I´ll Find Out!!!

Today I join Rain´s Thursday Art and Dinner Date with "plaid".
Reckon good ole Sherlock didn´t really look like this, but I thought of him think that pattern...

And for the dinner-date: It.Is.Summer. Well, more or less. Today another cold one.

And....

No party planned - these last a year at least, smaller amount too expensive.
50 times we did this:

The  internet-series:

"33 retro dishes that are rarely served today

 Pork medallions

In the 1970s, almost every self-respecting French restaurant had pork medallions on the menu. Traditionally, the dish was served with a creamy mustard or mushroom sauce. Although many restaurants still serve similar dishes today, the word “medallions” has largely disappeared - unless you go to a retro restaurant."

T STands for ToTal Mix

With this Tea to be I join Elizabeth´s T.

The Journal:

Monday: fK is back at work and threw the phone at me and we chatted. Teams really is a great tool.

Oh, come on. If you are present at the office and get a cuppa, you talk privately, too.
Also we do minor works meanwhile like sorting e-mail etc.

I sadly heard nothing about the further training. I am too impatient, she said.

Other the tax-software finally worked and weee. New rules: you don´t need an extra workroom anymore, hence I can deduct working from home from tax!
Got some other private, important mail-stuff done and wanted to clean up but sore muscles in my legs and my back hurts like hell from all the bending over under my private PC-place.

Totally windy here:

 And scarily later:

...tornado in America... Scary coincides...

Tuesday: Drumroll! As I so miss hearing the rain on a tin-roof or a slanted window Ingo bought - to our neighbor´s dismay- three tin-buckets that, upside down, let me hear the rain inside (we live ground floor). Such a nice start to the day!
Then: Taxes again, a pain.

Wednesday, got up as usual, aka 05:00 (I am on hold and could sleep in but naaaah), brought plastic outside and saw: in the paper bin in the corner is still space! By 07:00 I had cut down ALL cartons, brought outside and had the  laundry done.
Then got rid of all recycling bottles and did grocery.
Tax-office opened at 08:00. 08:02 I call, they are not open yet. Huh???
Gave them 5 more minutes and ended up in hold-line for 20 minutes!

Thursday: On the way home a little girl with her bike had to wait for her Mom.
She smiled at me and said hello. I did the same. She went on, "your coat is very beautiful... and your beanie looks kinda funny!" And gave me a huge smile. She was maybe 4.
I think I made her day and she mine!
By golly, such an open, brave little girl!
Eeek, so much snow on the dish I could not watch TV, had to wait for Ingo as I´m too small...

Friday: My termination agreement ends March 15th. Plan was a further training that actually takes 12 months in 2. Sportive. Alternative: Till June. Maybe do-able. I was to get a video-call  from the job center, but the lady didn´t show up - luckily!!!
My teamlead called me from the car, so no one can hear her.
Monday a wave of terminations will start and they are not allowed to hire people for a longer time.

So, I will try to get the 12 months - if the job center pays and - I am not to tell anyone (and didn´t): They plan to get me back, only teamleads Railway know...
Wish me luck the job center pays and I get the certificate!
It´s on technical editor - Expert, aka operating instructions/manuals. Sounds easy, but reckon it is difficult, I saw the questions... this was really luck. 2 months - hahaha.

Ingo bought me a beautiful bouquet of flowers😘
And saw: Green peppers!!!!!

Weekend: Saturday: We went grocery shopping, had a chat with check-out woman Bea (we have GREEN peppers!) and sat forever to prepare Ingo´s super-mega-yummy filled peppers.
Wonder about the pirate flag? Explanation and recipe on Thursday.
They are to die for. Do you have trouble to get green peppers, too?
Later Ingo made pudding, not my thing, looks pretty, though.

Sunday: More filled peppers and, my. When we were young we had one half each and after a quarter each.
These days we share a half and are FULL.
Löwenzahn, Die Maus (Ice-cream for Snowman), Fairy Tale. Quiet day.
Lost places: "... they drank German beer, ate German food,... and listened to the greatest German, Hit#er". For Christ´s sake!!! That man was AUSTRIAN!!!!!
He got German citizenship (in Braunschweig, buhuuu), but he was AUSTRIAN!

Munchy:

 (I admit, from the store).

The series:

"This is how we shopped in the 20th century

1958

A family does their weekly shopping at this supermarket, whose walls and ceilings are decorated with advertisements for cookies, crackers, pickles and salad dressing. Can you see the sign for "S&H Green Stamps"? These were a series of private label brands that were popular in the United States from the 1930s to the late 1980s and represented an early example of a customer loyalty program."

Have a great T-Day and a great week, too.

Some Pluviophile´s Days

The other day I was in the city and it started to rain - despite I had a brolly with me!
Isn´t the light on this house so beautiful?

"The house at Kohlmarkt 1 was mentioned as early as 1268 as a stone house and the surviving inventory shows a Renaissance gable from around 1590." (source)

On the way back home I found...

See here for someone in the hood sees actions like this.
This "trasher" took care the book stays dry.
I hope that coward neighbor moves away soon.
Or I have to give all I want to give away for free to fK and she puts it in her street more far away - the people appreciate this - but then I let the coward here win, huh?

If I´d taken fK´s offer to pick me up "because it´s raining" I would´ve missed this.
I think by now she got it that I´m a pluviophile - when my seminar and her workday were done it was raining - she looked me in the eye ... and knew... I´ll enjoy to walk!

"A rain lover, also known as a pluviophile, is someone who finds joy, peace, and comfort in rainy days." (source)

Still on the way to ESE, it had stopped raining...

What.Is.This.Good.For???

More rain expected - aren´t these so beautiful. Little drops on tiny flowers...

How about you, yay or nay to rainy days?

Henry 🦁:

Yes, Henry... let´s find the beauty in sun AND rain.

T Stands For ... All Good?

... not my ticket to Elizabeth´s T - I´m not cheating (but isn´t this too cute?). Here goes:

The journal:

Monday: Quiet. Forced Day Off. Weather: Icky.
I certainly overdid it.
Dunno. You take the "supertool" and clean and... it´s not clean, so you end up on your knees to do a proper job. Gah.
Next day... dirt. Where the heck does this come from??? We do not even have kids nor pets!
I blame it on Ingo (kidding).

Tuesday: Muscles ache... ahhhh!!!!! Do you know a proper tool to clean wooden floors?

Had my last Quesadilla. Big buhuuu... I ate so slow to enjoy it all went cold.
Yes. I could do this myself.
But the guys who did this for me...! The smiles I got. All gone.
Must check if they do burgers now. Last time the shop was closed.

Wednesday: Meep. Fun with Admin T.
Then.... I am too honest. Ingo warned me... be careful working with women.
Was. Let´s see.
There are women and there are women. I have two wonderful ladies. And then this one. Who is my "mini-boss". Alas. Maybe I handled it good.

Thursday: Oh-oh. Boss requested my profile at LinkedIn. Good or bad? Meep?
Lady-boss wrote "liebe Grüße"... "love". Hm. All good? She also said "Shit!!!" on teams. All good! Yes? We never met in person...

Friday: 1 1/2 hours. We called it "social bonding" and that was that. A teams-call at work. At times also work-related! I think she is my friend!
We met 4 times for real by now and ... it is so easy for me to make friends with men. Certainly her "love" is a woman, so she counts as man, no surprise, big LOL.
I do have female friends with male partners. In Australia. Maybe German women are odd?
5 teamleaders - and Ingo!!! - said to me "you are no woman". As a compliment, so yes, German real women must be odd.
Does it even matter other than women-women are still rare here?

3 hours talk with Bro. I spent a lot of time on the phone!!! Count in 20 minutes with little Niece, too!
BEAMING! Someone please invent that! We could´ve shared a Döner!!! Hmmm, hungry now. (Seesen has real good Döner - even Pizza-Döner! With LOADS of cheese - cheese is LIFE!).

Weekend: Saturday: Adventure time!!! BIG!!!! LOUD Post planned for Thursday.

Sunday: Fun and yum and rest. And Ingo got the job done: Hotel booked (yes, it is THAT difficult!)

Munch-wise:

P.S. Chris mentioned I fit so much into my week.
Well...
Before I drove 30+ minutes to and 45++++ minutes back home from work.

I once searched for a place to park the car for 45 minutes after the long drive and had to walk 10 minutes home. And I needed to pee badly...
Now I walk 7 steps to my workplace!
And, frankly, let´s admit that. When I set up a tea.... I pick laundry and throw it into the machine. Next cuppa I hang the laundry.
Come on!!! Others in the actual office chat with colleagues!
OK, we do that on top via MS teams sometimes :-)

Art-wise... did I mention fall?

I started filling it for the Nieces. As another that comes in soon.
To walks in the rain!!!!

T STands For Trains

My ticket to Elizabeth´s T.

The journal...

Monday: Hot, hot, hot - not so yippeee when you have to walk 3 km... yearly meetup - first time with a younger woman. We talked about Rudy Rucker´s 4th dimension, she wants the book.
Those mathematicians crack me up.
Gave The Simpsons-book to former boss (also a mathematician) and never got it back!!!
She has to promise to give this one back! It´s from the 1980´s!
I wasn´t even good in math - how come I always end up with this subject?!  I told her I tried twice and didn´t get it.
I feel like Homer Simpson when he fell into 3rd dimension! (She knew the episode, of course).
Next time I´ll visit ESE Rudy will join me...

Have you read the book? Did you "get" the 4th dimension? Am I "dumb"?

Tuesday: 08:50 a.m. BOOM! Thunder! This is really weird weather. Then heaviest rain.
And KABOOM we all went into the Fourth Dimension, now admin T requested Ingo´s book about the Fourth Dimension by Rudy Rucker.

I think I will give Rudy a third try before giving that away and make sure I get it back, too!
Ingo said no to try again...?

Wednesday: 02:16 a.m. BOOM!!! Flash!!! Oh, it was wonderful!
Later my admin had a good laugh on my connecting Lisa Simpson´s Conrad, an AI, to our IT-"problem".
Started an online-training of Pilates, finally. Something different to training with D.

Thursday: Fun with Admin and another colleague - no solution, though, but we laughed a lot, see here, if you like. He now calls me "dear Iris". And hence I answered "my dear".
See, he is happily married, two young kids and we get along so well.
He (psssst) also said he will take care of my Aussie-Lenovo before we go to Perth!

2 new sessions of Pilates and 4 with D as no more sitting outside, too cold....
Evening AI at the Simpsons (with Schroedinger´s cat) and Quantum Leap on DVD.

Friday: Admin is into something we´ll check on Monday. 2 colleagues as team eventually want me for INA, Inductive protection of approaching trains. We´ll check this. They are "dumb balises" (not the colleagues, the system!). Actually we are in to ETCS (European Train Control System)! Hmmm. Will I find myself on the rails for real? Will I have to let go of ALSTOM???
How the heck did I end up in railway????
And I LOVE it, too! As said the engineering part, not riding it, don´t tell anyone...

Weekend: Saturday: We went to the city (railway, post to come tomorrow), Ingo had three "bombs" of ice cream and was too sick for a BBQ hence!

Sunday: Löwenzahn, Die Maus, a great Fairy Tale we didn´t know yet, 28C / 82F > BBQ!!! We .. well, I was the helping hand only, got  my push-bike back to safety for a maybe coming up project. And my workshop Wed - Fri at the company, not via Teams.

Food-wise:

Art-wise:

Which is soon over. Which makes me very sad.
But!!! Not THAT sad, as....

 Especially...

Thank you, Kathy!
And really, when I was at ESE´s other house yesterday, there was an apple tree and apples lying in the grass all around it!

 What a week...
