Well it´s four weeks now that I got my Acoustic shock and the pills I got did not help.
It´s really like it´s just after midnight and instead of a TV-programme you get said swooshy test card. Non-stop.
Driving me nuts. Do you remember this?
2011 I got an eye-infection, my doctor prescribed cortisone and my eyes sure did not like it. At all.
So, when last time my ear specialist suggested cortisone I refused, but the mild meds did not work at all.
My bone infection was half as terrible as this constant swoosh.
My doc was not in, but a younger one.
To his "what can I do for you" I just replied "help me ;-)!".
Well. That cortisone that went directly on my eye was different so now I try those pills.
Wish me luck.
Guess when the receptionist pats my arm I do not look that happy anymore.
Can only get better, right!

I just heard Ingo saying, "no idea, really, how she did it exactly, but Granma has passed." - oh, my.
We lived with her.
I helped her in the household and all.
Ingo had to move out (no questions, please, it´s all forgiven - from my side.. I guess).
We always kept visiting her and you never ever reached the bell - she ripped the door open and exclaimed for all to hear:
"My Children!!!"
Oh, do I miss her.
She was such a modern gal in her times, too!
She knitted the most colorful, creative socks, also (thanks to trying to knit one pair - the first one - for me as welcome and there was not enough wool, so she had to mix! ;-)...)

That he had in his head only, too! And not very precise, either.

One day she asked Ingo to get a "forgotten" pumpkin from the cellar.
Ingo tried not to puke, I tried not to laugh and Granma kept exclaiming, "poor boy, poor boy"!
That darn thing was more than due, "water" all over, too... brrrr...

I´m not sure. On one hand...help the locals, on the other... picked and frozen is the freshest way...

Some of the most loyal and fine people I got to know here, and with some I am still friends with (haha! Men and women CAN be friends) are from former GDR.
Socialism may be but an experiment but I heard loads of good stories, too (and yes, they had bananas, they just did not have the patience to wait for getting one! Or two, three...).
They had "weird" stories to tell, too.

We "Wessies" call(ed) them "Zonies" as they were from the Eastern "zone" and, well.

He also told me at school he learned EVERYthing about October Revolution, over and over again, but Hit#er was just a short episode.
Whereas we "Wessies"... well, the other way round - I can´t wait to see what my Niece will get taught.

On one hand people - everywhere, too! - encourage me to take a break.
I worked and had many a private bad encounter "at the side line" (as probably many of you had, too, parents dying, partners nearly, too, etc, etc).
The lady at the work agency said I need a big break and doctors (plural) agree.
And you get used to it, too!
Or - to tell the truth! - citalopram took my life away for more than two months!
I am still not half as fit as I was before!!!!
And then... I have to face .. no understanding - from the closest person in my life.
"You stay at home all day".
That hurts. So bad.
And from a person who "suffered" the same, too.
I try to get back on track, I do.

I have been told I have no "nothing" (I´m a graduated engineer!).
So... what is next in for me.
Working hours: 05:45 am - 1:45 pm... a LUXURY I will not get back.
6 weeks off every two years to go to Perth... I will not get that back.
16 YEARS I was allowed to show I can do a more than a good job so the 9-5 customer agrees to my life-style. Plus one year to kill me finally. 17 years I worked for that company and always loved it, too - till the new "boss" came...

People get sick - I lost both parents to cancer, I do know.

Well. There is no denying it. Summer is over.
This was the hottest, most beautiful German summer, it was awesome.
As Ingo said, the last summer like this was 198...5 or such!
I am so thankful we´re heading to Perth soon and have yet another great summer in our darn winter!

Ow, we sadly lost this crazy cow somehow.
It was 1999 and the Mad Cow Disease in Great Britain was a big subject also in Australia - she mooo-ed herself crazy, literally (she made it to Germany but got lost with all the moving, flooding etc).
But it is that cow I had to think of, waiting for Ingo, looking at that totally empty ice-cream store (ohhh, speaking of! I so hope at Hillarys they still have (Grill´d!!!) the licorice ice cream!).
Found our partner-cities by chance (usually we just sped by) - first one was Nîmes - with a ciggy-butt right beside (haha, I´ll never forget the French guy from Royal de Luxe who really lit his cigarette in Perth City! - Well, he was told off a sec later, LOL.)

The article says press from around the world came to witness, so maybe you´ve heard of it?
It´s just about 15 km from the west of this city.
In October 1963 129 miners went down shaft Mathilde - around 8pm the shaft broke.
Most could save themselfes but 50 men went missing.
Police, Red Cross, Fire brigade, border protection, German armed forces, Federal Agency for Technical Relief, they all came for help.
Water and late October means it´s cold, pretty cold.
Deep down, in 60 m 21 men could safe themselves into shaft "old man", but falling stones killed some, they were but 11 then.
The next day a funeral service was planned - no one thought in these conditions one can last long.
But some of the miners, in German called "Kumpel" - "pals", weren´t willing to give up.
15 more tries were given to them - the last one - ten days later - brought... NOISE!
The most spectecular mission in German mining history started:
At first they shuffled down food and hot tea and told the men to build a shelter from falling rocks and then they were able to let down said "Dahlbuschbombe" (took a while since all material was being brought away already), a kind of cage, 2,5m in height, only 40 cm in width, the men, one by one had to squeeze themselves in there, arms up.
Only one hour later all were rescued and needed sunglasses even though it was autumn.
There was silence. Blank silence until the last man was safely up and then people cheered like crazy.
Some movies, the most popular was this one tell of this miracle.
These days Iron Ore, that is still processed in Salzgitter AG, comes from Sweden and Brazil.
It was a miracle, huh. 14 days in the dark, wet cold.

At around 08:50 am it was some chilling 4C, anyhows we later went to (Sorry Mom, after they called me and then on to) BraWoPark where a very little Food Festival was held, 9C at least by that time.
And again (see last post) it was not a problem AT ALL to get a burger cut in half!
Did not fall apart and here goes, you see:
I have no idea how one person is supposed to eat that by himself!
That half was too much!
The French Chief Wiggum was there, kinda... should´ve given me a hint!
