Flipkart.com

Flipkart, founded by the Bansals in 2007 is now being headed by Kalyan Krishnamurthy since 2016. A Billion dollar firm with more than 70 million active users way back in 2019. Despite all the efforts, the people in India slowly atarted to buy products from few other popular e-commerce websites. Flipkart.com has not faded yet but it has become unattractive to the customers in the recent times. With the technology getting upgraded every now and then, I strongly would say the company needs to make efforts regain its market in India. Recently the company has done a $700 million payout to its employees who hold the stock options with PhonePe. It is commendable. People, look for the new year offers at Flipkart. Happy 2023.

Dual Flush Toilets

Nowadays, even Cleaning a toilet has become a messy job, and there is always the chance of splashing cleanser or toilet water outside of the actual toilet. Prevent extra cleanup by removing all excess items from around the toilet. Don't forget to remove anything on top of the tank to prevent dropping items into the bowl during cleaning. Dual Flush Toilets provides better ideas on how to clean up a toilet and thereby maintain a eco friendly environment.

Always remember to flush the toilet with the lid down to prevent splashing or spraying. Add your choice of powdered, liquid, or gel cleanser to the bowl. Try to apply the cleaner as close to the toilet rim as possible to prevent diluted cleanser. The motto of the dual flush product is to save water. I was amazed on seeing the product on display.

Lime, calcium, and other minerals found in tap water tend to accumulate and plug up or corrode certain parts in your toilet’s water tank. Pour a bunch of vinegar in the water tank and allow it to sit while you complete the next four steps. Then, flush the toilet a couple of times to make sure you get all of the vinegar out of the tank. You don’t want acid corroding the metal in your tank for too long, just long enough to de-scale it.  Dual flush retrofit kit forms the part of the product that comes into actual contact with people, and it needs to be cleaned thoroughly. Raise the seat. Spray the seat, inside lid and the rim of the toilet with cleanser. Wipe down the lid, seat, and hinges at the back of the toilet seat. Some toilets have hinges that will pop open to allow better access for cleaning.

Nature Of Science

This post proposes the use of a key biological concept - broad classification - to teach the provisional and contested nature of science in school biology curricula. It also examines existing curriculum-related factors which might pose obstacles to implementing such a change. An investigation in South Africa highlights the problems regarding biological classification at the kingdom level of 50 biology students entering one university. Using interviews, questionnaires and document analysis, factors thought to affect learners' ideas were investigated, including the understanding of the changing and contested nature of scientific knowledge of a range of biology educators. The students lacked knowledge of the concept of a biological kingdom, and showed archaic thinking about the number of kingdoms. Many of the teachers held similar views, used outmoded classification systems in their teaching, and were unaware of the history of changes in biological systems. A review of two relevant syllabus and five textbooks revealed insufficient, inaccurate, inconsistent and/or contradictory information about biological classification systems and how they change with time. Three potential problems associated with curriculum innovation are discussed.

Electronic Cigar!

Not everyone expected to be living like The Jetsons, the space age television cartoon series of the early 1960s, but the Zogby International survey of more than 3,000 adults in the United States showed many were less than enthusiastic about how far we have come by the dawn of a new decade. "The age group most likely to be disappointed with the current level of technological advancement are 35 to 54-year-olds (36 percent)," Zogby, which conducted the survey commissioned by a website, said in a statement. About 21 percent of people believe we are more technologically advanced than they thought we would be by 2010, while 37 percent believed we are on target for their expectations.

For the first time, I came across the word Electronic Cigarette. It is amazing. About a third of people 70 years and older said they thought current technology was more advanced than they thought it would be. "First Globals, those age 18-30, are much less likely than older generations to say the technological advancements up until now have exceeded their expectations," Zogby added. Not surprisingly, men were more likely than women to say they thought there would have been greater advances by 2010 to the Jetson lifestyle with its flying saucer-like cars and robotic servants.

Laser Technology

Lasers travel through air and water to generate an underwater explosion of sound at a remote location without the need for extra hardware. They will present their latest experimental data testing laser acoustics in a bubbly salt water tank and comparing two types of lasers.

The conversion of light into sound is possible because certain kinds of light pulses will self-compress, super heating a small volume of water. This optical compression happens because the intense laser light changes the properties of water so that it acts like a focusing lens and because slightly different colors of the laser travel at different speeds in water. The resulting explosion of steam it creates can generate a 210 decibel pulse of sound.

There are two different kinds of visible and infrared lasers to produce these pulses, which could eventually be used to encode information. Broadband laser pulses that can travel up to 20 meters through water to create acoustic pulses at precise distances are created. The laser light can also travel hundreds of meters through clear air, so one potential application is airplane-to-submarine communication. Acoustic reflections from the pings they produce could also be monitored to gather information about underwater environments, from detecting mines to mapping the bottom of the ocean floor.
