In Love Half My Life...

My Best Friend and I have been together now for
nearly TWENTY YEARS
and I want to surprise him with some fun lovin'
the week of our celebration.
*
I've created this fun little "pop-out box"
that will explode when he opens it.

Once open, this cute little exploding box
will contain a sweet sweet message...
*

along with some of his favorite sweets!
I plan to make some of his favorite "cookies"
(I know... very appropriate, huh?!)
and place a couple of them on top of the little card.
*

Then, of course, I will treat him to lunch!
Aren't these papers and cards just adorable?!
*

My sweetie's favorite cookie...
CLEAN COOKIES
1 box cake mix
(any flavor, but his favorite for this recipe is white or yellow)
4oz whip topping
1 egg
Mix all together.  Roll into 3/4"-1" size balls.
Roll in powder sugar.
Bake at 350 degrees for 8-10 minutes.
YUM!
My son calls these "clean and dirty cookies" because
the chocolate ones look "dirty" and the white look "clean."
he he he.

Queen Kat Designs New Release Blog Hop

Yes! It's that exciting time of the month when QKD
offers all sorts of new and fun images to stamp with!
Each stop on the Blog Hop today
will introduce to you a completely different stamp
so be sure to START at
http://qkd.blogspot.com/!

Last weekend, my sweet little creative daughter and I
worked on gifts and cards for her dear Grandfather.
He is now a fantastic 75 years old! Whoo hoo!!!
We wanted our card and gifts
to say just how very much he means to us.
This image of "Apple Basket" from QKD
makes me think of the phrase
"apple of my eye."

Did you know that phrase comes straight from the Bible?
Perfect (as God is!)
And did you know God considers YOU the "apple of His eye?"
He does!
And through Jesus Christ, we are (or can be) made perfect.
Email me if you'd like to know how it feels to be
one sweet sweet apple!
Now be sure to continue to hop on over to

Big Shot Sunday

So my mojo isn't so "mo" today. At least I'm posting my Sunday post ON Sunday (even though the day is almost over. Hm.)
*
If you don't have a Big Shot yet, you will certainly want to invest in one soon! This super cute gift card holder was SO super easy to create using the Top Note Bigz Die and the Big Shot from Stampin' Up!. It really is one of the best investments I've made in my crafting experience.
*
I used Sahara Sand card stock for the base of my holder and the Thouroughly Modern Designer Series Paper for the front. Because this paper is double sided, I simply turned down the top part of it to create the two different patterns on the front of my holder. The stamp sets I used are "All Holidays" (for you) and soon to be available through the Holiday Mini Catalog, "Charming" (oval flourish frame and butterfly.)
*
Purchase your Big Shot and recieve a FREE STAMP CAMP for you and five of your friends. This gift card holder is just one of the three projects you and your guests will create... FREE. Call or email me today to order and schedule.
*
Check back next Sunday for another great Big Shot Sunday project! Blessings!

Teacher Gifts at Lavender Sentiments

Staples.
You know, the neccessities.
That's what this box is TO ME.
This is one of my ALL TIME FAVORITE patterns.
The box bottom is just so easy and classic
while the top is so simple and fun to create,
I can't imagine ever losing my pattern for this box!
*
What's more is that the top can be played with
to create all sorts of different looking boxes.
Check out this link for just a few "box top" ideas...

Big Shot Sunday

Welcome to my BIG SHOT SUNDAYS!
I absolutely LOVE my Big Shot
and I wanted a way to show you and my clients
the fabulous projects that can be created using it.
I figure what more perfect day than Sunday
to focus on my Big Shot machine.
Since God is my One and Only True
Big Shot,
I thought I'd offer these fun projects on His Day.
*
This adorable little "purse" gift card holder was created with the
BASKETS AND BLOOMS Bigz Die
YOU'RE FABULOUS Stamp Set
RAZZLEBERRY LEMONADE Designer Series Paper
CIRCLE ICE Rhinestone Brads
ORGANZA RIBBON Whisper White
LARGE and SCALLOP OVAL Punches
*
Instead of making the complete basket
(a sample of the complete basket is on pg 37 of the IB&C)
a cute little "purse" can be made
by eliminating the bottom portion.
I just glued the bottom and sides of my two halves.
You can see below how a gift card
fits perfectly into my tiny little purse.
*
To create my tag, I simply stamped the entire
"You're absolutely fabulous" phrase
and used the Large Oval Punch to cut off the "You're."
This way my tag has plenty of room for the ribbon
and my recipent will still know he/she is
"absolutely fabulous!"
*
I truly believe YOU, my readers are
ABSOLUTELY FABULOUS.
I just don't tell you enough.
And if you are a client/friend of mine,
well, that makes you even more special.
Sometimes I make mistakes or say the wrong things
or get passionate about things this world is not so passionate about.
Many people may hold these against me,
get upset with me, or even treat me poorly because of these.
For those of you who have stuck with me,
you're fabulous... absolutely fabulous!
Thank you for understanding that
I'm not perfect.
I'm just ME.
Absolutely fabulous ME.
(I'm so glad that is how HE sees me.
I am still trying to convince myself.)
*
Have a blessed Sunday!

TTS Sketch #58

I am IN LOVE with this adorable can!
Yep, a veggie can!
I love making these to packag my gifts.
And as most of you know,
I truly believe the pkg is a gift in itself.
*
By removing the bottom with
a safety seal can opener,
you can then glue it back on with
Crystal Effects
for a fancy little gift package.

Box Ideas

Stampin' Up! use to offer sheets of
precut boxes in their catalog.
Do you remember that?
I LOVED those boxes!
I still have a ton of the sheets
in my own stash of paper craft supplies.
I just love them!
*
So I whipped up a few ideas for you.
Even if you don't have
these sheets of precut boxes,
I hope these ideas will inspire
you on any of your packaging items.
Just be creative!

If you do have these sheets,
you will notice that I took one box
and cut it in half to create
the two boxes seen here.
One box was vanilla,
the other was navy, of course.
But you get the idea.

For the one seen below,
I simply eliminated part of the
top portion of the box.

Enjoy your day and
thanks for dancing with me!

DELICIOUS!
Thanks for dancing with me today!

Taco Hot Dish

1 lb ground beef
1 pkg taco seasoning
1 bag Doritos (I used BBQ or Chili Cheese Fritos.
My kids like plain Fritos best.)
1 head lettuse, shredded
1 pt cherry tomatoes, halved
1 can Cheddar Cheese soup
1/2 C milk
3 C mozzerella cheese, shredded

Brown beef, drain. Add taco seasoning according to pkg. In a 9x13 dish, place Fritos. Place meat evenly on top. (The recipe cals for the next step to be lettuce and tomatoes atop the meat. I serve the veggies cold AFTER cooking the dish instead.) Heat soup with milk. Pour over layers. Cover with 2 C mozzerella cheese. Bake 350 degrees for 7 minutes. When done, cover with remaining mozzerella cheese.

Gift Card Holder Tutorial

Supplies:

Good Friends stamp set from the Occasions Mini Catalog (email me for your copy.)

card stocks: Kiwi Kiss, Regal Rose, Close to Cocoa, and Whisper White

classic ink colors: Kiwi Kiss, Regal Rose, and Chocolate Chip.

1.3/4" Circle Punch, Scallop Edge Punch, Bone Folder or Score Blade

Begin with a piece of card stock measuring 2.3/4 x 8.1/2". (You can get four of these cards from one sheet of 8.1/2 x 11" card stock.) Stamp entire sheet on one side with leaf image.

Score at 3.3/4 and 7.3/4". (inside image shown here)

Trim a strip of card stock to 1 x 9" for the belly band. Score at 2 and 6.1/8".

Using Sticky Strip (this is a MUST,) adhere belly band together.

Using a stip of card stock measuring 1.1/2 x 4", punch with the scallop edge punch.

Apply Sticky Strip to the BOTTOM of the scallop punched card stock.

Place the scallop punched piece onto the inside portion of the prestamped larger piece of card stock.

Adhere a piece of Whisper White, measuring 1.1/4 x 3.1/4", BEHIND the scalloped piece to the inside of the card. (This step can be done before applying the scallop piece. I do it after just to be sure my scallop piece is going to cover my neutral piece.)

Stamp butterfly image from "Great Friend" and cut out. Adhere it with a Pop-Up Glue Dot to the circle punched piece of So Saffron. Decorate band and slip it around card holder.

Here is a sample I received from a
secret sister of mine.
