It's BOXING day! Hope everyone had a great Christmas like me! :)
Finally managed to unpack all the presents today and would like to thank all those who got me something. All thoughts are appreciated. Many many gifts this time round that I have no idea where to keep or use some of the stuff. Shall see when they will be useful!
Yesterday was Christmas, I had a great & long day.
Without realising it, it has already been a year or so that we have been together. Although we agree not to count dates (exact ones), but we roughly know it's about this period of time. Time sure passes so quickly that I couldn't even believe we actually just passed the one year mark.
I wouldn't say that we have been always been smooth sailing. We do go through those ups and downs like any normal relationship. 2 major events that cause me to be really down. But it's also all this ups and downs that makes me realise how much I still want to be by his side. How much I don't wanna leave this man. All this ups and downs allows me to see things from a different prospective to protect myself and also to protect the relationship, at the meanwhile, preparing for the future.
1 year isn't really a long time I would say. There would be many more years to come (I hope). But the part that surprise is that we actually passed this mark. To be frank, when I went through those 2 downfall, I didn't see us getting through it and being able to continue as we are now. As for now, things are back to normal, or maybe slightly better than the past?, we're getting on fine. I'm happy, he's happy. We're both happy.
I appreciate all the time he tries to squeeze out for me. The little surprises he gets me once in awhile. The loving and tender voice that ask me if I'm alright when I'm exceptionally quiet. The text messages he sends to let me know how much he misses me. The effort put in to plan a day with me. The effort he takes to try and melt me. All this little things, I do notice it and I appreciate it.
My dear, I may not be the most beautiful & gentle girl around, but I'll always try my best to understand you better. I want you to always be feeling happy, comfortable & warm whenever you're with me. I hope after giving me so much of your time, you would still have enough personal space. I don't want to be eating into your personal space.
Whenever he's happy, I'm happy.
I loved and died. But yet, I continued to love till now.
Let's hope everything goes on smoothly till the very end. Cause a quiet and peaceful life with you is more than enough.
With the man who brought me lots of tears & smile.
I'll not be writing about the whole of my Taiwan trip over the Chinese New year as not the whole trip was enjoyable. But I did enjoy myself at some places :)
The oldies decide to visit Yang Ming Shan National Park (陽明山國家公園). It's a garden, full of many many many flowers! Not forgetting the Cherry Blossom that are going to be full blown in few weeks time.
The pictures shall do the talking on how the National Park looks like.
Lastly, not to forget the cherry blossom!
And to end off, a photo of me with the cherry blossom in the background to show that I've really been there :p
If you're intending to go Taiwan during the flower season, do checkout what flower is it. You won't want to miss it as they bloom beautifully!
First half of December has past. Time passes so quickly when you're having holiday~
Just another half a month and it's time to go back to school to start my second year. Shall enjoy my remaining holiday before I go back to school and start on all my core modules.
Looking back at my calendar for the first half of December, I haven't been doing much as compared to November. Probably just went away for awhile with a few classmates for a gathering cum getaway. Felt like we haven't seen each other for a very long time, the last time was on the day of our last paper I guess.
Christmas is coming in a week time, are you prepared for the gift exchange or thought of how you gonna spend this day?
My babyboy is finally 1 year old. Born on such a nice date 12/12/12.
So quickly 1 year has past. I remember when he first came to my place he was only about 6 weeks, roughly my palm size only. But now he's so fat and round, just like a furball. I had so much more smiles after I had him.
"It's better to have love and lost then never to have love at all"
The Leap Years is a locally produced film which was released on February 29, 2008.
The date that it was release actually has a connection to the movie. I would say that when I first watch this movie, it exceeded my expectation as during that point of time, local production wasn't much of a different from one another.
The movie was base on the book "Leap of Love" by Dr Catherine Lim. The story was about a young Singaporean girl who happen to chance upon her special someone on February 29. She then took the courage to ask him out in a very unique way. She asked the man out based on the Irish leap year tradition where a men cannot refuse a proposal or date from a woman should she do so on February 29. Till now, I'm still looking for the book & DVD.
"A saint once decreed that a man must agree to a woman’s proposal today.
So I’m writing to see, if you would partake with me a date.
Give me a sign, as I’m hidden from your eyes, to meet me at eight.
At the same place you sit, to fulfil the tradition of February 29th."
They made a promise to meet up on every February 29 "same time same place". It's called Windows Cafe, in the movie, located at Club Street which is now replaced by a new restaurant called Seven on Club. The man happen to be engaged when he fell in love with her. Their love story spans 16 years, a total of 4 leap years, as they realise the pain of love until they take the leap of faith, and also the leap of love.
The movie also has a nice blend of music by Corrine May, a local musician, singer & songwriter. Once of the songs made a very deep impression in me, Scars. The lyrics made me really kept me thinking for quite awhile. It was since then that I started listen to her songs. She has this really nice voice & the music are always very simple. Her songs gives me a heartfelt feeling.
"Losing myself, gaining it back again, forging strength from weakness"
If you're looking for a simple love story that you can relate to, with artistic style in directing and a love story of a typical love-no love with light-hearted endings, this is what you should watch.
A trailer to watch and see if it's attract you to wanna watch the movie
"A saint once decreed, that a man must agree, to a woman’s proposal today.
Today is the is the last time in this century the date lines up in consecutive order.
Many people around the world are tying the knot, spending time with their love ones, treating this day really special.
So what are you gonna do on this day that would not be happening in the next 90 years or so. But no matter what it is, have fun & I hope you enjoy your day.
Went for a super short 2D1N trip with my mum and her cousins to Kukup, Malaysia, sometime after my paper. It was a great trip though it was short.
We went in a group of 10 pax so we had a mini van to get us to Kukup. In between we had breakfast stop, went to some temple, gotten some fireworks, headed for lunch at Kukup follow by the kelong tour.
A group photo after lunch while waiting for our ferry to the kelong for the tour
During our kelong tour, most of us wasn't really paying attention. I pity the little boy doing the tour.
While waiting for our ferry back to land, we decide to camwhore
Our apartment for 2D1N
With a really big living room
The view just outside our living room
We got comfortable & it's own time own target till dinner time, so I had mahjong!
Our bbq dinner~
Highlight of the night.
Setting off floating lanterns,
Plus fireworks!
You can create your own national day they if you want.
Follow by bedtime.
Mum & cousins prefer to sleep on the floor with the mattress like how they use to when they were young
Day 2 was just breakfast + lunch and it's time to head back home.
But before we leave our kampong house, a last "family" photo.
If you're really thinking of going to Kukup for a short trip like this, gather your friends and go together. It was less than $100/pax, including transport from Singapore + 2 lunch for 2 days + 1 bbq dinner + 1 breakfast + accommodation.
