    Knotter

    Knotter

    Interactive designer for Celtic knots

Knotter is a highly configurable interlace designer. Interlace patterns are a kind of design historically used as a decorations in many places and by different cultures, some examples are Celtic knotworks and Islamic interlaces. Knotter aims to allow its user to design such patterns in an intuitive way and to provide easy ways to integrate the result in external general-purpose graphic software. For this purpose, designs created within Knotter can be save in a custom human-readable format and exported as Scalable Vector Graphics and in a wide number of raster image formats.

    FractalImageCompression

    FractalImageCompression

Java Fractal Image Compression based on Delaunay triangulation

Implementation of the algorithm of the paper: "Fractal image compression based on Delaunay triangulation and vector quantization" It is a Fractal compression algorithm, based on relationships between regions of the image (in this case triangles), rather than in explicitly the pixel values themselves. Bimage

Bimage allows groups to view and generate images of infinite depth

Bimage is combination of javascript and Servlet scripting meant to allow users to explore images with (near-)infinite depth. Bimage uses javascript to create the images and then save them to the database for later use. This allows users to come together to explore and generate complex, depthful images. Bimage is targeted for Google App Engine (GAE), and uses the datastore for a backend, though it should be adaptable to other backends. This project is set up for eclipse using the GAE plugin. The server-side of Bimage is not required for the javascript to function, but the saving of images will always fail (or can be disabled). Follow the link below to see Bimage in action. (Best viewed on Firefox or Chrome).

    Double Fractal with 3D Prototype

    Double Fractal with 3D Prototype

Easily creates high complex fractal images. Includes 3D prototypes.

Double Fractal was first created in the 90s and was the result of a passion for fractals and fractal math. Since then, it has grown including many unique fractals invented by its author. Some fractals were found by chance in 2001 when functions used for artificial intelligence were plotted as fractals. These new fractals were called JP Random Sets. The brilliant environment Lazarus allowed Double Fractal to be ported from Delphi and now Double Fractal can be run on Windows, Linux and MAC OS X. Fractals are infinite complex images defined by a finite definition. We find in fractals a model to understand many different sciences such as economy, health and weather. Many scientists love fractals. Double Fractal is a program that creates fast and easily high complex images. No specific knowledge is needed to use this program, it is a program that can be run just for fun. Please enjoy the better than ever Double Fractal 3 with its brand new 3D JP1 Set prototype.

    syfluid

    syfluid

Fancy interactive fluid simulation for gfx fans, VJs and demo coders

syfluid is a funny toy as well as a real simulation. It simulates a fluid or a gas in a very colorful, graphic and sometimes psychodelic way. In realtime! Drag while your right mouse button is pressed to "draw" the fluid/density field. Drag while your left mouse button is pressed to make the whole thing move, i.e. to "draw" the "forces" that you're adding to the fluid/density field. Press "r" to clear the screen and "m" to open the menu. Press "1" .. "8" to switch color presets. SPACE to pause. "s" to save a png or jpg. syfluid is written in C++ using OpenGL. Even though it is heavily performance optimized and using OpenGL Shading Language (GLSL), it is a performance hog. Use "f" to show the FPS. If they are lower than 30, then reduce the quality parameter that you find in the menu from 200 to e.g. 100. For very fast graphic cards, try 400 and above. This fluid simulation is based on on Jos Stam's paper: http://www.dgp.toronto.edu/people/stam/reality/Research/pdf/GDC03.pdf

    CloisterWalk

    CloisterWalk

Reveal fractal patterns in irrational numbers

CloisterWalk can test your favorite number or will let you choose a number from a list. Many provided numbers are known irrationals, others are still uncertain. Enter the number of steps you would like to walk and click the Go button to produce a graph. If a number does not seem interesting, try switching between the square and hexagonal grids. Can you predict what is going to happen next time you click the Go button? Can you figure out why fractal patterns emerge? Can CloisterWalk be used to test numbers for irrationality? Enjoy!

    Wallpaper Maker

Create customized spiral art for wallpapers using your own images. This version is HTML5 based - it runs on most modern browsers. Use the sliders to create just the effect you want or put it in shuffle mode for a screensaver style effect. You can also toggle the user interface on and off. Simply click/touch the camera button to save the current appearance as an image on your device. The rainbow effect requires WebGL and hardware acceleration enabled in your browser.

    Complex Renderer

    Complex Renderer

Simple renderer of complex functions including recursive

This program draws a user-defined function from complex plane to RGBA color. Currently, compiled program draws Mandelbrot set, but if you want to draw another function, you need to inherit it from 'Renderer' class in sources, pass it to 'Window' and recompile project. Including 4 versions. The first one was written with C++ and uses CPU 128-bit double. The second does the same, but was written with D language and Derelict3. The third uses GPU (GLSL shaders) to draw Mandelbrot set. It is extremely fast, but uses only 32-bit float. And finally, the fourth works on CPU, but uses arbitrary precision (OpenMP), so it hasn't limit for depth (except rendering time).
