugh. Still, I really love the way it turned out and though I am not entering it in the CAS On Friday challenge, there is plenty of inspiration from other places where it fits.

Supplies:
Paper: Neenah Solar White 110# and 80#, Patterned paper that came as a gift in a stamp order.
Stamps: Altenew Flower Arrangement
Ink: VersaFine Onyx Black, PTI Aqua Mist, Hawaiian Shores, Ocean Tides, Lemon Tart, Harvest Gold.
Accessories: Altenew Flower Arrangement Dies, MFT Stitched Scallop Basic Edge Dies.

With Heartfelt Sympathy

It's time for a new challenge at Less Is More. We are challenged to use subtle colors.

Challenge #393 - Subtle Colours

Our sponsor is Sevin Hills Crafts.
https://sevenhillscrafts.co.uk/

Guest Designer:
Milla - February Winner

I needed a sympathy card this week, so I decided to create my challenge card with butterflies using Paper Smooches Graceful Beauties. I just used three different butterfly images in soft shades on the left side of the card, and added the sentiment. Very simple, but it seemed very fitting for the person it is going to.

Please had on over to the Less Is More Blog, see what Milla and the Design Team have created for your inspiration, and play with us! I can't wait to see what you create!

Two-Fer Three Challenges

So, in case you haven't heard, there is a brilliant new challenge out there that started on January 10 - Twofer Card Challenge. It's the brainchild of Darnell Krauss of djkardcreations.com. I love the way Darnell's brain works, and this awesome idea is so Darnell. The Design Team is loaded with awesomeness, and the idea is to use the same stamps/dies to come up with two totally different cards. It is meant to really challenge yourself to increase your creativity, stretch your brain, your stamps, your dies, and to increase your stash of cards. FANTASTIC!!!!

I work in a Pre-K through 8 school as a librarian. I am so often frustrated  by the lack of ability in children of all ages to follow directions. Well, guess what - I did not follow directions here and I am  truly humbled. The thing I didn't do (because I skimmed the directions because I wanted to get to creating), was use a different style for the second card.  I stamped, embossed and die cut a bunch of the same elements, and made 2 cards. I should have read more carefully, but that 's OK. I know now, and I am submitting my cards anyway! I LOVE them. I used two other challenges to create my Two-fer. I used the colors for Color Throwdown ctd476 (I LOVE these colors), and I used the CAS(E) this sketch #255 for the layout. I flipped it for one, and not the other.

I am SO excited about this challenge. I'm screaming in at the end, but I hope to play it a lot. Darnell, I promise I will follow the directions next time, and I will be nicer to my students who don't follow directions.

This card was inspired by Color Throwdown 476 colors, and the CTS Sketch.

This card was inspired by the Color Throwdown Colors for CTD476.
I also flipped the CAS(E) This Sketch #255 to the left side for this one.

With Sympathy

Challenge #95 is now up and running at Time Out Challenges. The theme is Sympathy with an optional twist of a distressing technique which could be using Distress Inks, distressing edges, paper tearing, etc. The challenge runs from October 26, 2017 until November 8, 2017 at noon EST/5:00pm BST.

Happy Little Stampers is the Challenge Sponsor. A $15.00 gift voucher will be awarded to a randomly selected winner chosen from those entrants who twist.

Sue of Sue's Card Craft is our Guest Designer. Her style is wonderful and you are sure to be inspired.

My card was created from a snippet of Distress Oxide Ink blended background sprayed with Shimmer Mist. The silhouette image from Taylored Expressions Discover Your Wings is stamped in VersaFine Onyx Black. The sentiment is from Reverse Confetti's Forever in Our Hearts.

Please head over to the Time Out Challenge Blog and see what Sue and the Design Team have created for your inspiration. Do the Twist for a chance to win a gift voucher to the HLS Store! I can't wait to see what you come up with!

With Sympathy

This gorgeous set of dies from STAMPlorations (CUTplorations Flutter Zen 1) is so perfect for so many things. Sadly, I am in need of a sympathy card for a friend who lost her son. The colors are inspired by this week's Less Is More Challenge. The gray and the yellow are a wonderful juxtaposition that makes me think of the feelings of sadness and hope. This seems to be very fitting for a situation in which there are just no words...

Hope, Friends, Love

Oh I have missed playing challenges while I was away.  This creation is a combination of two challenges -  Less is More which is a recipe challenge - Ribbon(s) or Button(s)  and Play Date Cafe which is a color inspiration : Coral, Petal Pink and Antique Gold. I love the beauty of these colors together.

My dear friend lost her mother this morning, and I wanted to make her a very special card.  This simple card took me many tries, but I am satisfied with it in the end.  The image and sentiment are from PTI's With Sympathy.  I used PTI's Half & Half with matching Die for the background and the die cut piece that holds the sentiment.  The ribbon is from a long retired assortment from SU.  I added a butterfly with 2 tiny pearls above the sentiment.  It feels so good to rev up my inner LIMette and to play the Play Date Cafe challenge again.  Thanks so much for stopping by!

May Hope Sustain You...

I am pretty excited about this card.  I made it for the Less Is More Week 10 one layer challenge with the focus on the sentiment.  I knew right away that I would use one of Provocraft's gorgeous frame EF's and a Verve sentiment from Forever in Our Hearts.  I thought it would be easy peasy since I immediately had something in mind.  Well, I was mistaken! Holy smoke! This card is so simple to look at, yet it took me 10 tries and a lot of fussing to come up with the final version.  I tried all sorts of things like rubbing ink over the dry embossing, using different colors of ink on the sentiment, embossing the sentiment, not, all different colors and arrangements of the half pearls, Glimmer Mist/no Glimmer Mist...  Whew!!!  I really loved this challenge though, and I feel right at home with Chrissie, Mandi and The LIMettes over at the Less is More Challenge Blog.  What a warm, welcoming and encouraging bunch of artists.  Now that this is my second LIM challenge, I hope that I can proudly call myself a "LIMette too!"  I am trying to train myself to go simple, and this looks about as simple as it gets.  Now if I can just get the hang of getting it right a little sooner...

My ingredients are :
Stamps~Verve's Forever in Our Hearts.
Paper~Pure Luxury white card stock.
Ink~Versa Mark.
Accessories~Ranger copper embossing powder, Heat gun, Cuttlebug and EF, Kaiser self-adhesive half pearls.

Thank you for stopping in and have a wonderful day.  It was 84 and sunny here in NJ today.  Rain is on its way, but spring has sprung!  Hooray!

Butterfly Sympathy

This is what I came up with for this week's OCC Challenge, which is a wonderful sketch. I love BasicGrey's Wisteria DP, and SU's Rich Razzleberry goes so well with it. Kraft is marvelous in this combination of papers. The butterfly is from Taylored Expressions Discover Your Wings set. It is embossed in gold on Wisteria DP, cut out and popped up. I used SU's Bashful Blue 3/8" Taffeta Ribbon behind the top panel. The sentiment is from Verve's Forever in Our Hearts. I really like this way this turned out. Thanks for stopping by today.
