Dec, First Half

First half of December has past. Time passes so quickly when you're having holiday~
Just another half a month and it's time to go back to school to start my second year. Shall enjoy my remaining holiday before I go back to school and start on all my core modules.

Looking back at my calendar for the first half of December, I haven't been doing much as compared to November. Probably just went away for awhile with a few classmates for a gathering cum getaway. Felt like we haven't seen each other for a very long time, the last time was on the day of our last paper I guess.

Christmas is coming in a week time, are you prepared for the gift exchange or thought of how you gonna spend this day?

Favourite Photographer Of The Year ~ Barry Seah

Yet another shoot done this year, by who?
By Barry Seah again! Another last minute arranged shot that turn out well :)
I'm waiting for the rest of the photos before I talk about this shoot. Meanwhile, I shall share more about the photographer instead.
In my previous post on my favourite photo of the year, one of the photographer I introduce was Barry Seah. Recently, he was featured as canon EOS professional fashion photographer on Canon's website. In the featured article, Barry talked about what he believes to be his key in getting a good studio shot, his experience and some of his thoughts that help him excel further in the industry. You can read the article HERE.
One of the line he said that I really like "Many photographers have that mentality that Photoshop can solve everything – which is not a good habit to have. It is important to get it right 90% on camera before post processing" I totally agree to what he say! I know photoshop can make photo look extremely good but if everyone does that or overdo it, all photos will turn out to be so different from the raw picture taken by the photographer. I feel that photoshop is meant for fine-tuning the picture only and not causing major change in the photo. I know some girls who are really good in using photoshop that their picture turn out to be such a beauty. But if you ever meet into them, compare it with the photo, you'll be shocked.
After so much talking and if you're wondering who Barry is, here's how he look like! Yan dao right? But sorry ladies, he's taken.
*Pictures stolen from his Facebook*

Some serious passion for photography you have there dude.
Barry has done some sharing session and would be coming up with some photography workshop for photo enthusiasts. If you're interested, do checkout his Facebook page regularly for the release of any news about it as currently the details are yet to be confirmed.

Late Night Massage @ Healing Thai Massage

Are you as mad as me and my friend, seeking somewhere to have a massage in the middle of the night at 1am where most of the shop are closed? If you are as mad as us, then here's a recommendation for you .

Healing Thai Massage
Address: 39 Jalan Besar Singapore 208802
Tel : 6294 0139

On a weekday and also the eve of a public holiday, after having a pretty long day, exam in the morning, meeting in the noon and evening it was super tiring. Seeing one of my close friend looking for somewhere to massage while heading back home, my eyes suddenly became super bright *bling bling*
Head home for a shower, did some research online and happen to find this place. Called up and luckily I was still able to get a slot for our appointment. The place was nice and if not for the road work right in front of the shop, it wouldn't be hard to locate as they are just along the road side. Just right at the corner next to a coffee shop.

I took their Signature Thai Oil Massage. It was GOOD! I went in all tired and looking half dead, but when I came out I was all awake and fresh! Usually when I go for massage, I am so afraid of the pain/aching as I have a pretty aching body, especially my back. But no choice, have to go through the pain before I can feel better afterwards :( But at Healing Thai, I felt no pain! Totally no pain till I fell asleep. Their masseurs are all very experience, some even up to 20 years and more of experience.

My masseurs got a shock when she touch my palm and sole of my feet as they were ice cold. She thought I was feeling cold and offered to turn off the aircon for me. But I told her I wasn't even feeling cold and it's normal for me to be this ice cold. She got shock. It's so nice of her to care about how her customer feels. She not only did her job by massaging, she was also worried that her customer (me) was not feeling comfortable. What caring staff they have. She said I was the one and only customer who has ice cold hands & feet but not feeling cold as her other customer when hands or feet are cold, they feel cold too. Now I feel like I'm not usual!

If you're wondering what kind of massage they offer, here's a rough guide of their menu

Do check out their website (http://www.healingthaimassage.com.sg) for the latest promos! And not forgetting, do make your appointment before heading down, especially during weekends as they are fully booked most of the time!

The Girl Who Controls The Fire

If you know me well, you would know very well I'm quite a camwhore. Gladly admitting it though not so much of it now. Comparing a year ago and now, the photos I take are so much lesser.

Yesterday met up with Barry for a little talk regarding his new platform for business. When walking into the studio, this was what I saw.
This was one of the shoot I've done with him. It was canvas printed and hanging on the wall of his studio! *shy*

Thinking back about how we did this shoot was really hilarious. It was a crash shoot. Called up the night before and the next night we're shooting already. How fast/efficient can we be? Haha.

If you're thinking how we came about doing the shoot getting the fire ring effect in the picture. It's not photoshopped into it. It's a REAL FIRE RING! Now you're curious, aren't you? Here is how we did it.

Please do not try this without any safety precaution.
Even during the shoot, I was afraid my back would get burned as my dress was rather bareback.

The shoot take place late at night in some alley behind Barry's studio in order for us to get the dark night/sky effect. How to have a studio totally dark while we play fire inside? So dangerous! Somemore we'll carry the risk of setting the place on fire. At the back alley of some random street still sound like a better idea :x

I'm happy the way the photo turn out! Though that was taken when I was still abit chubbier. Wonder how it would look if they were taken now, or during a time which I'm slimmer T.T

But still, I've got a sexy back

And a fabulous body curve
*I'm just joking, I knew I lost my curve long ago T.T*

Don't play play ah, Katniss Everdeen in The Hunger Game is "The Girl on Fire", but for me, I am "The Girl Who Controls The Fire"

And who are the man behind the scene?
Dearest photographer + Creative Design: Barry Seah
Helper: Ice Ng & Max Putra
Do head over to their Facebook page by clicking on their name to view their beautifully done work.

Oh ya, and a little more on the one who came up with the idea for this shoot Mr Barry Seah, he is also a portrait, commercial & event photographer. So if you need any related service, you know who to look for :)

School Life

Time pass so quickly. A quarter of the year has already ended and now I'm in the forth month of the year already. OMG! Exams are also coming! 8 more days to my first paper. Though feeling the pressure but still able to cope. Of course I wanna score well, I mean who doesn't want right?

Coming near to the end of a semester, after going through so many assignments, group work & presentation, I've met real good group mates. Guess one of my project group mates were all one of a kind. We're enjoying ourself at the back of the class when our presentation turn is next up. Instead of feeling all nervous and afraid of the Q&A session that's coming for us, we were all happily making jokes and laughing. We even predicted the questions that are gonna be coming and had it all prepared on who's gonna be answering it.

Hopefully for the upcoming project groups, we can all be so crazy. It sure is some good time spent together and also we do produce quality work :D

Life is getting better. New people, new smiles, new work everything seem new. Maybe even new love? :p I lost my smile for quite awhile some time ago, along with some other passion I have for other stuff, but I feel that I'm slowly getting it back. I'm glad it's all coming back. Finally understood that it's not how much you put down for that one person, but how much that one person is willing to accept that part of you. If one doesn't even wanna accept it, I should forget it and continue living the way I want. Do not change the way you live for the one who does not understand who you are.
