Why do you think it is important for your patients/clients/colleagues to be more physically active?
Promoting physical activity aids in managing long-term conditions by improving symptoms and reducing complications. Physical activity significantly benefits mental health, lowering stress, anxiety, and depression levels. It also enhances functional ability in older adults, reducing the risk of falls and injuries. Encouraging regular exercise can lead to substantial improvements in overall health and quality of life.
Why should other health professionals promote being physically active?
Health professionals should promote physical activity because it plays a critical role in preventing chronic diseases, managing long-term conditions, and improving mental health.
Leading by example can inspire patients and colleagues to adopt healthier lifestyles. Additionally, regular physical activity can reduce work-related stress, enhance overall well-being, and improve functional abilities, ultimately supporting health professionals in delivering better care and maintaining their health.
Encouraging physical activity within the healthcare community fosters a culture of wellness that benefits both practitioners and patients; plus, it's evidence-based.
