The benefits of doing planks | Plank variation

Planks are great for building a six-pack, but also train rhomboids, lats, trapezius, quads, glutes, hamstrings, shoulders and triceps. 

In addition, planks offer other benefits such as strengthening the core muscles, reducing the risk of back pain and improving athletic performance.

How to perform the standard plank

Keep your body in a straight line so that only your palms and toes touch the floor, your feet are hip-width apart and your glutes are tensed.

Make sure your lower back does not sag and your buttocks do not bounce.
