GeeXboX uShare is a UPnP (TM) A/V Media Server. It implements the server component that provides UPnP media devices with information on available multimedia files. uShare uses the built-in http server of libupnp to stream the files to clients.

FX Player is a Web-based streaming server with a Flash iTunes-like interface. It shares your MP3 library and allow access to your tracks through the Internet. Coded in Java, FX Player run on most platforms, including Mac OS X, Windows, Linux and Unix.

Ample is an MP3 server written in C. It does not intend to support mixing, radio shows etc. Just an easy way to listen to your MP3's everywhere using the "open location" features already present in XMMS, WinAmp and Media Player.
