Once a week I get to help my favorite Geometry student.

View

Now that school is in session, and I'm spending a good part of the day at my desk, I'm thankful for the view from my window.

Class

I'm reluctant to admit how excited I was when my books arrived at the start of January for a class I'm taking. It's a sheltered immersion class, about how to help language learners develop their English skills while learning content. After completing this class, I plan to add an ELL endorsement to my teaching certificate.

Schooltime

I spent the week at Joel and Judith's house in Pennsylvania last week. While I taught online classes from Joel's basement office, Judith and the children completed their homeschool assignments upstairs while the dogs napped nearby.

We are crazy busy getting ready for classes to begin on Monday.

Naomi's graduation

Naomi completed her high school studies this spring. Rather than having a party then, she opted to wait for August when all of her siblings would be in town. Thus, last Saturday, we gathered at the Cookie house and celebrated Naomi's graduation.

Home again

Libby spent six weeks taking poultry classes hosted on the campus of University of Wisconsin-Madison. We were all very happy to have her home.

Commencement

I'm all dressed up, but I didn't graduate; I participated with SVSU faculty and staff.
We have four graduates in our family this year.

On Saturday morning, Brian walked in the commencement ceremony at Saginaw Valley State University. He will finish the last class toward his degree in Mechanical Engineering this summer.

Libby is also graduating. She will complete her degree in Animal Science from MSU this summer. She opted not to walk in the commencement ceremonies. Otherwise, we would have had her ceremony to attend on Saturday as well.

Logan and Naomi are our other graduates. Logan graduated from Delta College, and Naomi is completing the last of her high school work this spring.

Graduation

It's graduation season. Logan participated in the Delta College commencement ceremony Friday where he was awarded his Associates Degree with highest honors. Logan plans to continue taking classes at Delta in the fall, and then transfer to a university to complete a bachelor's degree in construction management.
