At the Movies {Turqoise 4 and PGCB challenge #8}

Here is Kristy Lee's sketch for Turquoise 4 from Scrapbook Steals

And here is my page
The Paper Girls Challenge Blog (PGCB) Challenge #8 is to use up some chipboard out of your stash. The tag in the upper left corner is chipboard that I inked and added a cardstock cutout to.
The ribbon on the flags in the bottom right is from my good friend Cathryn, I won a prize on her blog last month and that was included, isn't it great?!
The movie tickets are copies of the real things because I don't think that type of heat-paper preserves very well. Does anyone have experience with that? Let me know!

Raisin Toes! {Amethyst 8 & Authentique April Sketch}

This one is a bit confusing, but here goes! Here is the sketch for Amethyst 8 for Scrapbook Steals, but it is also the Authentique Paper April Sketch Challenge.
I guess that wasn't so bad after all ;)

Here is my page.

I decided to go with circles instead of hexagons to make it flow better with the circles in the background of the picture.

CMT: Inky - Beautiful

Today's Challenge Me Tuesday (CMT) on Practical Scrappers is to use ink!
There are some pretty neat projects over there, so go check it out! :)
Here is my page
I used Colorbox Chalk Ink pads across the bottom of the page (I turned the whole pad upside down and used it as a stamp). I also used the same method to colour the cardstock for the title before I cut it out with my Silhouette machine. I found a great tutorial to make the twine flower on youtube. It can be seen {here}

Paper Girls Challenge Blog & Garnet 10 - Blur

The Paper Girls Challenge Blog's current challenge is to use a photo strip.

Here is the sketch by Kristy Lee for Scrapbooksteals

Here is my page
This page was a lot of fun to do with all the little clusters of paper strips and embellishments!

Opal 5a (#2) - Nice 'Stache (Woodgrain Mustache Challenge)

Some of my crafty friends recently started up a blog called Woodgrain Mustache. They issued a colour challenge last week to use these colours on a project:

I used the sketch for Opal 5a again.
I really love these sketches that Cathryn did!

 Here is my page!
I wasn't planning on focusing my page elements to go with the title of the "Woodgrain Mustache" blog, it just sorta happened :)
I had tried to hide what a dork I really am, but I guess it's all out in the open now! ;) Hehe. At least I have great company.

Circa 1946 - CE October Challegnge

Here is the sketch, I found it on Pinterest and cannot find a link to the actual page, but it is from Studio Calico. (Sorry, that is as big as it will go without getting pixel-y)

Here is my page. I was chosen to issue the CE challenge for October, it is to scrapbook something that is part of your history.
Sorry for all the editing on this one, it has a lot of personal details. I am going to start an album of stories of our grandparents, and since most of the pages will have single pictures, I decided to do it as an 8.5x11" album.

CE September Challenge

The CE challenge for September is to use a non-traditional product on your layout or card.
Here is my page. I used metal washers as embellishments :)

Here are some close-ups of the large washers. I stamped them using a metal stamp set from a local automotive store and coloured in the letters with a permanent marker.

The picture of this one is hard to read, but the washer says "crew". She thought she was the Crew Boss :)
The pages are my own design, no sketch this time!

MWM Topaz #2 & CE August Challenge

Here is the sketch for MWM Topaz #2

And here is my page.  The CE August challenge was to use stitching, so I got a chance to break in my new Sew Easy tool! :) I love it!

MWM #52 & CE July Challenge

Here is the sketch for MWM #52

And here is my page

The CE July Challenge is to use no patterned paper. So everything on this page (other than the kraft paper) is fabric! It was a lot of fun to mix the two!
This layout also fits into CE's Crop Challenge #4 which is "reate a layout using item for not their intended purpose. Examples coffee filter flowers, cotton ball clouds, Popsicle stick fences, fabric as backgrounds."

SS Online Crop Challenge!

ScrapbookSteals has an online crop challenge going on! I thought I would share my creations for it :)
Challenge #1: MWM # 48 which is posted  two posts before this one
Challenge #2: Number Recipe: 1 die cut, 3 colors of spray mist (or inks), 5 patterned papers, 7 brads and 9 buttons
Challenge #3: is to use this image as an inspiration piece and create a layout however it inspires you.
Challenge #4:is to create a layout for either a boy or a girl using products that are of the opposite gender
 Challenge #5: Bonus Sketch

I combined a few of the challenges but here they are!
Challenges #2 & #5
Bonus Sketch
Here is my page! I used Glimmer mist in 3 colours (Rum Punch, Pearl, and Creme de Chocloat) And the brown paper behind the photos has a subtle pattern on it. I think the rest is self explanatory!

Challenge #4 (& MWM #1)

The page is pretty plain, but I like it!

I am not sure if I will get time to do challenge #3 before the Monday deadline, but I already have plans for it, so it will be done at some point!
Thanks for the challenges, girls! I've had fun!

5 Years!

My husband and I have been married for 5 years today! It really has gone so fast, I guess it's true that time flies when you're having fun!
I just wanted to share the card I made for him. I usually have so much trouble making masculine cards and I feel like every card I have ever made him is mushy and lovey-dovey. So I made him a fun one this time around! It also meets the requirements for the Imaginisce May Challenge and Scrapbook Steals MCM #31! Yay!

The front of the card.

I decided to use the Imaginisce Animal Crackers collection. I love the colours in it!
I stamped the base cardstock with a white chalk-ink pad and the Imaginisce ticket stamp. The blue paper is actually part of the packaging for the canvas stickers, it's just too cute to throw away! (& I love the glossy finish on it!) I also used the Life is a Circus Stamp from Imaginisce for my sentiment & added some gems with my i-rock. The monkey is a canvas sticker, and the tickets are from the border strip, I just cut out the ones I wanted to use.
I also used pop-dots to add some dimension to the layers.

The inside. Sorry the picture isn't so clear, I had to use my point & shoot camera for this one and it wasn't cooperating with me!
I used the monkey snag'em stamp on white cardstock and coloured her in and cut it out. I love that there are boy & girl monkeys in this collection because it works perfectly for this! What a cute monkey couple ;)
I also used my Silhouette to sketch the writing. It says "And there's no-one else I'd rather enjoy it with! I love you! Happy 5th anniversary!"

Thanks for stopping by!

Yet another entry for the Imaginisce March Challenge (#3)

Yes, I really like doing this challenge, and this may or may not be the last time I make a card for it.
I just have a lot of fun with these products and this sketch!

I made a birthday card for my sister in law.

Close ups of the rhinestones I attached with my i-rock & flowers. This was my first time successfully making these flowers and I love them! I think they will be on a lot of my projects from here on out!

I used one of my Snag'em stamps on the inside of the card too and added a little colour. I think it finished it off nicely!

Here's the breakdown:
Paper (excluding card base and leaves) - Imaginisce Enchanted
Rhinestones: Imaginisce Hot Rocks
Ribbon: from my stash
Flowers & Leaves: cut out with my Silhouette machine
Outside Stamp: I'm pretty sure it was just a stamp out of the value bin at Micheals!
Inside Stamp: Snag'em stamp from Imaginisce Enchanted collection

3 Colours - pink, blue, green
3 patterned papers - Princess Promenade, If the Crown Fits, & Mirror, Mirror
3 embellishments -  flower cluster, ribbon, hot rock swirls

I think I will use this sketch over and over even after this contest is finished. I really love it!
Thanks for a fun contest and great sketch Imaginisce!

Another entry for the Imaginisce March Challenge

I wanted to do another entry into Imaginisce's challenge since I just got my new Enchanted collection!
I made a get well card for my Mother-in-Law
Just to refresh your memory, here is the sketch and rules again:

"to incorporate the following game plan into your completed card using at
least 75% Imaginisce products:
1. Three Patterned Papers
2. Three Colors
3. Three Embellishments"

Here are the pictures of my card:

Here is a close up of a flower. Each flower has a little organza ruffle around it! (Click on the picture to enlarge it)

And a picture from the side to show the ruffle more clearly

Here's the breakdown:
Paper & ribbon - Imaginisce Enchanted
Rhinestones: Imaginisce Hot Rocks
Buttons & Organza: from my stash  :)
Lettering, and other shapes: done with my Silhouette machine

3 Colours - pink, blue, orange
3 patterned papers - Princess Promenade, Princess Posies, & Mirror, Mirror
3 embellishments -  buttons, ribbon, hot rocks

I had a lot of fun dreaming up (I really did dream about it!) and making this card!

March Madness Challenge - Round 1

Round 1 is:

"to incorporate the following game plan into your completed card using at
least 75% Imaginisce products:
1. Three Patterned Papers
2. Three Colors
3. Three Embellishments"

This is the sketch

And this is my card

I also used one of my little snag'em stamps on the inside and filled it in with shimmery crayons :)
I'm loving this little alligator guy. So cute!
