LETTERS TO THE EDITOR

The Times-Mirror welcomes letters to the editor and commentary on topics specific to Loudoun County. Letters should be 400 words or fewer and must include the writer’s real name, phone number and town or area of residence. The Times-Mirror will not accept letters submitted by a third party.

The deadline for consideration in the next weekly edition is noon on Monday.

Letters containing personal attacks, offensive language or false information will be rejected. Open letters and unsigned letters will not be published. We prefer that you not submit letters that are also being submitted to other publications.

The Times-Mirror does not publish letters that serve primarily to endorse a political candidate or an elected official.

Letters that address policy positions or actions by elected officials, however, are welcome. The Times-Mirror also considers op-eds of 500 to 750 words for publication as a Community View. These essays should address issues of consequence to the community and demonstrate expertise or experience with an issue.

All submissions will be edited for grammar, clarity and accuracy.

Letters may be submitted on the Times-Mirror website or emailed to ltmeditor@loudountimes.com.
