JD Vance seems to embarrass himself a lot.
Like, when Vance, a self-described "baby Catholic," recently announced his new book about his journey back to faith and slapped a Methodist church right on the front of the cover.
Or that time he, a midwesterner, tried to do a suuuuuuper funny Wisconsin accent…and it didn't exactly land.
There was that time he got booed at the Olympics.
Once, he tried to make a penis joke, for some godforsaken reason. Ew, JD.
Do you remember that Signal chat with all the national leaders discussing "war plans" using emojis? The one that they added a journalist to by accident? Yeah, well, Vance circled back to that chat later because nobody was using it to say, "This chat's kind of dead. Anything going on?" THE CRINGE!!! IT'S TAKING OVER MY BODY!!!!!!!!!!
Mind you, he hasn't even been vice president for two years. All of this happened in LESS THAN TWO YEARS!!!!
Sigh. It's hard to watch!
The dude's consistent. Which is...something, I guess. He's back at it again. "It," being embarrassing himself.
He recently spoke at a rally for Viktor Orbán, Hungary's prime minister. Before he attempted to hype up the crowd himself, he decided to phone a friend.
"I actually had a special guest that asked that I give him a phone call," Vance says, pulling his phone out. "Let's hope he actually answers, or this is gonna be very embarrassing."
He presumably calls Trump and holds the phone up to the microphone. Immediately, a message plays back, saying, "I'm sorry, the person you're trying to reach has a voicemail box that has not been set up yet."
Straight to voicemail for Vance, it seems!
This was the cringe heard around the world, based on the responses. One user wrote, "Have never seen the Universe truly hate a mothe*r**ucker like this..."
"He’s a global embarrassment."
"Lolz. The second Trump saw Vance‘s name pop up on his phone he immediately declined the call sending it straight to voicemail."
"LOL. Vance is always creating situations for himself that really cement what a fucking weirdo he is."
"I don't want him to be in office but I do want him to be in the spotlight where he can continually embarass himself. The Charisma Vacuum is too good not to be in the spotlight."
"NARRATOR: This IS very embarrassing for the VP."
"His charisma is negative. I just can't imagine him being Trump's successor."
"Why is Vance being cringe on purpose."
"is jd vance a loser? don’t worry he is sitting by the phone ready to take literally anyone’s call about it."
"What a joke."
Don't worry, he tried again. "It's ringing," he said, holding the phone to his ear this time.
Waiting!
After a moment, Vance takes the phone away from his ear and holds it up to the microphone, saying, "Hello, Mr. President, how are ya?"
So happy!
Trump replies, in a tone that some have called "annoyed," but you be the judge. Trump said, "Hi. JD, could you give me a second?"
Shocker to no one, people have a lot to say about this little interaction, as well. "this is the funniest thing ive ever seen," one tweet reads.
"JD Vance basically acknowledging he’s not charismatic and is not worth a damn without Trump."
And, finally:
"God he's such a loser."
