Dashing Through the Snow--Sketch Saturday #493

December 9, 2017

It's time for a new challenge at Sketch Saturday!

Our sponsor this week is Star Stampz.  The winner will receive 3 digi stamps of their choice from their store.

I love this sketch and all the ways I thought to use it!
I love this little car from Avery Elle!  It makes me smile!  The stamp set is called Dashing.  I colored it with Copic Markers and added some rhinestones to the little tree.  I fussy cut the image.  The background paper was perfect for my sentiment!  The inside sentiment is "Laughing All The Way"!  Hope you are having fun getting ready for Christmas!

Hope you will join us this week!

Thanks so much for stopping by my blog today!  Please leave a comment and let me know your thoughts.  I love to hear from you!

Don't forget to check out all the other DT members cards at Sketch Saturday.

Dashing Through the Snow--PP #372

November 26, 2017

It's Sunday and time for a new challenge at The Paper Players!

Our lovely Joanne is the hostess this week!  She has a super fun sketch for all of us!  I love sketches!  I always have so many ideas running around in my head.

Feel free to alter the shapes and where you position your sentiment. As long as the main elements can be seen, how you interpret the sketch is up to you.

My card is created on a white card base.  I added a background of a snowy patterned paper from my stash.  I trimmed it with a stitched rectangle die.  The white strip is made with white card stock and embossed with an embossing folder.  The little car and sentiment are from Avery Elle Dashing Clear stamp set.  I fussy cut the image and adhered it with stamping dimensionals.  The snowflake is cut with white glossy paper.  I used the Let It Snowflake Too dies from Simon Says Stamp.  I added a rhinestone in the center and a few more around for shine and on the tree.  The sentiment is stamped in black Memento ink.  I added red and white Baker's Twine.

The sensational Sandy is our hostess and she has a fun Clean and Simple Challenge for all of us!  Remember to limit the layers and embellishments on your CAS card.  We can't wait to see what you create!

My card is created on a white card base.  The top white layer was cut using the Wonky Stitches die from Avery Elle.  The mittens are stamped in black and then I stamped the mittens on red and white polka dots and paper pieced them on the stamped ones.  I used The Stamps of Life Mittens2  stamp set and dies.  I cut the felt using the dies, too.  The string was cut in red using the same set.  The sentiment was stamped in black.  I very quick card, but oh so fun!

Smiles! PP#353

July 16, 2017

It is an exciting day for my family!  My son, John is marrying his beautiful fiancé today!  I am so happy for them.  I am home in Indiana with my family.  It is so wonderful to have special time with all of them.

It's time for a new challenge at The Paper Players!  I am the hostess this week!  I love summer water fun and I thought it would be fun to create cards with this theme.   The challenge is Clean and Simple so remember to limit your layers and embellishments.

I am also entering my card in the Fusion Challenge.  They have a beach inspiration scene this week, too!

My card is created on a white card base.  I used an old favorite stamp set Gorgeous Grunge to create this fun background.  I used a variety of distress inks on watercolored paper with the stamps and created the sky and sand.  I spritzed it with water and this fabulous background came to life.  I loved it!  I trimmed  it with Avery Elle Wonky Border dies.  The little elephant is from one of my favorite new stamp sets Beach Day from Neat and Tangled.  I colored the elephant with Copic Markers.  The sentiment is cut four times using the Winnie and Walter Cutaways dies.  I used Chocolate Chip for the base and 3 layers of Pool Party card stock to create the sentiment.  I added Wink of Stella and  Glossy Accents for shine.  I also added Glossy Accents to the beach ball.  The sun is cut from a piece of watercolored paper that I stamped after using distress inks to create this color for the sun. Clear sparkling sequins were added for shine.

Don't forget to check out the fabulous inspirations from our design team and I hope that you will play along with our challenge this week.

Merry Christmas-Reindeer-Merry Monday #231

January 19, 2017

Today I am playing along with The Merry Monday Challenge.  I love the idea of making Christmas cards all year and this challenge makes me keep to the plan.  Check out their blog for lots of fantastic inspiration!

This week the challenge is Reindeer!  I knew I had to play along.  I have several stamp sets with reindeer and it was difficult to decide which set to use.

My base card is white.  I used the Zig Zag Stitched Rectangle Dies by SugarPea Designs to cut the background papers and the white rectangle.  The deer are stamped and cut out using the Avery Elle Kitsch Christmas stamps and dies.  I colored them with Copic Markers.  The sentiment and black snowflakes are from the same set and stamped in Memento Black ink.  Wink of Stella and white gel pen were added for shine and detail.

Thanks for stopping by!  Let me know what you think.  I love to hear from you!

Merry and Bright--FMS 254

September 18, 2016

I went on a crafty retreat with some very dear friends this weekend.  It is always so special to spend time with friends you don't see often, but you have so much in common with.

I wanted to enter the Freshly Made Sketches Challenge.  I just love their sketch this week.

My card is created on a white card base.  The next two layers are cut with the new Reverse Confetti- Lacy Scallop Frames.  I love retro looking stamps and just received this adorable deer stamp set from Avery Elle--Kitsch Stamp set and dies.  I stamped is on Neenah Solar White paper and colored the deer  with Copic Markers.  The white circle was cut with the SugarPea Designs Zig Zag Stitched Circle Dies.  The plaid papers are from Lawn Fawn-Perfectly Plaid Christmas Pack.  I added a sentiment and some Wink of Stella to complete my card.

Thank you very much for stopping by my blog.  Wishing you a wonderful week!

2016--PP276

January 3, 2016

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

The Paper Players are back after a nice little break to enjoy the holidays with our families!  We hope all of you had a wonderful season  and found time to do the things you love!

Our amazingly talented Joanne is the hostess this week and she has a FUN challenge for us!  It's "All About Numbers" ---use a number on your card!  I had so many ideas for this challenge!  Birthday was the first thing that came to my mind, but get creative and wow us with your fabulous ideas!

I needed a "Happy New Year" card, so I pulled out my Avery Elle-Numbered Balloons and glimmery gold paper and created these fun balloons !

My base card is white card stock.  I cut a piece of gold foil from Stampin' Up! to cover the front of my card.  I found this black star paper in my stash and thought--wow--this is perfect for my background.  I trimmed it with a My Favorite Things die in the Blueprint 14 set.  The balloons are attached with Stampin' Dimensionals and gold Baker's Twine is added behind each balloon. A big bow is added to hold the balloons together.  The sentiment is from a retired Stampin' Up! set Word Play.  I love this sentiment and still use it often.  "Imagine The Possibilities" is such a great sentiment for the New Year!  I stamped it with Versa Mark ink on a strip of vellum and heat embossed it using gold embossing powder.  Gold star confetti from Pretty Pink Posh was added on the vellum for sparkle.

So happy you stopped by my blog today!  Please leave a message!  I love to hear from you!

Don't forget to check out the fabulous inspirations from our design team and I hope that you will play along with our challenge this week.

Welcome to our new Guest Designers!  Linda, Hannelie and Colleen, we are delighted to have you on our team!
