🥒🔬 From lab to greenhouse: Perfection Fresh is investing in PhD-led research at Western Sydney University through Future Food Systems to better understand and control gummy stem blight through advanced molecular diagnostics. This partnership supports our commitment to sustainable horticulture and responsible sourcing. By developing more targeted treatments and reducing reliance on broad-spectrum chemicals, we’re strengthening crop resilience, protecting natural resources, and improving the environmental footprint of Qukes® production. For customers and consumers, this means consistently high-quality produce, grown with greater precision and care, and backed by science that supports safer, cleaner, and more sustainable farming. It’s a step forward in our long-standing focus on innovation and working with industry and research partners to drive positive change across the fresh produce sector. 🥒🔬 Thanks to: PhD candidate Aastha Ranjan, Associate Professor Jonathan Plett and Hawkesbury Institute for the Environment 🎥 https://lnkd.in/gGvZk_4m

Detecting and treating pathogens in glasshouse cucurbits. In the FFS-supported project titled ‘Biologically informed control of Gummy Stem Blight in glasshouse cucurbits’, Assoc. Prof. Jonathan Plett and PhD candidate, Aastha Ranjan, are collaborating with Perfection Fresh Australia, to test and pilot fast detection procedures, in relation to glasshouse cucurbits, with the aim of giving growers a suite of options to test for the presence of the pathogen prior to disease being evident. The project also aims to test a range of commercially available control measures and create management recommendations. In the following clip, Jonathan provides and introduction to his role, discussing his research expertise - examining how microbes, bacteria and fungi, communicate with plants. Perfection Fresh was privileged to attend the Ronald McDonald House Charities Australia NSW Glitter Ball Sponsor Recognition Day on Thursday 12 March, held at Ronald McDonald House Westmead. The event honoured the Major, Platinum, Gold, Silver, and Bronze sponsors of the 39th Annual RMHC NSW Glitter Ball, held on 24 September 2025, which raised an incredible $1.55 million for sick children (Read more about our attendance at the Ball here: https://lnkd.in/ggQgnJub). Perfection Fresh was proud to be a Silver Sponsor and to join fellow supporters to hear what lies ahead for RMHC and its upcoming goals. Our commitment to community partnerships goes well beyond business. Perfection Fresh has supported RMHC for more than 15 years, and every visit to one of their Houses is a humbling reminder of the vital role they play. When we visited, the Westmead House was operating at full occupancy across all 60 rooms, a pattern that is common throughout the year. We also heard the story of a family who has stayed at Westmead House for 680 consecutive nights, accommodation that would otherwise cost more than $100,000. We are grateful to help families stay close to their children during difficult times, through both financial support and donated nights of accommodation. Every $1 donated to RMHC generates $3.60 in socio-economic value, an extraordinary return. A special acknowledgement goes to the remarkable volunteers, those we met at the event and House tour, and the many others who give their time across the organisation. Their dedication and compassion are unwavering, and as a predominantly volunteer-run organisation, RMHC is always in need of more helping hands. Celebrating Women in Horticulture: International Women’s Day 2026 🌿👩🌾🌿 Since 1978, our commitment to horticultural innovation has driven us to continually improve and deliver exceptional fresh produce. Equally important to our success is the culture we foster, one that values every person, every role, and treats everyone with dignity and respect. Ahead of International Women’s Day 2026, we’re honoured to amplify the voices of women across Perfection Fresh in a wide range of roles. From our glasshouses and farms to marketing, operations, and corporate finance, these remarkable women bring diverse skills, perspectives, and strengths to our business every day. Lee Atkinson, Senior Product Technologist: "I genuinely enjoy what I do because it’s dynamic, creative, and constantly evolving. Being part of a supportive team where everyone is respected makes my role truly fulfilling." Namuna Neupane, Quality Assurance Officer: "Working with such a dedicated team and knowing our work delivers high-quality produce to our customers is incredibly rewarding. I appreciate the respect and flexibility I receive, which helps me balance work and family life." Anita Gissane, Graphic Designer: "No two days are ever the same, and I love that my ideas are valued. Designing packaging that is both eye-catching and environmentally sustainable, while being supported and respected by my team, makes me proud to work here." While horticulture has historically been male-dominated, this landscape is evolving. Women are increasingly stepping into more leadership roles at Perfection Fresh, bringing fresh perspectives and expertise that shape the future of our business. Their contributions reflect our commitment to treating everyone with respect, valuing diverse contributions, and supporting people to thrive as the key to continued innovation and success. 📖 🌿Read more at: https://lnkd.in/gwkF_BcT

🚨 The numbers are in: Perfection Fresh donations to Foodbank up 46% in 2025 🚨 It’s sobering to think that so many Australians still go hungry each year. Yet, in 2025, Perfection Fresh donated 296,173 kilograms of fresh produce to Foodbank Australia, equivalent to 533,645 meals, helping Australians experiencing food insecurity. That’s a 46% increase on 2024, when we donated the equivalent of 365,793 meals. These donations were mainly sourced from our presence at all the major fresh produce markets across Australia, as well as from our farms and packing facilities, ensuring high-quality, nutritious food reached those who need it most. Overall, Foodbank Australia sourced the equivalent of 92 million meals last year, and we’re honoured to have contributed to this national effort. These donations are just one part of our ongoing commitment to making a positive impact in the communities we serve. Across Australia, we continue to support initiatives that bring people together, provide access to fresh food, and strengthen local communities.

Last Saturday night’s Cherry Ball and Cherry Auction delivered something special. Perfection Fresh was pleased to be part of it as a Bronze sponsor, joining growers, wholesalers, retailers and the wider produce community to help raise more than $260,000 for Little Wings Ltd and the seriously ill children they support. The event, now in its 44th year, continues to highlight the strength and generosity of our industry. All funds will help Little Wings deliver free, professional air and ground transport for seriously ill children and their families across rural and regional NSW, ACT, QLD and newly expanded areas across Australia. Hearing firsthand from families like the Doyles from Forbes reminded everyone why this support matters. Every flight Little Wings makes helps connect children with life-saving medical care not available close to home and reduces the emotional and financial load on their families. Thank you to the Sydney Markets Foundation, Freshmark, Little Wings Ltd, donors, partners and bidders for their effort in creating an outstanding result for a cause that touches so many regional communities. 📸 Cherry Royalty 👑 Parisi and Trims Fresh Merrylands were crowned winners of this year’s Cherry Auction. 📸 Perfection Fresh employees and their partners at the Cherry Ball.

We’re excited to continue evolving our packaging in ways that support sustainability, strengthen our brands, and improve the shopping experience.

One of the best parts of rescued food is knowing that it is helping people in genuine need. Every week, thousands of kilos of beautiful fresh produce leave our farms and glasshouses not for supermarkets, but for these people that are doing it tough. Recently, our Monterosa Heirloom tomatoes (https://lnkd.in/gAN_GvD5) played a small but meaningful role in that story, having been collected by OzHarvest after an industry exhibition. As a long-time food donor and supporter of OzHarvest, in 2025 Perfection Fresh donated: - 50,235 kilos of fresh produce - Averaging 966 kilos every week - This has helped deliver more than 100,000 meals this year to people doing it tough. And behind every rescued tray is a real person. A woman who recently arrived in Australia and now visits an OzHarvest Market shared this message with the OzHarvest team: "Your kindness fills more than just plates – it fills hearts. Thank you for feeding our community with love, hope, and generosity." OzHarvest sees the impact every day, distributing rescued food through OzHarvest Markets and supporting more than 1,500 charities, schools and community organisations across Australia. Many are struggling to meet rising demand, with new faces walking through their doors every day. And the need continues to grow. As we shared in our recent post (https://lnkd.in/gFzYaSMp), Foodbank Australia has found that one in five Australian households earning $91,000 or more struggled to put food on the table this year, and 3.5 million households have faced food insecurity in the past 12 months. At Perfection Fresh, we feel privileged to play a small part in ensuring every rescued product - including our Monterosa Heirlooms - helps nourish communities with dignity, quality and care. 💛🍅 📸 Collecting Monterosa Heirlooms and the message shared with the OzHarvest team.
