This month, we launched our brand‑new anniversary breakfasts at MTC. A monthly opportunity to bring colleagues together and celebrate the incredible people who have contributed to MTC’s journey over the years. One of our standout milestones this month belongs to Katy Milne, who is celebrating an amazing 15 years at MTC 🎉 When Katy first joined us, she had just completed her doctorate and was immediately struck by how hands‑on her role became from day one. At that time, the MTC campus as we know it today didn’t exist. It was just the shell of a building, with a vision of what it could one day become. Fast forward to today, and that vision has become a reality thanks to people like Katy. Our new anniversary breakfasts are all about recognising stories like hers – moments of growth, commitment, and contribution that deserve to be celebrated. Here’s to many more milestones, memories, and breakfasts together 🥐☕ #WhereProgressHappens #OneMTC #LifeAtMTC #TeamMTC

Another fantastic example of how Made Smarter UK and MTC are helping SMEs strengthen and grow their businesses through digital transformation. Watch the Hector Finch case study below...
New Case Study: Hector Finch 💡 Hector Finch, one of the UK’s leading manufacturers of decorative lighting, has taken a major step forward in modernising its factory operations with support from Made Smarter West Midlands. As the business continued to grow, its existing systems no longer provided the visibility or efficiency needed across warehouse, despatch and production. Through expert advice and a Made Smarter grant, the company has begun its digital journey by implementing an MRP system to reduce paper use, improve inventory accuracy and access real-time operational data 📊🏭 The result? - Greater control over stock - Clearer production insight - A stronger foundation for future growth 👉 Read the full case study to learn more about their journey and the impact of digital transformation: https://lnkd.in/eWMC_JCT #MadeSmarter #Manufacturing #DigitalTransformation #SmartManufacturing #MRP #ERP #UKManufacturing #Productivity #Innovation

Last week, I spent time with fellow CEOs from the High Value Manufacturing Catapult, alongside Innovate UK and the UK Ministry of Defence, to talk about the opportunities for the HVM Catapult–MOD Alliance. At its core, the Alliance is about something very practical, making it easier for UK manufacturers (particularly SMEs) to adopt advanced manufacturing technologies and play a stronger role in the defence supply chain. What struck me most in the discussion was the common understanding that capability, resilience and pace really matter right now. By better connecting innovation with manufacturing reality and doing so at scale, we will have a UK defence supply chain that is competitive and secure. The HVM Catapult has a unique role to play in that bridge, turning proven innovation into real‑world capability, de‑risking adoption, and supporting companies to grow with confidence. Good, constructive conversations and a solid foundation to build from. MTC - Manufacturing Technology Centre
