This is a skill that anyone who is working towards the freestanding Handstand Push Up (HSPU) will pick up along the way if they are planning on it or not. Personally, I do not think that the Pike Float should be the main focus point of your training. It can be a mile stone helping you to stay motivated but overly focusing on the Pike Take Off is usually not necessary. The further you climb the latter of HSPU progressions the easier the Pike Take Off becomes and athletes pick it up naturally along the way. Most of the times when an athlete attempts the pike float without success the reason is simply a lack of strenght.
