Live To Ride - So Fashionable

Ride To Live!

So, today we decided to go to our old place and take a ride on the Moped - the only one, I suppose, season is over now, I guess.

Some impressions, turn on the sound:

Other... my dear Bro is so fashionable, what do you think?
(Clicking to enlarge is really worth it!)

Nah, he collects all glasses from the 70´s and 80´s and sends them to some artist who actually even pays for them:

This is how the guy really looks like :-)

Addendum: My Bro is an Optometrist and those glasses are old ones that have not been sold. Spectacle frames they are, really.
Old glasses with spectacle-lenses that are given back to him always go to Africa where someone (looks like he made a time-warp-jump from the old times and looks a bit weird) and can at least see a bit better...

And you can probably guess it. I came home with another 10 without ham!!! 4 days in a row, yum!

Not YET Again

... said Ingo.

Oh, but... I have to share. Just yet again. Because it´s so-so-so yummy:

Y.U.M.

Sadly, certainly, that was yesterday night. The second half. Had the first on Sat. Hmmm... "Memories".... my tastebuds just scream for more (and luckily I can´t fulfill that. My, I might weigh a ton! Though, no. I "survived" living in that (yummy) place for 18 years without going for a ton ;-)...)

Have today off work, yay! 25 C outside, sunny. Maybe go back "home" for a trip on the moped. Maybe just relax.

Traditional

Yesterday we went to our old place. Ingo´s parents had messed up their computer and I was in for just a visit - and a 10 without ham, for sure. Had one half yesterday and look forward to the other half tonight - YUM!

My Bro and his soon-to-be-wife really do live beautifully in the country - they even have a garden. I went home with yummy tomatoes and some sunflowers - some are over 2,80 m tall!

Well, people now contact me due to plans considering the wedding, one friend was about renting a horse-carriage for them but I just talked to my Mom and she said, naaah. All very traditional: My Bro has a friend as a chauffeur and the Bride will be taken to church by her Father.
My. I never knew my Bro was so deep into traditions - or is it maybe her?

Anyhows. I got a new - a real chain - for my King-Frog and Ingo makes me an easy-to-use closure again - see the man at work (the King is high above) :-)

Just Like Straw

Wow. I just zipped through the archive of pics (friends of my Bro plan to make a so-called wedding-magazine) and saw this pic from last November:

It´s really weird that no one in the family has noses like that - but we do! So similar, no?! (As well as the lips even!)

Color is the same, just why is beard´s-hair like straw?

Second work-week is nearly over - already! Time so runs!!!

What happened... aw, well! My work-PC died. Or, hopefully, only got seriously sick. They "know the problem", but don´t know when I get him back.
So... I moved to the looser. No Photoshop, nothing. Gack, I don´t like GIMP - and that was the only program I could get, cause I´m no Admin on that oldie, nor is anyone of my team.

Today and tomorrow my colleague isn´t there, so I take hers - also only one monitor, at least Photoshop. Keep your fingers crossed I get mine back soon!

Private stuff: Serious decision has been made - now let the fun begin (after a whole lotta work of research, that is)! More when there is more to say!

Weather: Still the most beautiful summer-days!

I wonder, though: Maybe last summer was as great, considering the weather?

This year:

- Ingo is healthy (, hence:)
- "first summer" (like this) together
- first great bike

Anyhows... for me, life is great atm :-)

Huge Family

... the li ´lle guy must have, I suspect.

Because I can remember him being around all the time in my life. He is the reason why I never looked into the camera, you see?

Just some examples:

He was with my Dad:

With my Bro and Magnum in the US:

And now he´s with us, too:

Sorry, but he just cracks me up!

Little Treasures

...are to be found along life´s lines, no?

We went on another bike-tour today.

Well. So far we had a great summer, really!!! Started not that good, but now... L.O.V.E.L.Y!

This group of stones was a treasure in it´s details, have a look:

Hehe, even with a frog! :-)

We couldn´t find out anything about it, though.

But it was a great tour...

A face in the woods!

We ended the tour in Beergarden Katharina again, it´s just so nice to sit there...

If it wasn´t for the wasps, they´re nasty! I never got stung by one yet - and I wanna keep it that way! Ingo has some horrible stories to tell of that it really does hurt...
One bee-sting so far on my side.

Awww, certainly... another King-Frog on the way:

Ingo starts cooking Spaghetti Bolognese now, yum, Happy Sunday everbody!

"Wishing You...

a nice and sunny day :-)"

That was how the E-Mail of one of my customers ended this morning.

39,5 C!!! With window open and driving (slow, in the city and I was quick and with the eyes on the road).

It was like sitting in an oven all day.
So far officially the hottest day of the year.

Well... he can send those wishes over every day! :-)

Just... you can´t think properly in those temps.
One colleague came in this morning and said, oh, where is A.? Oh, yips, it´s Friday! (She works only 4 days a week now).
Me: No, it´s Thursday!
Colleague: ... oh. Sure, I wouldn´t be here if it was Friday.

:-)

We went on a walk and bumped into the Thursday-Markets. Got some Feta for a horrendous price - but it was worth it (the industrial stuff is just eeek)!

Love this bowl:

For tomorrow 21 C are predicted - what´s with the weather these days?!

The King Is Dead.

Long live the King.

The Emperor is alife and kicking though - even if it doesn´t seem that way:

My "little" Bro, the Musketeer and soon-to-be-husband on the historical parade in Wolfenbüttel. Temps were over 30 C and I can see it´s not funny to run around in clothes like this for 1 1/2 hours with a heavy weapon!

I couldn´t get a better pic, there were just so many people!

These guys wear really thick fabrics:

This poor man wears a thick wig:

Man I hope I´m fit like this man when I reach that age:

A funeral procession:

The fire brigade:

One of those butchers handed us sausages, yum:

A vintage car:

Max and Moritz were there, too (despite the fact that they come from Mechtshausen, some 50 km away):

These were a little freaky, really. West-Germany luckily was "taken" by the USA after WW II:

Here I thought, awww, feels like being back on Cuba:

Right so! Belongs to the Kuba-Museum Wolfenbüttel (German). I won´t pay a visit there, though - it´s not featuring Cuba but "Kuba Tonmöbel", old radios, TVs and such.

Sure, when you are in Wolfenbüttel you get to see people running around in T-Shirts featuring Jägermeister - they have their headquarters there:

Turn on the sound, these guys are really good:

Certainly on a historical parade these Trabbis have to show up, too - DDR, or East Germany was close by:

This guy was not so lucky:

And this guy was hot :-):

Even a King Frog was there, kinda:

It was a great parade, really.
You say, naahhhh, on occasions like this you get ripped off for parking your car?
Yips, guess so,

We came by bike.

On a hot day like this! 30 km (both ways) - it was exhausting!

Shadow came only when we reached Braunschweig again. And these sights are rewarding, no? Was hard to not jump in the water!

Work has got me back.
Or work, is it?
One of my colleages cheerily greeted me with "welcome to the Club again!!". Drinks came not around though ;-)

Please keep your fingers crossed - finally for tomorrow another job-interview came around for Ingo.

A First - A Last

What is "normal", huh. After so many, many years being in a weekend-relationship I always managed to get away with doing the washing-up only (and the eating, of course!).

Finally being together didn´t start easy.
First three apartments to take care of, then the herniated disk, then the pancreatitis, the wrong medication and all, with that the loss of the job, the global economic crisis and the very difficult search for a job - all that on Ingo´s side (ok, I took part in the apartment-thing!).
On my side the loss of my colleague due to the crisis - tough times.

Cooking was never my thing.

But things are starting to get "normal" and in a normal relationship you have the fun and the duty to work for a better "togetherness", right?

So. I start to join in with the cooking thing.

This is my "work" (with Ingo giving the size as an example first):

Pepper, zucchini, mushrooms, nothing new.

Here my first - onions in little pieces - I never did that before:

You might think, oh-my! But... at home I wasn´t allowed in the kitchen because I was always afraid of heat. Pans, oven... you know.

Ingo did this:

The result, yum:

Properly in this:

The last today...

Will be going to the footy. A last time visit a game of American Football in town.

When we started in 1998 I paid 5 DM (German Mark - 2,50 €), being a student.

Now it´s 20+ &euro.

Hello???

And we get less and less for that! No more "Opening", no more "Pre-Game", no more "Re-View", no more "After-Game".

So I asked, via e-mail. I said this isn´t just a mean complaint, but I have a point.

I got back, "all the best for your football-retirement". Which means "F### You", right?
Very sad. The players do their best - though being a mostly new team now. But the management just doesn´t care.
There were around 10 000 visitors watching and there are bare 4 000 now. And they give people who join in for over 10 years an answer like that.

We´ll save a lot of money now.
