Open Source Java Interpreters

Blocks is a block-oriented graphical programming language. Programming is simply a matter of dragging and dropping blocks. Blocks can be used as an education language, as an extension language for Java applications or as an autonomous script language.

CJam is a stack-oriented programming language heavily inspired from GolfScript and suitable for code golfing. It is an interpreted language, and the official interpreter is written in java.

Emulator of the ancient 8 bit microprocessor ISP-8A 500D/600D or more common "SC/MP" from National Semiconductor. The download contains all sources plus an executable Java Jar file to start right away. Some SC/MP hex dump examples are provided in directory "/etc" as well. The download also contains unit tests and some helping documentation (also in /etc). You may slow down the CPU operations, displaying the CPUs status register as LEDs, to watch the CPU working with its registers. The emulator also contains a VDU (video display unit) output / ASCII input simulation. There are some demos in /etc. And have a look to the NIBL / TINY BASIC interpreter in the TINYBASIC folder, most of the code is over 40 years old. Have fun, Theo Heinrichs

MScheme is a Scheme interpreter implemented in Java. The project goals are to fully comply with the "Revised^5 Report on Scheme" and a clean and modular design.

lightJacc is a small but strong grammar parser generator. It adopts a parsing strategy of its own: dynamic concurrent parsing -- which made it much stronger than LR or LL family CCs (YACC, ANTLR, etc), but still keep good performance.

P4D is a lowpolygon 3D editor and a game environment. With the editor you can modify bonebased 3D models, animations and textures. The game environment (which is also used by the editor) provides simple script-, physic-, particle- engines.

Simple V converts FHX files created by the Delta V programming laguage into easily readable charts. Allows reviewing of code without havaing the Delta V ide installed.

ADeLa is a scripting language with a python-like syntax, designed for easy embedding into java applications to drive all or part of the application logic. ADeLa scripts run in a sandbox into which only the desired functionality is exported.

ActivityScript takes an activity diagram (created with a UML tool) and executes it's contents. The content of Activity boxes are executed, the Guards of a Decision box are evaluated to control program flow and Fork boxes initiate new threads.

Simple to use expression engine supporting an own expression language, including parser and expression evaluation.

BigNumbers provides the tools to make (normally unreadable) BigDecimal calculations in Java easy. It allows you to express decimal calculations in a friendly way; BigNumbers will in turn take your expressions and turn them into BigDecimal calculations.

CDCL (Cascading Disclosure-Control Language) is a simple, transparent, high-confidence mechanism for declaring rules of disclosure. It is a language and framework built expressly for item-level disclosure control.

Cigol (logic, spelled backwards) is a deductive logic solver. It can be embedded inside a parent program or used from the command line. It has absolutely no relationship to Tom Mitchell's book on Machine Learning.

The Cocoon Adaption Kit is a NetKernel module which enables the use of Cocoon Components (Generators, Transformers, Serializer, Actions) from within the NetKernel XML Application Server.

Metaprogramming: proof of the concept.

DSQL ("Dynamic" SQL) is a scripting language for SQL, aka Perl for JDBC. It allows rapid development of code to perform database programming, data warehousing and import/export from databases, XML, Excel, etc.

Eclipse plugin for Prototyping Visual Interpreters and Debuggers for Domain-specific Languages.

Extensible language for portable parallelism. Any visual element may be used to extend program syntax and a re-writing rule defined for it. Syntactic elements have properties attached, enabling symbolic manipulation to specialize to hardware.

Erc is an interpreted link-oriented language. Majic is a java-based interpreter for Erc, and Majicc is a c++ based compiler for Erc which uses the Majic libraries.

EsoIDE will be a collection of various esoteric programming language interpreters sharing a common front-end GUI/debugger. Current languages with interpreters under development or planned for development include Brainf**k (implemented), Befunge-93, Chef, and Fractran. Want to contribute an interpreter or UI ideas? Fido is a library of Java classes that accept natural language (ie English) commands. The system uses a database of hierarchial objects to determine what actions to take. Currently, Fido accepts English command to control EJBs or Web Services

FlameCalc is an RPN caclulator by the good folks at the Flame Design Group. It is written in Java with the intent to remain GCJ compatible and eventually evolve into a useful RPN language. HTTP-loaded scripts and Java plugins are supported.
