  • Starbucks just added five new drinks to the second half of its spring menu, including three Mango Strawberry Refreshers and two mango-topped iced tea drinks.
  • The Mango Dream was my clear favorite, thanks to its creamy coconut milk finish and easy-drinking flavor.
  • The new Iced Mango Cream Chai and Iced Mango Cream Matcha both work surprisingly well, especially if you want something fruitier than your usual order.

The mid-afternoon slump is inevitable. You’ve had lunch, maybe paused for a little gossip at the water cooler, and now you’re fading fast. There’s one obvious solution if you want to make it to 5 p.m.: a Starbucks run. And now that the coffee giant has dropped the second half of its spring menu, complete with five new bevvies, you’ve got even more reason to head over there and stay productive until EOD.

The new lineup, which officially launched Monday, April 6, includes three new Refreshers with customizable caffeine levels: the Mango Strawberry Refresher, Mango Strawberry Lemonade Refresher, and Mango Dream, which is the Mango Strawberry Refresher made with coconut milk. You can order them caffeine-free, with the standard 25 milligrams of caffeine, or as an Energy Refresher with 100 milligrams.

And that’s not all. Starbucks also added an Iced Mango Cream Chai and an Iced Mango Cream Matcha to the seasonal mix. Naturally, as the dedicated journalist I am, I ran straight to my local Starbies to try them all.

Here’s everything you need to know—and what I’m definitely ordering again.

The Refreshers

My first sip of the Mango Strawberry Refresher had me rethinking this entire category. How have I been sleeping on these? It was light, juicy, and refreshing without tipping into cloying territory. The mango balances well with the strawberries’ subtle tang, and the real fruit adds a fresher finish that keeps the drink from tasting too one-note.

The Mango Strawberry Lemonade Refresher builds on that same base, but the lemonade gives it a sweeter, brighter edge. The citrus sharpens everything just enough to make the mango and strawberry pop a little more. If the regular version is the laid-back option, this is the one I’d reach for on a hot day when I want something a little bolder.

The was my favorite of the three. The Mango Dream, which is the Strawberry Mango Refresher but with coconut milk, rounds out the trio with the creaminess of a proper beach drink. The coconut milk softens the sweet, fruity notes for an easier-to-sip experience that leaves a lasting impression. I liked all three Refreshers, but this one is the one I’d actually go back for first.

Chai fans, rise up! Chai may get most of its love in the fall and winter, but this iced mango cream version makes a good case for year-round drinking. You still get those familiar warm spices, like cinnamon and clove, but with the sweet, mango cream that lightens it up and makes it much more sippable for spring and summer.

The matcha follows a similar formula, but the pairing works even better than I expected. Its earthy flavor plays surprisingly well with the creamy mango addition, which softens some of the drink’s grassier, more bitter edges. The result is balanced and layered, without getting too sweet or too heavy.
