KIF
An iOS functional testing framework
KIF, which stands for Keep It Functional, is an iOS integration test framework. It allows for easy automation of iOS apps by leveraging the accessibility attributes that the OS makes available for those with visual disabilities. KIF builds and performs the tests using a standard XCTest testing target. Testing is conducted synchronously in the main thread (running the run loop to force the passage of time) allowing for more complex logic and composition. This also allows KIF to take advantage of the Xcode Test Navigator, command line build tools, and Bot test reports. KIF uses undocumented Apple APIs. This is true of most iOS testing frameworks, and is safe for testing purposes, but it's important that KIF does not make it into production code, as it will get your app submission denied by Apple. Follow the instructions below to ensure that KIF is configured correctly for your project. -

Apple's Xcode includes the XCTest framework, which provides assertion macros to test whether code behaves properly. XCTest assertions have a couple of drawbacks. Not enough macros. There's no easy way to assert that a string contains a particular substring, or that a number is less than or equal to another. It's hard to write asynchronous tests. XCTest forces you to write a lot of boilerplate code. Nimble addresses these concerns. Would you like to add more information to the test's failure messages? Use the description optional argument to add your own text. Nimble makes sure you don't compare two types that don't match. Tired of so much typing? With Nimble, you can use overloaded operators like == for equivalence, or > for comparisons. -

Fast, non-deadlocking parallel object cache for iOS, tvOS and OS X
PINCache is a fork of TMCache re-architected to fix issues with deadlocking caused by heavy use. It is a key/value store designed for persisting temporary objects that are expensive to reproduce, such as downloaded data or the results of slow processing. It is comprised of two self-similar stores, one in memory (PINMemoryCache) and one on disk (PINDiskCache), all backed by GCD and safe to access from multiple threads simultaneously. On iOS, PINMemoryCache will clear itself when the app receives a memory warning or goes into the background. Objects stored in PINDiskCache remain until you trim the cache yourself, either manually or by setting a byte or age limit. -

PonyDebugger
Remote network and data debugging for your native iOS app using Chrome
PonyDebugger is a remote debugging toolset. It is a client library and gateway server combination that uses Chrome Developer Tools on your browser to debug your application's network traffic and managed object contexts. To use PonyDebugger, you must implement the client in your application and connect it to the gateway server. There is currently an iOS client and the gateway server. PonyDebugger sends your application's network traffic through ponyd, PonyDebugger's proxy server. You use Inspector's Network tools to debug network traffic like how you would debug network traffic on a website in Google Chrome. PonyDebugger forwards network traffic, and does not sniff network traffic. This means that traffic sent over a secure protocol (https) is debuggable. Currently, the iOS client automatically proxies data that is sent via NSURLConnection and NSURLSession methods.
