Hello, Elizabeth...

Yes. We happily went to Elizabeth Quay. Again. Together.
I hated this!
It felt like Perth tries to copy Sydney and Perth does not need this!!!

I do not "hate" Sydney - nice people there! I went by myself, even took public transport, by myself (believe me, it is overwhelming!). Ingo was trying to sell our car in King´s Cross in 1995 and I took a day off.
There was or is a traveler car market there.

Had no clue how to get to Circular Quay and just asked people, got tips where to go and put my paper-map away, cause... just ask the friendly people!!

But... but... I feel more like a "Perthie" and did not see why Perth seemed to want to be as "fancy" as Sydney!
The Bell Tower seemed to disappear!

Once one of THE icons of Perth, standing by itself...

... is now surrounded by high buildings and others steal the show...
Hopefully back soon blogger Grace and I were not a fan of the development!
Aww, well... the things you cannot change you have to embrace, right?

Here you see...

To the end of our holiday lotterywest  had another fireworks - as this time I had no spider-bite I could attend!

See here:

That was fun!

Though, to be honest... the LED-light show I liked much better. Environment-friendly and not scary to animals...

On The Chase...

... hopefully... and very soon... of... oh, very sad. I found a video on FB, a Ukrainian soldier with a sunflower that grows and blends into a whole field. A sign of hope.

Not allowed to embed.

OK, no sunflower with a soldier then.
Instead let us go with respect this way:

Oh, I owe you this, too!

Saw it the first time in 2006 - it was meant to be "temporary".
I hope the war is temporary...
This is for Tom´s Signs2.

And weeeee... March´s up! And I am no April-joke - ESE still looks for work for me...

Anyhows, here goes:

Happy April everyone!

... soon!

Birdies!!!! 140 Of Them!! #2

More murals by Graeme Miles Richards.
Please also note the shadows "the birds" create...

More next time, I don´t wanna "overload" you and encourage you to study all the beauties closely.
If you´d like to see one particular closer, let me know.

Happy Monday.

(Not) So Ordinary

Notice the typical shadow from RIGHT ABOVE!

I know, to you those are but ordinary seagulls. To me.... HOLIDAY!
And especially here:

I went for a swim even, it was wonderful.

This is for...

Ingo Found It!

Whilst waiting for bus #450 Ingo found this at or behind the bus-stop.
This is the other side:

A 17 yo student! I packed it in and when I went later to Perth city Ingo went to the college and found a pub he liked - nearby.

A Friday we went - I took a video but do not dare to show you as I didn´t ask the people - just believe me: Do not go to a Pub on a Friday, even if it´s only 5 p.m. - LOUD!!!!
We had one beer and literally fled!
Dunno. In Germany people are not that loud - not that we go to a pub here often anymore - can´t even remember last time! And that´s not due to the amount of beer ;-)

From time to time we visit the Jürgens Brewery -  a Craft Beer Bar, not a regular pub.

Well, not the point, the point: Ingo finds such stuff and takes care!
Happy memories (apart from that loud pub).

After The Storm

Sorry I missed the "y" - the sun is that bright, I hardly saw what exactly I "catch" on the cam...
Likely stormy today. And, yippeeee... I woke to rain!
Pic taken somewhere in Perth... or Freo?
A good sign for Tom´s Signs2, don´t you think?

Well, you´re heading into Autumn there...

Birdies!!!! 140 Of Them!! #1

The artist is Graeme Miles Richards and here are pro-pics of this mural.
See last post - this is the city/country of murals and I am so happy to find (and sometime with our host even MEET the artists!).

For my own fun - and I hope yours, too! - I go in in detail. Might take some Mondays!
With interruptions, maybe... I speak of the city of murals after all...

 "Got it?"

All good things are three, right, so... hang on for more.
And... thank you, dear host... I was so happy to have found them after all - yikes I really have no sense of orientation, but at least didn´t end up in the park and found my way back to Madeley!

This is of course for  Sami´s COLOURFULWORLD Monday Murals!

Yes and... have a great Monday!

IT Is A ...

for...

See... Sami told me about two murals.
I didn´t find them.
Got more instructions.
Ingo helped me on the CAT-map (free bus in CBD, Perth Central Area Transit). I drove by myself and YIKES.
WHERE.ARE.THESE.MURALS?!

Went into a pharmacy to ask for help and got: "What is a mural?!"

Oh. Lordy... You live in the city of murals and...
OK, next shop and... I found this cuppa!!!
How could I not...

It is safely home in Braunschweig now, pics still taken in the cabin in Madeley.
The  lady had no clue what a mural is but upon my explanation sent me to the park but I thought, nah... Sami would´ve said "park" then!

I found it, see tomorrow - I found both, stay tuned.

And this NIGHTMARE will always remind me with a smile that I find things on my own even if people fail to help (that is the pharmacy and that gift shop, NOT Sami or Ingo!!!! They tried their best with Mrs-has-no-orientation-whatsoever).

Pic created by NightCafé. For more details ask our host!
I have the movie here and will watch it on Aussie-Christmas, July 25th

A Bumpy Start

As mentioned I´d booked our Cabin a year in advance and we got an "upgrade"... again.
I hate those upgrades as usually they´re the opposite.

See, Ingo shaves here in front of the only mirror and without a basin. For water he went to the kitchen sink. Well, you make more steps like that!

The loo-door I closed for Ingo with the portable heater as it opened itself, a sliding door worth it´s name!

But what when you´re alone?
Of course Ingo came up with a proper idea.

I told the new manager and she looked at me as if I was nuts. I mean as in: We do not ask for help, Ingo solved the problem! I told them so they do not wonder.

Yes, upgrade. All new, nice, looks good but is not... oh forget it.
To the left you see where you put your towel.
Problem is... the shower-door opens to that side...

Huge wardrobe. Just... you could not hang a robe in there as it had 5 compartments!
So, if you have a dress (I didn´t)... improvise to hang it!

We had an extractor hood to the right beside the kitchen basin.
Ingo found a two-plates induction-stove in the drawer below....
OK, we don´t cook there anyways, but really, who designed that!

We went for...

Do the dishes and let them dry ... in the basin as there is the basin only. Sadly I forgot to take a pic but one good thing:
I used the microwave a couple of times.
Yes, me!!!!
In all other cabins that darn thing was high up and I had to ask for help - here it is on the kitchenette!
Thank you, someone thought of small people!!!

Also nice, at our ...

Kingsway City ... when you go to Big W / Thingz you still find:

And... what is that on the floor???

I got that huhhh... 2017? I have them all, from Big W.
This time I with a heavy heart putting down the left one - the other I have:

But I got the book I ordered January 2025 - yes you read that correct, 2025... at amazon and never got. Big W... not a worry!

My Jamie-Selection :-) Actually I don´t need it as this man gives everything away for free on Facebook as he wants us to learn and have fun and live healthy!

But... You know...
We first saw Jamie 2015 on TV in Madeley/Perth and I LOVED his way of teaching!
He explains in detail and says, "just a suggestion, do it your way.".
And THAT is how I like to learn!

As it is Freo-productions with Freo being but 20-something km from Perth books and DVDs are much cheaper than in Germany and.... off I went!

Nah. let me say... I bought it out of respect. It´s a give and take, right?

We had a bumpy start with that cabin .. I might book it again.
At least it wasn´t "Ingo... Ingo!!! The door!"
In "our" cabin I often had the huge door in my hands and am too weak to put it back.

Sorry this turned to be soooo long!
