Ultrashort Pulse Propagator
A powerful simulation for designing femtosecond lasers and amplifiers.
This is a simulation package developed for numerical simulation of ultrashort pulse propagation in optical media and pulse generation from mode-locked lasers. Although the code is primarily intended for investigations of fiber links, fiber amplifiers and fiber lasers, it can be applied to any other setting for which the governing equiations are valid. The physics included in the code is based on a generalized nonlinear Schrödinger equation, including higher order dispersion, stimulated Raman effect, gain with bandwidth limitation and saturation, loss, and saturable absorption. OARS Android IMU & GPS Data Logger
OARS - Orientational Awareness Reaction Systems
The OARS app is a data logger developed to run on Android OS and devices containing an internal GPS ,along with micro-electro-mechanical systems (MEMS) chipset. Specifically the Invensence MPU-6000 or newer. This chip is a highly accurate inertial measurement unit, or (IMU). Contained within this small IMU is a 3-axis Accelerometer, 3-axis Gyro, and 3-axis Magnetometer. Along with a built in processor, it can calculate movements along 9-axis. Depending on platform and app setting, OARS can record sensor values at a rate up to 100hz, or 100 positions per second. GPS data such as Longitude, Latitude, Direction, Speed, and Elevation, are also logged at approximately 1hz, or 1 update per second. Giving you the ability to precisely map an equipped objects location, orientation, and rate of movement along any plane with extreme accuracy. -

An Efficient Binary data Format
EBF, which stands for Efficient Binary Format, is a binary file format for reading and writing binary data easily. Reading writing routines are currently available in C,C++,Fortran,Java, Python, IDL, MATLAB. A program called ebftkpy which has a set of utility functions to work with the .ebf files , e.g., viewing the contents and getting a summary, is also provided. The EBF specification is designed to be concise and easy to understand to make it easier for others to write their own code if needed. It is also designed to simplify the programming of input output routines in different programming languages. In a nutshell an EBF file is a collection of data objects. Each data object is specified by a unique name and a single file can have multiple data objects. Each data object is preceded by a meta-data or header which describes the binary data associated with it. Among other things, this header allows the files to be portable across systems with different endianess. -

Speedy Composer
Speedy Composer – Artificial Neural Network Melody Composer.
Thank you for your interest in Speedy Composer. Speedy Composer is an automated application for composing melodies for Speedy Net members. We recently made changes to the source code of Speedy Net, and converted it into the Python language and Django framework. Since Speedy Composer was originally written in PHP, it is not adapted to work with Speedy Net in its current form. So unfortunately we were forced to temporarily close the app Speedy Composer. But don't worry, we kept backups of all the tunes composed by Speedy Composer, and when the website is reopened we will upload them to the new site. Speedy Composer and Speedy Net are open source applications, free software. We are currently looking for volunteers to help us convert Speedy Composer to Python. Glycosylation Network Analysis Toolbox (GNAT)
GNAT is an open source, platform-independent MATLAB based toolbox. It is written in MATLAB and Java. It has been tested in Windows (Windows 7), Linux (Ubuntu), and Mac OS (X Lion) platforms. The original GNAT package (file GNAT.zip) provides functions for reading, writing, manipulation, visualization and simulation of glycan structures and glycosylation reaction networks (citation [1]). The second version of this software (GNATv2beta.zip) upgrades the original GNAT program with additional features that are geared towards incorporating glycan-structure experimental data into the simulation environment.
