Fatherâs Day
HAPPY FATHERâS DAY to all the Dad out there!
âA good father is one of the most unsung, unpraised, unnoticed and yet one of the most valuable asset in the societyâ - Billy Graham
Read this quote when I was in church and felt inspired to blog a post on this special day to appreciate and honour 3 fathers in my life - My earthly dad, my spiritual dad and my heavenly Father.Â
One day I was driving Teng home and she said you sound like your dad. It dawn upon me that our parents have large influence in our lives.
Here are 10 things about earthly dad:
#1 Provides stability and love in the family (P.S Whoever holds the cane has the authority at home :P )
#2 Always taught us to be generous in giving to others
#3 Whenever we donât feel like going to school, we will just type our own âparentâ letter and let him signÂ
#4 People have UberX, I have a UberDad who drives us to school from young till now.
#5 Always so supportive in the things we do in church and in life. Rarely says no to what we want to pursue
#6 The one who will gang up with me against my mom/siblings. Remembered I Wanted to get my piercing when I was 11 years old but Mom didnât allow so we got it pierced first before informing her and even if she said no, she cant do anything about it :x
#7 Funny dad
#8 Driven and works hard to provide for the family. Always putting the family first.
#9 Is a man of few words, not expressive but cares a lot deep down inside.
#10 Stubborn  (I guess this is where I inherit his traits? Haha. But for a good cause)Â
Thank you Dad! We may not express it but thank you for your good parenting! Love you!
Here are 10 things about my spiritual dad:
#1 The one who taught me what it means to live for Christ, to live a life for others, to be idealistic and to lead an alternative life when he chose to give up his fatherâs business to build Heart of God Church.
#2 The closest image that represents a fatherâs heart. He loves sacrificially, unconditionally, is gracious, genuine.
#3 Believe in young people and that we can do great things for God. Constantly encourages me to dream BIG, challenges me to break the glass ceiling to do the things which I never thought I could.
#4 Is a very very very hardworking person. Many people do not get to see the countless back to back meetings he has, all the preparation. He always tell us that we are ordinary people with an extraordinary God. The one who showed me when opportunity meets abilities and preparation success happens.Â
#6 Has taught me many key principles in life through his sermons like Keys to Longevity, Academic Excellence (many many many more...) and discipleship. Has lots of deep insight, hindsight and foresight.
#7 Is a great husband and father. Showed me what a godly family is like.
#8 He walks the talk. He live what he preaches.
#9 A great leader. Heart of God Church is the best youth church because of the leadership of Pastor Tan Seow How and Pastor Cecilia Chan.
#10 Like my biological dad who not only look out for my spiritual life but also all aspects of my lives.
Thank you Pastor for all that you have sown in my life and for all that you have done. Love you!
Lastly, not forgetting Jesus who is the king of all kings, my refuge, my comfort, my strength, my deliverer, prince of peace, my security. The FIRST in my life.
