Life is the Music

Challenge time with the Crazy 4 challenges team.

For today's challenge, I want you to use your words. Please make the sentiment the focal point of your card. Whether you choose to use a large sentiment or maybe a die- cut some words/// whatever you decide, the words must be the focal point of your card.

For my card I have used the Sentiment stamp from Verses rubber stamps and die cut it with a spellbinders die and added the distress ink while the die was in place to create the frame. I sponged the edges of the designer paper and added the music dies from Tonic Studio.

Don't forget to check out the rest of the “Crazies” cards over on the Crazy 4 Challenges blog and also their individual blogs for more details.

CCEE1620 Four way card

Hello
It is challenge time with my friends on the CCEE stampers blog. I am continuing with this weeks challenge, I went looking for  tutorial ideas and found this one on splitcoast stampers on making a four way card.

To decorate my cards I went with Penny Black stamps and  dies from spellbinders and a MFT flourish.

Don't forget to check out the CCEE Stampers blog to see the rest of the creations the CCEE Stampers created this week. You can also see more details of their creations on their individual blogs.

CCEE1619 get well and add purple

Hi everyone,
It is challenge day with my friends on the CCEE blog, this month I am hostess and this is my challenge for this week.

According to the National calendar today is National Fibromyalgia Awareness Day
It is a chronic disease that I have, it is often called the invisible disease because you don't look ill, there is no cure but maybe some day they will be. So Please make a Get Well card and add a purple ribbon.

My images are from a Kanban clear set, I have used a copic pen to colour a white ribbon to match my card stock.

Don't forget to check out the CCEE Stampers blog to see the rest of the creations the CCEE Stampers created this week. You can also see more details of their creations on their individual blogs.

Farewell Janet

Recently I said farewell to a work colleague actually there were two girls leaving having worked together for 23 years, they decided to leave at the same time.
This card is custom made for my friend Janet's personal interests. Over the 11 years I have know her Janet has always been on some sort of diet. Her pet chickens are her pride and joy, I remember her saying once, after sharing a funny story " OMG I even sound like my chickens when I laugh" which set us off on another round of laughter. When I saw this Art Impressions stamp recently I knew I just had to make her a card.

I have used the Lorna label die from Elizabeth craft designs to make the centre of the card popup. The inside has another Art Impressions chicken stamp and text. I have also add some felt clouds.

My sentiment was computer generated and matted using the Katie label die. The chicken wire is a mft die cut onto double sided adhesive sheet to make a sticker.

Take care

Pink and Blue Challenge

I created this card for the special sister Pink and Blue challenge on Boomerang stampers list a yahoo group for rubber stampers. For this challenge we had to create a card and add some special gift inside for our special stamping sister.
The stamp and text are from My Favorite Things, the butterfly was cut out with the corresponding die and layered onto cut with spellbinders nestabilities. I have used a Martha Stewart border punch for the edge of the verse.

Furry Christmas friends

I just love this stamp, I used to have a cat and dog but the were never good friends like this. The stamp is from Stampavie Laurence Collection and I have coloured it with copic pens.
The base card is a Sizzix Fancy Flip it die .While sizzix do make a insert die to match it is still on my wish list but what I did have was the spellbinders nestabilities label one and scalloped label one and the are a pretty close match.
Here is the card flipped open.
The borders down the side are MFT die-namics oval chain.

Bea's Birthday

Today I thought I would share with you a card that my Daughter made while she was in hospital { notice the bed sheet background} finally she felt well enough to make a card for her friends little sister. I had all the elements cut out and she just coloured and assembled it, not bad for her first attempt at copic pens.
Supplies
Stamps: The cat's pajamas
Other: card stock, designer paper, copic pens, nestabilities, ribbon.

Black and gold cheers

This card was created for a Goddess Party, while this isn't a goddess stamp I don't think you can go wrong using a MFT A'la mode stamp.
I tried something new for this card I wanted to use  nestabling. Nestabling is self adhesive bling desgined to coordinate with spellbinder nestabilities. The image is better suited to a round die but I only had gold nestabling in oval so I stamped the image and cut around the legs and positioned the oval nestability die so that it would cut off the legs. The dress and the shoes were coloured with twinkletts glitter pen the colour matched perfectly with DCWV glitter card.

This is also the first time I have used two ribbons for the bow it is so easy to make bows using a bow maker. The cream designer paper is from chatter box artsy.licious collection

Paint Chip Gift Card Holder

My daughter's friend just got married this is what I made to hold the gift card. The young couple just purchased a house, my daughter came home from the hardware store with a gift card, a paint brush and some sample paint chips and asked Mum can you make something with this here is what I came up with.
I cut the large paint chip samples smaller keeping the paint names in the corner and layered them along with spellbinder die hearts and punched letters.
I scored the card to make a folder and attached the paint brush so it wouldn't fall out. Then using a black panel with punched edges I created a pocket for the gift card. And finished it off with a bow.
Supplies
Spellbinders heart die, letter punches; paint chip samples,Martha stewart punches, ribbon, DCWV card.

Here comes the bride

This card was made for a bridal shower, in the same colours that will be in the bridal party. I used MFT die-namics perfect petal trio and cut each flower out twice, I sponged the edges, scrunched each petal several times then attached the brad in the centre and crinkled each layer. This has to be the easiest way to make paper flowers.
Supplies:
Stamps: Stampin up
Paper: DCWV green and Stampin up very vanilla
Other: sizzlits little leaves, MFT Die-namic, Fiskars border punch, grosgrain ribbon, brad, adirondack ink juniper, nestabilities oval & lacey oval.

Add a splash of colour to everyday

I have seen this sketch several times, the cards have been amazing so I thought I would give it a try. I just kept telling myself to keep it simple. I have to be one of most dissatified card makers when it comes to clean and simple cards, I just can't seem to stop adding just one more thing.

The colours I have used are for an autumn challenge, red brown and orange, although in the photo the red looks more like pink.
When I look at my card, my only thought is blah. I really don't like this it just needs something so out comes another die cut template.

Supplies
Stamps: MFT - Clearly Sentimental about art.
MFT Die-namic, square nestabilities, hot glue, red ink

Let's Celebrate 21

Hi All, I am back creating another 21st card, this time pink is the theme.
I have made a centre step card with My Favorite things A'la mode Cheers stamp as the focal point. I used copic pens to colour the image, I also used the same copic pen to colour a white ribbon pink, this is great if you have trouble matching colours. The copic ink actually make the ribbon alittle stiff when it dries, so the bow keeps it shape really well.
Inside I used the MFT's well worn greetings die-namics
Supplies:
Stamps: MFT A'la mode
Paper: papercraft designer paper, white and pink card
Other: ribbon, copic pens, spellbinder nestabilities, MFT die-namics, gem stones

I had so much fun creating this card after watching the video tutorial on Dawns Stamping Studio
The front stamp is from Magenta. I made the flower using the spellbinders poinsetta die, I placed pearls in the centre and on the bottom corner.
The ovals were cutout using nestabilites oval dies.
the stamp inside is from papermania.

New house

Todays card is something different from xmas cards for a change, but I really need to get back to Christmas cards as I am so far behind. This card was requested by my daughter for a friend who has moved into a new house.
I just love these cute critters from Penny Black, they seem to suit any occasion. My sketch layout out is from splitcoast stampers SCS361. The text was computer generated and that along with the image were cut out with nestabilities, the edges were then sponged for a softer effect. Pearls and gems were added for some bling.

Spring Flowers

Today I am sharing a card with you that I made for the Boomerang Stampers List COTM Spring theme, I showed you my other entry yesterday. I was in total shock when I recieved an email to say that I had won, my card now graces the home page for the month of September.
I used the Penny Black stamp and coloured it with copics adding twinklette pen to the flower centres, then framed the image using spellbinders nestabilities. The flower was made with mft die-namics upsy-daisy die and finished with a button brad. The swirls are decorative swirls 3 from sizzix and the Designer paper is DCWV Citrus. I also used flower ribbon and paper piercing tool and mat around the top edges.

Just living

I created this card so time ago but I have only just taken the photo, the challenge on CCEE was to used wood,CCEE1041. The sketch was from splitcoast stampers SSSC71. I used the sizzix embossing folder designed by Tim Holtz called Woodgrain and used a sponge block to add colour. The flower and dragonfly was stamped with adirondack ink and the words over stamped with black ink, it was then cut out with nestabilities circle, I then sponged the edges andused a destresser tool on the edges. I am not totally sure this technique is for me. A large brad was used for the centre of the fabric flowers.
Supplies:
Stamps:Lucy's stamps flower set 1942LQ
Paper: close to cocoa, pumpkin, cream
Other: nestabilities, tim holtz destresser tool, sizzix embossing folder, sponging block, adrondack inks - Latte, peach bellini, mountain rose, butterscotch, terracotta, black, ribbon, brad, flowers

Have a great day.
