Hello, Cupcake!

Hello friends - I am DELIGHTED to report this week is going much, much better - let's hope it stays that way!  We are still having lots and lots of football practice so I'm gone from our home approximately 13 hours non-stop...INSANE and really interferes with my crafty time.  LOL  AND for some reason the kids think they need to eat!  :D

Our daughter that just started middle school made the volleyball team - yeah, her first game is this week, we're very excited...but that's ANOTHER night away from home..and yes, our son has football practice the same night, so we'll be split!  CAHHHH-RAZY I'm tellin' ya.

I made a birthday card using Jen's Sketch For You To Try (August); I got it in just under the wire - whoop!  This adorable cupcake image is from The Stamping Boutique - adorable digi images, absolutely adorable!  Doesn't that frosting look dee-lish?  It's Espresso Dimensional Pearls - always looks sooooo good...but please, don't go licking the screen!  HA!

Anyway, pretty straightforward stamping, layering, lots of dies and super fun colors!  DP is by MME, gosh I am so in love with their paper!  Lots of patterns too huh?  And L@@K; isn't this picture of the card and envie so cute?  That's the flap of the envie - cupcake image is from Papertreyink...adorable!
Thanks for stopping by; hope you have a great week!

Let's go Blog Hoppin', Everybody's Blog Hoppin'!

Oh to live in my brain and be singing along - LOL!!! WHATEVER!

Today is the Back to School blog hop for The Stamping Boutique! Have you SEEN their new store? Oh, it's scrumptious looking - go check it out, Tracey has some AMAZING new images...I'll wait while you check it out!

K, are you back? Good, let's get hopping along then. If you reached my site from Maria's blog, then you're on the right path! If not, start at Aletha's blog so you don't miss a minute of fun! I've used the cute little apple for my card; a sweet, quick and simple card - but a great thank you for a teacher this year! I paired the apple with sentiments from PTI's Teacher's Apple set; can't go wrong there!

Thanks for hopping along with us; next up is the amazingly talented Melissa!

Have a great weekend friends! Hugs, ~M.

Let It Snow!

Oh my - have your temperatures been HOT, HOT, HOT?

Free Smiley Courtesy of www.millan.net

Oh, it's been so hot here so I really like the thought of this card! LET IT SNOW! Ok, maybe no snow, but I'll take some cooler temperatures! This is a digital image from The Stamping Boutique - I just *heart* this little guy holding his sign! Isn't he so jolly looking and how 'bout those big ole shoes...keeps his little toesies warm. HA!

Think of all the messages you could put on the sign! The DP is from Basic Grey's Eskimo Kisses paper pack; I colored him up with Copics to match the non-traditional Christmas colors I chose.

Go ahead, just stop and relax for a moment and imagine some nice cool(er) temperatures! :D

Hope you have a great weekend; thanks for stopping by to see me. I truly appreciate when you take the time to pop in!! Hugs, ~M.

Sew, Sew, Sew we go!

It's time for another super fun blog hop with The Stamping Boutique - won't you join the fun? As you probably guessed, the theme is sewing and we have 3 different images to show you. I am working with Cynthia - she's making some new wings! And look, she is so prepped - thread, pin cushion, a beautiful mannequin to help mold her creation - JUST LIKE PROJECT RUNWAY! Anyone watch that show?

Hopefully you found your way to me from Lisa's blog; if not, start at the very beginning - Kym's blog; you don't want to miss ANY of these amazing creations!

I used this super cool Cynthia image and went to town paper piecing her! I paper pieced the dress she is wearing, the mannequin which holds her wings (and she's making a matching dress - LOL); and the pin cushion.

:D

Seriously, doesn't that pin cushion look just like the tomato one you can by with felt on the top?

The layout is Karen's Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge #74; simple, yet fabulous layout! Next up on the blog hop is the amazing Robin! Thanks for joining along our blog hop journey today; hope you have a great day! Hugs, ~M.

Card Patterns - Sketch 69

Today I'm participating in the Sketch Challenge for the Card Patterns Blog using a cute little image from The Stamping Boutique. I received a couple new spica glitter pens this week - my clear one was totally empty, so I was thrilled to receive my new one and just HAD to make these hearts all glittery...they NEEDED it! LOL

I printed the image on GKD 80 lb. layering card stock and colored with Copics. The DP is from Basic Grey's Bittersweet collection - one of my all-time favorite collections; don't have much left of it either!

Each square was faux stitched with SU's! Chocolate Chip marker and edged with PTI's Chamomile vintage touch ink. I added 3 baubles to each corner.

I so enjoyed coloring this wagon full of hearts, such a fun image!

Thanks for stopping by; hope you'll give the sketch a whirl, we'd love to see what you create!

Oh...and before I forget, our youngest daughter chose to participate in the Children's Challenge Corner, this pink card is hers. Nice work Kaity-bug!!

Hugs, ~M.

2 Sketches 4 You - The Stamping Boutique

This young lady is my first post for The Stamping Boutique; yeah!!! I enjoyed this challenge, it's for 2 Sketches 4 You; check out their blog, it's full of fun stuff! I used the Teen Girl Whimsy; what a great and funky image. When I showed the image to my oldest, she said "well, that looks like the 70's"; I just laughed!

I colored the image with Copics, cut out with nesties, sponged around the edges and mounted onto PTI's Dark Chocolate. The designer paper is Basic Grey's Bittersweet. I embossed the larger pink layer with the Cuttlebug Paisley folder and sponged with VersaMagic's Sahara Sand. The inside says "hey, chica"; how cute is that? Isn't it perfect for the image?

I hope you'll join us for this week's sketch from 2 Sketches 4 You; we love to have people play along! Thanks for stopping by, have a GREAT week! Hugs, ~M.

The Stamping Boutique Design Team

Greetings friends, so glad you stopped by! Here's the link to the post with a PICTURE of me (that's unheard of)! LOL

I was recently chosen for The Stamping Boutique Design Team - I cannot wait to play with their images. I chose this froggy (Pocket Patootie image - don't you LOVE that name?) right off the bat to make a b-day card for my boss; the inside says "see, you made it another year without croaking!" - LOL! I've worked with my boss for 6-7 years (I've lost track), we have a great working relationship - and I love his wife too; she's the best!!

However, I KNEW the card would ultimately end up in the trash (urgh, sinking feeling in my stomach) so I kept it extremely simple. Is that bad - anyone else out there do that? Not put all your 'bellies into it because you KNOW it's headed to File 13??

Anyway, I stamped the image and colored it with watercolor pencils & odorless mineral spirits, used a gel pen for the lures on his hat and then drew the border and stitch marks.

Quick, simple and I'm not devastated that I have all these ribbon, twine, buttons, etc. if it does find it's way to File 13! LOL

Thanks for stopping by; I appreciate you taking the time to visit! Hugs,, ~M.

W@@T, W@@T - you know what that means!

I'm going to toot my horn...but I do have some sad news to share too. :(

Anyway, I am so excited to say I have been chosen as a designer for The Stamping Boutique! Woo hoo; I cannot wait to play with their images. They have digital images which I am learning to love a lot more than I ever thought I would. Yep, I was someone that thought "phew, why purchase digital images - my ink will probably bleed, will I ever use the image more than once, etc."; well I quickly learned what "blonde" statements those were. I love digital images - here's some that I've used to date in my creations (you can click on the links to see the cards I created):

Harold & his Cake
Maltese doggies
Herby the Frog
Little Mermaid

See, I really do love these images and cannot wait to begin work!! You can check out their incredible images HERE.

If you read my last post, you know what an absolutely insane weekend we had - so very busy. But this morning before leaving for work, our daughter reported her guinea pig, Snowball, had passed away. :( I cried right along with her - she's passionate about her pets and she really, really loved Snowball. We'll have a burial ceremony tonight when dad gets home from work.

Thanks for popping in and sharing my GREAT news and a bit of sad news too. I appreciate you taking time from your busy day to visit!

Hugs, ~M.
