🌸 Spring Into Cards: New ATC-Size Focal Points with Maria! 🌸

Hello, STAMPfriends! Today, we are exploring how to use our small-format papers to make a massive impact on full-sized card designs. The talented Maria is here with three stunning cards featuring our brand-new spring-themed ATC packs: Color Me Spring and Retro Femme!

Let’s see how Maria worked her magic:

1️⃣ VIBRANT FLUTTER ZEN 🦋✨
For her first project, Maria used a beautiful butterfly focal image from the Color Me Spring pack. To create a bold, graphic background for her full-sized card, she die-cut several butterflies from black cardstock. These die-cuts add incredible dimension and movement behind the colorful butterfly. 🦋👏

2️⃣ GROOVY RETRO BIRTHDAY 🕶️🌼
Maria’s second card is a burst of cheerful, retro energy! She featured a stylish figure in yellow sunglasses from the Retro Femme pack as her main focal point. To build out the rest of the card base, she stamped coordinating floral outlines and a "Have a Groovy Birthday" sentiment using the Groovy Shoes stamp set. The bright orange accents perfectly complement the vintage vibe! 🕶️👌

3️⃣ RUSTIC BIRDHOUSE SANCTUARY 🐦🏠
For her third card, Maria created a cozy, layered scene. She started with the birdhouse image from the Color Me Spring pack. For her background texture, she stamped the rustic birdhouse. To give the card a professional, finished look, she used the crazy double running stitch die to create the stitched panels. 🐦🏠👌

⚙️ Urban Edge & Artistic Flair: Maria Creates 3 Cards with Analog Grunge 🐦🎨

Who says grunge can't be gorgeous? Maria is here to show us that a little "grit" goes a long way! 🙌 Using the textures of the Analog Grunge collage paper pack, she has created three cards that perfectly blend industrial patterns with whimsical design. 🏗️✨

By pairing these edgy papers with STAMPlorations dies and stamps, Maria has created a look that is modern, bold, and totally unique. Let’s take a look.

The Perched Bird & Wonky Stitches 🐦🧵
In this first card, Maria tore strips from Analog Grunge to to create a stunning backdrop. To give it that signature "shabby" look, she used our crazy double running stitch die for the mat—the irregular stitching is the perfect partner for a grungy background! 🏚️ Finished with the perched bird die-cut, this card feels like a beautiful moment found in an urban garden. 🌿✨

High Fashion Grunge: The CityGirl Skirt 👗🏙️
This is such a clever use of paper! Maria took strips of the Analog Grunge and layered them to create a textured, pleated skirt for her CityGirl. 👠 It’s a literal "paper fashion" moment! Maria created a card that is sassy, stylish, and full of texture. 💋✨

Sleek Lines & Skinny Sentiments 📏🖤
For her final card, Maria shows off how Analog Grunge can work in a clean and simple (CAS) layout. ⬜ By using strips of the collage paper as the background, she lets the weathered patterns do the heavy lifting. The addition of the skinny sentiment adds a touch of elegance and modern minimalism that ties the whole "grunge" look together beautifully. ✨🙌

🌟 Ready to add some edge to your art? 🌟

If you love these urban textures and "gritty" patterns, grab yourself a pack of Analog Grunge -- it's now available in the store. It’s the pack for those who want to add depth, history, and a touch of street-style to their projects. 🎨📦

Vintage Vibes & Bold Strides: Exploring Analog Grunge with Maria Fischer ☕📷

If you thought our new collage papers were just for card backgrounds, Maria Fischer is here to blow your mind! This week, Maria dove into the Analog Grunge pack—the third installment in The Artistic Crafter’s Collage Paper Anthology, Vol. 1—and the results are nothing short of spectacular.

✨ Analog Grunge: The Anthology's "Cool Kid" ✨

What is Analog Grunge? 📻🎞️ It’s a gritty, gorgeous trip down memory lane. It's a curated collection of weathered newsprint, vintage tech (think cassette tapes and old-school cameras), transit tickets from Berlin to Frankfurt, and coffee-stained maps. It’s the perfect foundation for anyone looking to add a masculine, moody, or "found-object" aesthetic to their work.. It's vintage-soul-meets-industrial-edge. Forget shabby chic—this is for the crafters who love a bit of grit.

🖼️ Design Team Inspiration by Maria Fischer

Maria stepped away from the traditional A2 card and showed us how versatile these papers truly are.

🎨 Project 1: The "What If" Mixed Media Spread

Maria turns up the volume in her art journal by layering the neutral tones of Analog Grunge with explosive pops of neon orange and bold black graphics. By combining the textured newsprint of the collage paper with the primitive, sketchy vibes of the Art Marks 3 stamp set, she proves that "grunge" can be incredibly vibrant. The messy circles and jagged lines create a beautiful tension against the structured vintage maps. It’s a loud, proud reminder that sometimes the best art happens when you stop worrying and just ask, "What if it all works out?" 💥

📖 Project 2: The "Weekly Lights" Memory Spread

Think collage paper is just for cards? Think again! Maria uses the Analog Grunge pack to build a cohesive, archival-style layout in her weekly planner. Using the transit tickets and weathered ledger pieces as "containers" for her photos and journaling, she creates a vintage-modern scrapbook feel. From tracking "Oma's Hip" to highlighting her favorite reads, the neutral palette of the papers makes her colorful photos pop while giving the entire week a sophisticated, curated look. It’s storytelling with an edge. 🎞️

🌟 Why You Need Analog Grunge in Your Stash

  • The Ultimate Multi-Tasker: Designed for more than just cards! These sheets are the perfect weight for art journaling, junk journals, planner spreads, and even DIY home decor. ✂️🏠

  • Cool-Girl (and Guy!) Aesthetics: Features retro-tech motifs like 35mm cameras and cassette tapes—perfect for masculine makes or edgy, modern-vintage layouts. 📸📼

  • Instant Layering Magic: Each design acts as a pre-made "cluster," giving your projects professional depth and "found-object" texture in seconds. ✨🗺️

  • Neutral with a Soul: The sophisticated palette of sepia, charcoal, and cream makes every pop of color—from neons to pastels—absolutely sing. 🎶🎨

{Spotlight Project} Maria Revisits Scrap Strips

I'm back again this month still talking about scrap strips. This time I took some scrap paper I'd used when swiping ink pads directly onto my ink swatches. In the past I'd always stamped a solid image onto my swatches but I've decided I like the color swiped onto the swatch so I've been updating them. I have a lot of inks. A lot. All that yummy color? I just had to make something with the prettiness.

STEP 1

Gather supplies - I grabbed the swatching scrap papers with all their prettiness, a piece of scrap paper to glue them onto, a glue stick and a tag die. I also wanted to add some texture paste through a stencil onto the cardbase. The rest I figured out as I went along...

STEP 2

Tore some strips in ROYGBIV order and glued them onto my scrap paper. Notice I'd traced the die onto the scrap to give me a good idea of where to place the strips.

STEP 3

When the glue was dry I die cut the tag. TIP: Rather than throwing all of the negative piece away, I trimmed off a strip of it to adorn the inside of my card ;)
I also die cut three tags from scrap cardstock to stack before adhering the tag to my card front.

STEP 4

I snazzed up my card front with some shimmery paste through this fun stencil. I did not cover the entire front, just three random areas. TIP: Be careful not to place your stencil in the wet paste when you move it around.

Here's the finished card again. I gussied it up with a couple feather leftovers from my scrap drawer. Rainbows. Aren't they the best?

Tearing up scraps or backgrounds you've made is another great way to put them to use in your cardmaking. As always, if I inspire you to place an order in the shop, I'd love it if you used my STAMPGIRLMARIA code for an additional 20% off at no extra cost to you.

{Spotlight Project} Maria Has Die-cutting Fun With Scrap Strips

Well friends, I have a luxury problem. I get to move my crafting from my basement laundry room to DD's old bedroom. Woohoo! Daylight! But let me tell you, I am totally overwhelmed. How to make it perfect? And boy do I need to purge.

So when I find myself unable to deal with the ginormity (is that a word?) of it all, I submerge myself in little projects. One of which was tackling my bucket of scrap strips. You know the ones you cut off the bottom of a card or a background you made or a piece of PP. I had a blast just adhering those strips to a piece of scrap paper then decided to do some fun die cutting with them. Speaking of fun, have you ever listened to Carissa W. podcast? She's full of cardmaking tips and reminds us to have fun in the craft room too ;) Let's get to my card, shall we?

{Spotlight Project} Maria Uses Ephemera To Mass Produce CAS Christmas cards

Hello STAMP friends! Hope you're not sick of me and my ephemera yet. It's just such fun to let the cute pieces do the heavy lifting while you just add a little here and there. Ready for some super CAS versions? First I must apologize, the card pictured is not the card made in the tutorial. I ran out of good natural light for photos. But the concept is totally the same. Please come by my blog  for the rest of the lineup - I had 8 pieces of ephemera to use up ;) So this tutorial covers the production line approach to making these clean and simple cards. Shall we get to it?

{Spotlight Project} Maria Tries Salad Spinner Art - part 2

Hello there STAMP friends! I'm back with Part 2 of a Spotlight project for you today and it's a messy one. Did you see my last tutorial about Spin Art? Have you tried it?

A couple months ago an artist I like, Alisa Burke, posted this where she and her kid used a salad spinner to decorate little gift boxes. That stuck in the back of my mind and when I saw a salad spinner at my dollar store I decided to buy it to try out the technique.

Fun. And messy. And unique. There's no way to know what you're going to get. And no way to recreate it exactly if you get something you really like!

Here's a card I made using one of the backgrounds I made in my salad spinner.
