Viking is a free/open source program to manage GPS data. You can import, plot and create tracks, routes and waypoints, show OSM, Bing Aerial and other maps, geotag images, create routes using OSRM, see real-time GPS position (not in Windows), make maps using Mapnik (not in Windows), control items, etc. It is written in mostly in C (with some C++) & the GTK+3 toolkit. JGPSTrackEdit is a tool for editing gps tracks and planning (multiple days) tours (GPS track editor). An abritary number of tracks may be opened or created, tracks may be merged. A track may be splitted, reversed or edited (e.g. compressed and corrected). Points may be inserted or appended to a track (routing supported) or may be moved or deleted from a track. Maps of several providers are available, the default map is OpenStreetMap. Currently supported track formats: Garmin gpx route, Garmin gpx track, Garmin tcx, kml and plain txt. JGPSTrackEdit my also be used to download tile images for later offline use by smartphone apps. JGPSTrackEdit is written in the java language. A program for cropping GPX track files. The GUI plots the GPX track (latitude vs longitude) and lets the user remove GPS points from the beginning and end of the track respectively. There is also a built-in Command Line Interface. Note: No development anymore since I found out that GpsPrune does all the things I was looking for.

User data exported from later model Garmin GPSmap marine GPS sets consists of ADM files written to a VFAT-formatted SD card. This data includes user-generated waypoints and routes, and recorded GPS tracks. adm2gpx converts this data to industry-standard GPX records that may be imported into third-party mapping and GPS software.

A small server-side application is dedicated to provide TCP-packets response and basic logging functionality from operating low cost commercially available GPS Vehicle Trackers such as Concox GT06N and perhaps others (GT06E and GT06F). Karto allows to calibrate a scanned map (or aerial photos) with some known geo-points (Lambert, UTM, ...). After that, you can add any points (GPS points) in the map to build your own map. You can also add a transparent GIF image in the map after calibration (cave, mines, roads, ...). You can realize your own cartes with the data you add inside adding/showing/hiding layers of data. You can import/export your data files (after checking and correcting them) in differents formats.
