Frog Collage Card

Hi Friends,

I have to say, the combination of the Heartfelt Creations Flip Fold Inserts and any HC collection makes these kind of interactive cards so easy and fun to create.  It's just a matter of deciding on a theme -- and off you go!  I reach for them quite a lot now, what a time-saver!

For this card, I selected one of the panel inserts from the Pocket and Flipfolds "B" package (HCFP1-434-1). This is a great package choice to have on hand to make cards (even if you're not a mini-album fan)!  I used the smallest panel in the set and accordion-folded it following the pre-scored lines.

I trimmed different papers into mats from the Winking Frog paper collection to cover each of the panels.  I didn't really even measure, I just aligned the papers next to each panel and made pencil marks where I wanted to cut them.  Obviously, you can certainly take the time to measure and you'd probably get a "neater" version than mine!

Next, I die cut several of the images directly from the papers - I just matched up the coordinating dies to the different characters and instantly had lots of fun images to work with on my card.  This is the best part of all - lots of fussy cutting results without the fussy cutting!

I also created some water lilies and lily pads and attached them with foam dots to add even more dimension on some of the panels.

The fun part was just adding all my die-cut images and my lily pad flowers to the panels and seeing the fun results come to life with very little effort!
There's just so many options and ways to use the different papers, dies, stamps and tools that HC has!  You can see lots more ideas on the HC Blog today - every one different, and each one inspiring and fun!  I hope you'll check it out!!

Thanks so much for stopping by today! Have a blessed week!

Poinsettia Christmas Tree

Hi Friends,

Oh my it's truly Christmas time!  Are you busy decking the halls and hanging stockings by the fire place with care??

I created this Poinsettia Tree using the Sparkling Poinsettia Collection from Heartfelt Creations.  Had such fun with this that I ended up making 6 more for family members!!  The finished tree stands about 22" tall with the star on top.

It was impossible for me to capture the full tree in one photo, so these are not very good shots but hopefully you get the idea!

I started with a paper mache cone that I purchased from Michaels.  I covered it with paper from the paper collection.

Next I created poinsettia flowers using the stamps and dies from the collection.  I stamped them all onto red cardstock with black ink.

I also stamped and die cut leaves from the collection for the tree.  After creating all the flowers and leaves that I thought I might need, I wound ribbon around the entire tree then filled in the rest of the space on the tree with my poinsettias and various other Christmas themed embellishments that I some how seem to collect every year.  This was a great way to use some of those up!!

I used mini shinny red and gold bows, mini pinecones, glitter styro-foam balls, ribbon and various buttons and trinkets to fill in the spaces.

For the tree topper, I die cut 5 snowflakes from the Arrianna Blooms collection from sparkly white glitter paper.  I creased the snowflakes then glued the together to create a 3D star.

Finally, for the tree skirt, a created a large rosette from the paper collection and wrapped it around the bottom of the tree base!

Hope you enjoyed the photos and possibly gave you an idea for next year on how you can use up some of those little Christmas embellishments that seem to secretly multiply while in hibernation through the year!!

Introducing "3D Flip Fold Albums and Inserts" and My First Video!

Mini Album Features Farm Fresh and Classic Sunflower Collection
Hello Everyone!!

Black Friday is here and this is a big day for the Heartfelt Creations Team!  We have all been bursting at the seams holding a big secret about this month's new release!  But it's finally time to share and I can't wait to show you!!  (Did you see the Live Stream Demo today on the Heartfelt Creations Blog?!!  EEEK!!!)  I'm so happy about this product line, everything about it inspires creativity whether you're a card maker or scrapbook-er!  You will love the genius behind this 3D Line!!

BUT FIRST!!  Before you watch the video!!  I need to get this out of the way... I managed to make the number one rookie faux paux of video filming - it's filmed in portrait, UGHHH!!!  So let me just apologize now and tell you that I was so bummed when I learned what I had done wrong, and worse yet, there was no opportunity to re-film it!  But, thanks to lots of editing by my daughter, Leah Clark,  the footage was salvaged somewhat and hopefully you won't be tainted on the product by my poor filming!!  So, with that said -- on with the show!!

And here are still photos of each of the album pages labeled with the new 3D Pocket Flipfold Inserts and dies I used to create each page:

Cork Tag -- Brand New Release from Heartfelt Creations!

Hi Friends!

It's a great day for a new release!  Heartfelt Creations debuts "Italiana Riviera" this week and it is fabulous!  IMO, HC is evolving with every release and becoming even more sophisticated and gorgeous with every new product line!  I'm sure this is what heaven is going to be like!! ;)
"It's time to slow down the daily pace, take a deep breath and embrace life with the new Heartfelt Creations Italiana Riviera Collection.  We invite you to stroll down the Italian coastline taking in the spectacular seaside views, open markets, and amazing architecture while allowing yourself to relax and get lost in an easy going way of life.  Feel the gentle breeze, breathe in the aromas of salty mist and mouthwatering eats as you pass by a harbour lined with delightful cafes and quaint little shops calling out to you to pause for a visit. Step through towering stone gates to meander through perfectly manicured vineyards boasting rows and rows of coiling vines filled with dense foliage and  plump clusters of exquisitely purple hued grapes.  Then as the sun sets, continue to take in the old world charm and beauty of the area as you relax in your villa, enjoying a glass of fine wine aged to perfection while jotting down all of the days wonderful adventures on an old fashioned postcard, pausing occasionally only to peer out the old stone window that reveals the most surreal view of lush gardens, stately mountains, beautiful flowers and that perfectly manicured vineyard.  At Heartfelt Creations we dismiss the misconceived notion that you are required to leave your craft room to experience the finer things in life...so come along with us as we invite you to explore the charm and elegance of the Italiana Riviera Collection!"
The first project I made with the collection is kind of a no-brainer!  Since the collection is all about the culture of wine and vineyards, I made a wine bottle tag/card featuring the gorgeous paper collection.  I drew my template on copy paper based on other tags I have seen before, just sort of eye-balling the dimensions and "fitting" it to the bottle like a dress pattern (LOL)!  I replicated it onto black cardstock and decorated it with the patterned papers.  Specific dimensions to make this tag are published on the HC blog today.

I chose a used cork from a stash I have and sliced off about 1/4 of it length-wise so it would lay flat and adhere to the card.

Next I made a matching, poly-shrink plastic charm, using the grape cluster stamp and matching die set.  I added a tiny eye-screw to the top of the cork, threaded the charm onto a wire jewelry ring and hung the charm onto the cork.  I adhered the cork to the tag, added a burlap bow.

These are the Heartfelt Creations Products I used for this project:
HCDP1-259 Italiana Riviera Paper Collection
HCPC-3696 Italiana Grapevines Cling Stamp Set
HCD1-772 Italiana Grape Vines Die Set

There's so much more to this collection and in the coming weeks I'll be posting more projects - hopefully each new one will inspire you to check out the entire line!

For lots of gorgeous examples to get you started, check out what the Design Team came up with [here] this week with the new collection!  I think you'll love it as much as I do!

Blessings!

Altered Spice Rack

Hi Friends!

I have another project using the Farmers Market Collection from Heartfelt Creations today!  I had a lot of fun altering this vintage style, ceramic spice rack that I found at a yard sale awhile ago.  It was incomplete; it normally would have had a little ceramic spice jar in each of the cubby holes (like the one shown in the photo on the left), so it was a bargain that only a crafter would love!

To begin, I painted the shelving with white "Lace" Chalk ink from the Vintage Market and Design Store (my favorite store in my home town Albuquerque!), and the three spice drawers with "Blue Heron" Chalk Ink.

I lined the surfaces with different patterns of paper from the Farmers Market paper collection and fussy cut out several images from the collection to use on the project.

I die cut jars from craft aluminum sheets and vines from green cardstock using the stamps and matching dies from the collection.

I attached all the elements with Wellbond All Purpose adhesive and used some styrofoam "cubes" that I just hand cut from packaging material to stand the elements up and towards the front of the cubby holes.

I finished the spice rack with some lace trim and faux pearls as accents.

Run on over to the Heartfelt Creations blog!  There's some amazing altered projects and cards for you to see!!
