First, let me apologize... I couldn't work on the update for this week because someone in my family got very sick. He's doing much better now, but I am a little exhausted. (｡•́︿•̀｡)

Here comes a new challenger!!

"Kidlat ng Amang Langit" roughly translates to "Lightning of the Heavenly Father". It sounds cooler in Tagalog, so I decided to leave it at that. (´･ω･`)

A dialogue-less page. I feel so proud!

I found this old WIP in my hard drive and thought about finishing the series... Not that this is actually anything serious, but it's pretty fun to do! And with everything that's been going on lately, I need a bit of fun back into my life.

I thought I lost these files after I had submitted them to PSICOM for book 2. It was in my thumb drive all along~!


Jayjay Lopez drew these for ALAS several years ago, and book 2 was sadly never printed. (⋟﹏⋞) It makes me very sad when I think about it... I mean, he even drew each of our titles' logos! That take a lot of patience~


Maybe one day we'll be able to re-explore the possibilities ALAS has to offer, but for now... we'll have to leave them in the back burner until we get another chance! Thank you Jayjay! We love this very much~ ♡( ＾▽＾♡)

It's been a super busy week... add to that a stupid wisdom tooth that's decided to stay laying down at the back of my lower right jaw, and you got yourself a very, very irritated manga artist. (｡>﹏<｡)ﾉﾞ

On the bright side, that last panel turned out ok thanks to my mood. I've forgotten how fun shonen-style manga could be... not that I'd consider this series shonen, since it's still pretty shoujo-ish, but I'm rambling, so!

Azel here is the black wolf found in page 2, at the last panel's lower right corner. I had previously colored all background wolves with blue hues to focus on the guy with the glasses and Artemio, but since Azel has decided to take action, I used his "true" colors. It's a bit of a risk to go from all pastel to richer hues, but I wanted to emphasize that last panel.

I actually finished this last night/early this morning. But I was so sleepy that I wanted to have a second look at it before I posted it. In the end, I'm so ridiculously happy with how Artemio looks in the 2nd panel~ He looks like a strong man from the village protecting his little girl~! (♥ω♥ ) ~♪

A little description of Artemio's attire:

The Barong Tagalog, more commonly known as simply Barong (and occasionally called Baro), is an embroidered formal shirt which is considered the national dress of the Philippines. It is lightweight and worn untucked over an undershirt.

The sheer fabric of the barong is surprisingly durable. Artemio's barong is longer than usual though, and I added a belt to it, just because I wanted to stylize it.

The next page will challenge all my shonen knowledge. I haven't drawn action scenes in a while, let's hope I can pull it off. σ(≧ε≦ｏ)

Hm... honestly speaking, I'm not entirely sure where all this is going..! (」°ロ°)」 Who's driving this train wreck?! Nobody knows!!! щ(ಥдಥщ)

That being said, I need to think about what to do with the next page, so that update will probably take a while? It was fun to paint all that blood though... Artemio's blood stained barong turned out really well!

This side of Artemio... (;*△*;) I've explored it several times in the past, and yes, he really can be that violent if the need arises. Aside from protecting Lumawig, anything that involves cruelty against women and children will literally make him snap!

Ok, don't panic! o(^∀^*)o I'm not starting another webcomic! I just needed a palette cleanser from my recent failure, so I tried making more from this series- which really needs a better title!

A bit of a spoiler for those who read Celestia: Artemio is a demigod, meaning his father is an engkanto or "god" while his mother is human. Technically, he should be a prince, being his father's first born son, but since he's not of pure blood, he's considered "unclean". The human world would not accept him either because he didn't know how to hide his ears and tail when he was a child. Prince Lumawig took pity on him and allowed Artemio to live in his palace. When he came of age, Artemio became Prince Lumawig's servant and protector.

As for PomPom... ( ≧Д≦) YumYum made this really horrible back story for her, which is what inspired this webtoon! Please note that this is mostly eye candy for me, and not an official timeline for either of our series.

This page took me 3 days to finish... I don't know how webtoon artists manage to release their episodes on a weekly basis! They must be a different species altogether!

And now, back to your regular scheduled programming! (ﾉ^ヮ^)ﾉ*:・ﾟ✧

"Dear one, there is no need to fear... shall we play a game? How about... 'hide and seek'? These Black Wolves shall 'hide' and in the count of ten, the two of us shall go 'seek' them.

"Remember, as a seeker, you must not open your eyes until you finish counting, no matter what. Will you promise me this?

"Good girl... now hold on tight, and close your eyes...

"Your nightmare will be over soon...

"I promise."

I've been thinking about drawing this manga since last year. Although ALAS seems to have been placed on indefinite hiatus, my characters in Celestia are very near and dear to my heart. And when I saw YumYum's character, PomPom, this scenario pretty much popped up in my head!

I really shouldn't be drawing manga when I have more important things to do, but I'm glad this is done and over with. Now I can move on~

Oh, and I don't think I'll be using Google Photos thanks to that number they did in my other blog. In fact, I think I'll just embed photos onto my blog for a while... until they fix that weird error at least. Or maybe move back to Photobucket, I really don't know...

It’s time for my annual art summary! And for this year we have…


I’ve drawn the most number of manga pages this year than any other year of my career! I consider that as an accomplishment since I draw so slowly…

For 2016, I want to learn how to let go of not being able to draw too much detail, and to not draw perfectly, so I can be faster. I know I check and double check way too many times, which slows down progress overall! I blame it on my OCD with hair and faces and anatomy and everything else!

Although there is a bit of improvement with my speed, I need to be even faster! I know the clock is ticking away at my career, especially considering my current circumstances… but I think if my speed improves, I can keep drawing for another year or two!

I want to draw Crystal Shadows again too… It was supposed to be a short series, but these long hiatuses are turning it into a long running one!

Anyway, thank you everyone for your continued support! I will keep doing my best and improve a lot more next year! See you again in 2016!

I’m not completely sure about the color of Lumawig’s eyes and hair beads, but this will do for now. He does look very prince-like in this pale lavender color though~

Can you guess who said that line in the subtitle? Definitely not Lumawig, because he’s mute!
