DeepMind Lab provides a suite of challenging 3D navigation and puzzle-solving tasks for learning agents. Its primary purpose is to act as a testbed for research in artificial intelligence, especially deep reinforcement learning. If you use DeepMind Lab in your research and would like to cite the DeepMind Lab environment, we suggest you cite the DeepMind Lab paper. To enable compiler optimizations, pass the flag --compilation_mode=opt, or -c opt for short, to each bazel build, bazel test and bazel run command. The flag is omitted from the examples here for brevity, but it should be used for real training and evaluation where performance matters. DeepMind Lab ships with an example random agent in python/random_agent.py which can be used as a starting point for implementing a learning agent.

    Creation and Detection of Customized Fiducial Markers

    Fiducial markers such as QR codes, ArUco, and AprilTag have become very popular tools for labeling and camera positioning. They are robust and easy to detect, even in devices with low computing power. However, their industrial appearance deters their use in scenarios where an attractive and visually appealing look is required. In these cases, it would be preferable to use customized markers showing, for instance, a company logo. This work proposes a novel method to design, detect, and track customizable fiducial markers. Our work allows creating markers templates imposing few restrictions on its design, e.g., a company logo or a picture can be used. The designer must indicate positions into the template where bits will encode a unique identifier for each marker. Then, our method will automatically create a dictionary of markers, all following the same design, but each with a unique identifier.

    Documentation, simulator, compiler, and Verilog implementation of a completely open-architecture graphics processing unit. This design is intended for academic and commercial purposes. The first step is to develop a detailed GPU simulator and compiler. The second step is to implement the GPU in synthesizable Verilog. The third step is to develop a feedback loop between the simulator and implementation, allowing power, performance, and reliability aspects of the hardware to feed back into ever more detailed and accurate simulations of a complete GPU. LICENSING Primary licensing is GPLv3. Secondary is Commercial. Commercial licensing (use incompatible with GPLv3) will be available via an elected or appointed non-profit Facilitator.     Supplemental code and dataset for the ACM CHI 2021 paper on "Proxemics and Social Interactions in an Instrumented Virtual Reality Workshop". In this research paper we instrumented Mozilla Hubs Cloud to record where participants where during the event. From there, we measured proxemic and plotted the activity along with some semi-structured interviews. Virtual environments (VEs) can create collaborative and social spaces, which are increasingly important in the face of remote work and travel reduction. Recent advances, such as more open and widely available platforms, create new possibilities to observe and analyze interaction in VEs. Using a custom instrumented build of Mozilla Hubs to measure position and orientation, we conducted an academic workshop to facilitate a range of typical workshop activities. We analyzed social interactions during a keynote, small group breakouts, and informal networking/hallway conversations.

    A C++ template library extending syntax towards mathematical notation

    ivl is a full-header template C++98 math library with convenient yet powerful syntax. It extends classic C++ syntax towards mathematical notation while making use of the language's elements like classes, structs, operators and functions. Expression written using ivl are excessively optimized. In other words, ivl allows writing simpler and more expressive statements using math-like formulas while taking care of optimizing them. ivl features arrays, tuples and custom function-like objects with left-right overloading, function pipelining and function vectorization, automatic lazy evaluation, sub-arrays and other views of a single or multidimensional arrays, stl-compatible iterators, multidimensional iterators and multithreading. ivl includes a rich set of functions and operators, including operations for image processing. Seperate modules are also included. The module ivl-lina implements a linear algebra LAPACK wrapper. The module ivl-cv integrates OpenCV into ivl.
