Hop On

Saw this jewel the other day. Can such a tiny have strength?

Ha, Look here! I´m one, too.

And also my Brother!

Aren´t we all, don´t we all need to be strong?

Henry 🦁... ummm... Henry 👨...

So, hop on, let´s be brave.
Times WILL get better.

2001 on this day I went to a job interview, signed the contract 30 minutes later and as May 1st is a public holiday started on May 2nd.
No such luck this time...

Btw... yesterday was plain WONDERFUL!
We had rain... thunder and even lightning! One flash so close I even gave an "huhhh!".
I LOVE this weather. ⛈🌩

What´s Your Color?

(We´re the same age and he said he´s an "old man". HELLO?!!!)

Added preface: This is not about American Football.

To read and see in the news, on blogs all the bad things happening to colored (?) Americans gave me one thought you maybe share?

Sometimes I think it might be jealousy.

Black people need no sunscreen, as far as I know/learned (from themselves).
All the money and time I spend on that sunscreen!
When they bump into something you don´t see it (I turn blue too often ;-)...)
Mosquito bites and other bruises... "Invisible" - come summer I look like  streusel cake (they taste Ingo and then they tell each other... "take her! She´s more yummy!").
They look beautiful, they have wonderful hair... (mine is nothing).

Maybe that is it.
Jealousy.

Just look at the British Royals - they made the younger one quit cause they don´t accept his beautiful wife as she is not "white" - to loose a Grandchild due to this!
Why can´t we just be people.

Oh and when it comes to sports black people are often faster, better!
Even in Braunschweig they love to hire "black" football-players from America (limited "number" allowed only cause they are so darn good).
They do great with the kids, entertaining them in the breaks, they are darn fast, catch the ball or knock others over with profession. No face mask or such.

... happy to not gotten tackled but cuddled. Elzie wasn´t playing - as defense certainly btw, but visited his old team in Braunschweig this time only. As many a player did and they were always recognized and cheered at.

One, Estrus Crayton, see first pic, even made a pressie: A fellow white team-mate had his 99th or 100th game and never made a touchdown. Estrus ran into the out just one yard before the goal line so his mate could have a touchdown.

We.Are.PEOPLE.

Henry 🦁?

(It was truly a great feeling to be on the football field. Boy is that huge when you stand in there! Chapeau for the players, that´s A LOT of running they do! Estrus did this in no time from one end to the other that day (as always)).

Henry sees people from all over the world shooting him - with the camera, of course.
He sees a lot of colors. There are people from Japan, looking a bit yellow-ish, dark-colored ones from... maybe just their home in Braunschweig, maybe from somewhere else. Brown ones. White ones, he ENJOYS all the colors, I bet!

Babies. They don´t make a difference.

Will I Fall For That?

New in store. Hm. Salted caramel.... reminds me of the Mango and salted Coconut ice we had in Waldecks
Boy, that was yummy.

These..

I had no idea where even to look for those. I was going for a new backpack, but maybe next time... cause Henry 🦁

2020... February. Shops open ... on a Sunday, too... soon open again, right?!
Yesterday in the news they said it´s the coldest April since 1980.
Bummer. And you want ice cream, Henry... dude...

This is for Tom´s signs 2.

T STands For Trying

I tried. Bare with me, I´m a beginner and had no idea where to begin!

This is the real Henry:

I also was so dumb to move, so I had another angle continuing.
Cuppa-Henries say "duuude..... sit still!" - but it wasn´t his fault, mine it was!

Maybe, Henry... This wasn´t easy. And my third try already (oh, come on, I´m honest at least).

Food-wise... mmmmm... microwave!

Sadly Ingo was sick on Sunday and Monday but I had to eat anyways so... Boiled egg - sorry, I don´t wanna... there is a German saying - it stinks when you say you´re good, but this egg was perfect! And I made it. As in... I cooked it. The making was by a hen of course!

Hot cheese is so much better than cold, is it really just the crunchiness or is there another secret?
This is Tilsiter and kinda perfect as it was April 25th where the ANZACs are honored.
People wear a poppy-flower in legacy - and I had a poppy-seed-bun (Ingo bought this).
Just need to look to the right for the flower...

Even the Prime Minister wore one attending the ceremony as also saying good-bye to The Little Giant Girl and her Uncle, The Diver.
It was touching. I stood in fourth row in Langley Park but later could see it properly on TV. Being small sucks BIG ;-) Word-game.

As you know this is for Elizabeth and Bleubeard´s "T Stands For Tuesday" and hence...

 Eileen keeps me going....

There isn´t much to do in lockdown and having no work.
The more so I enjoyed a good surpise-snail-mail!

A nice What´s App not only the daily T-ones but from my Bro.

Ingo made the best goulash, hmmm and the months-old red wine is finally gone, LOL.

Got a beautiful video from my Bro featuring winter 2020/2021 with family. So good to see them, darn you, Corinna, we still see each other!
And so easy to get it via Whats App but watch it on the PC! Apps are a nice thing (I always use that now. No more fiddeling on the phone, the PC it is.)

I found vinyls!!!!  Will show you another time. Can only try to make "art" with those.

And the Maus!!! She was on MY Skateboard!!!

I really had exactly such a cheapy one like this, in these colors! No helmet, certainly.
I was so fast the wheels couldn´t take it anymore and off I flew, thankfully to the right in the grass and not onto the street.
(I was a bad kid).

We´re alike and nearly one age (she just turned 50!)

 She fell, too...

Henry 🦁....

Not sure I captured him well. Sorry, dude, I gave my best...

Aw, well, ...

A very forgiving Lion, don´t you think?

Three-Dimensional

Sorry... here goes...

As Elizabeth said the video embedded doesn´t work in her country maybe try this link?

Every Monday when I go to get Ingo´s bread I pass by Theater Fadenschein.

It´s a small theatre and I admit I never went there, it´s none of my interest.
But the trainees make this art, featuring motives from the plays.

It´s for kids, with evenings for adults.

More to come sometime (I made some terrible shots and only saw later! I´ll try again next time...)

Henry 🦁

He can do this, also, kinda, being 3-d.
We have the first one. The blue-yellow represents the soccer team, the hooligans, I don´t want to support that.

C'est Bon, C'est Bon

I think Uncle Sigi did not work in a gumball-factory after all.

But when I went and got this cheese I was back in his old house, playing we were captains, my cousin and I, using these in the flooded cellar as boats.

Can you believe it didn´t smell bad in there?! Must´ve been fresh water!

We had rainboots and were entertained for hours.

Do kids do this these days?
Using used (rather expensive) cheese-packages as boats and have fun seeing them float around? Pushing and pretending?
Or such-alike?

My Niece has a wooden horse. Bro made sure it´s safe and dug holes for the hoofs, put it down in for good, yet they wanted me to buy a hoof-scratcher (for an unreasonable price, too!!!).

HOW?!
Kids can imagine a lot but when the legs are "buried" in earth... I did not buy that useless, expensive thing.
Should´ve bought a Gèramont!

First yum, then play!  AHOI, captain! (I´m Peter Pan).
How about you, do you buy senseless toys? I refuse.

Imagination is a great thing you should never, ever give up on, but senselessness.... no.

Buried legs and a hoof-scratcher, which brain has fun with that?!
Or am I just a bad Auntie?

Henry 🦁..

Water again, really? I told you, not my thing!
(Sorry, dude!)

You´ve Got Mail (We Did - Not After 8 pm)

Oh, don´t you love the movie? And Tom Hanks and Meg Ryan? Awwwww.

Well. We got mail. From the Pharmademie, love that word cause it tells the truth!
Many make money with Corinna. The Pharma-industry, the politicians...

I STILL (from NOVEMBER) !!! have a parcel for Perth here I cannot send, code orange....

The letter (dated 7 days back, too!) reads our health and safety is "so important" to "them". And they are happy to inform us that persons with "certain" (???) pre-existing illnesses can get a vaccine.

What pre-existing illness should I  have????

And how would they know in Hannover?!

We are "entitled" to get a date for a vaccine.

I am healthy and fit, I have no illness apart from maybe (still waiting for the letter from the doc) a thyroid hypofunction. I´m not even 50! The vaccines are not tested, products get taken off the market hence, cause side-effects are bad for too many people.
(And I always get but the side effects).

We had an argument on this, Ingo and I.

IF!!! If or when we can travel to Perth again... we book one year in advance anyways.

THEN - if needed.... I´ll get a shot. Not before this!!!

Corinna is a virus. A living being and living beings mutate.
A shot today would be useless in a year.
They spread panic with "mutations coming from Great Britain, Africa", CERTAINLY this happens, it´s a virus, it mutates a tad faster than us.

After our argument we saw the news and there they said maybe come June/July all people can get a vaccine.

CAN GET!

They planned to force us to buy these super-expensive masks (plan was deleted) - we have to wear medical ones, no hand made.

Oh, sure. Another punch in the stomach for all those lille stores who sew cute masks and cannot sell them anymore.

Sorry, rant over.

"pre-existing illness"... I´d have a "post-existing illness" afterwards!

Henry 🦁?!

He wants to run to Hanover and bite their butts! Then off to Berlin and continue the job! Our "Chancellor"´d be first, big butt she has. No brains or conscience... (Lehr means teaching).

News yesterday night: You cannot leave your home after 08:00 pm.
Is Corinna more active from that time on????
Actors stand up #allesdichtmachen.

I could cry.

Ingo had a weird Perth-dream, hence we´re up already. On a Saturday!

P.S. Hopes are gone. The workplace at Ingo´s company is taken. Since weeks already.
Ingo sadly didn´t know this.
Hope and loose.

And, really. Why is it called Covid 19?!!!!! Not 0 or 1?
Because we have it since 18 times before, maybe not that bad. argh.
In my eyes - I am no doctor/scientist, but I have a brain... It´s making panic and money.

YES. It goes on your lungs and really harms people with pre-sicknesses dangerously.
Excuse me... like any flu does.

I read about FIT people 100 + years old who survived Corinna. Months ago, so don´t ask me for a link, search yourself, I think it was Greece and Spain.

I have near to no contact to people but Ingo and W.
I keep distance. DISTANCE.

I think more and more people get sick of this.
Because it´s a threat we have since... forever.

Addendum! As The Padre thankfully (thank you, like really) said #19 refers to the year 2019.
Yet... we had sooooo many flus and whatever.
Corinna will mutate..
I´m so sad about the "lost" workplace btw... I thought it was a real chance.

Sad Post? They Need Support. And Honey.

The weekend-ads - and yes, I love to "study" those, and, yes, paper! - informed us that today is  the Day of German Beer. Never knew there is such a day!
Here you see the Beers in Germany...

See.... we sit in the kitchen after Brekkie, like an old couple (hups, that we are!)  and read the ads. It´s another tradition, or ritual, kinda.

First pic... "(Heartily) Welcome"... those days are gone...
You cannot visit the Brewery "these days".
Wiki informs you the original brewery closed in 1977.
Ingo´s Dad, who became a police officer here in Braunschweig back then did visit at  times and now a young start-up team re-opened.

In a garage, and now we cannot go anymore, thank you, Corinna, but Ingo... certainly....

We support them, certainly (same guy even! I think it´s four young men).
They craft beer "by hand" ...
I remember back in the day they made honey-beer, BOY, that was yummy and sold out in no time.
Ingo wanted to get me another glass. They squeezed out the rest, a little last sip, and he got it for free for me 😁🍺🧡
So....

Pic from last summer, already in our kitchen.
Ingo wears their t-shirt, see. (yes, that´s a cute bat in the background. A plastic-bat. And Christmas-trees. Our kitchen is green-red... And the trees have hearts.).

So... try to support, check if bars/breweries deliver maybe.

Henry 🦁...

OK, this is Wolters, but also local. And yummy (well, not the Weizen, I´d never drink that!).
Raise your glass... or bottle 😁

You often see workers after a tough day with such a bottle in hand, taking a sip here and there and happily walking home.

Yes, here it is allowed to drink in the street, as long as you "behave".
I remember one time in Perth we wanted to open an Emu waiting at the bus-stop ... huhhhh - don´t! Not allowed, another one waiting with us quickly told us!

On the bus was a guy drinking from a bottle in a brown bag. Guess! So "sneaky" (not).
He was pretty drunk but polite, he opened the gate to our Caravan park for us, still can laugh my head off about that.
Reckon that was wine or even harder stuff.

In Cologne...! I was for further training. It was a hot day and I bought a cooled bottle of beer in a little store.
The sales girl opened it straight up for me!!! 🤣🤣🤣 (here you need an opener)

Actually I wanted to take it to the hotel... aw, well....
Cheers to the German (or any) beer today!
And BIG YAY the Reinheitsgebot (purity order, and actually Bavarian, not German (English link) is not important anymore in Germany).

And to bars and pubs opening again soon as all the others, restaurants, stores, whatever.

Woody Allen Is In My House!

Remember Mae´s blog-entry on Five Authors and a Historic Theater?
Can you imagine  my face hearing Ingo say, there is mail for you and finding this?!!!!

I think our addresses fly around and that´s fun and OK!

See...

And there is more!

It´s not just a tavern, it´s a symbol of today´s!

Well. I haven´t sadly seen a horse in ages... or traveled.
I remember good and mean horses/ponies (I often got the ponies cause I´m small).

One was named Alexander.  Any guess why?
He was great!
In size and character.
I had to adjust the stirrup.
No.let´s start different. I came with the snaffle. Some horses refuse. He put his head down, cutie-pie, that!
The saddle, too heavy and him simply too tall - I needed help. Then adjust. He could´ve run away! He stayed put and waited till I was done and (sorry) bumped into his back. (I needed to jump, he was like really, really tall!)

Guess he would´ve loved the Michie Tavern (thank you for the memories, Mae!).

And one more:

Sorry. My cam was a little "overjoyed"!
Ahh, to see this for real, that would be great!

My uni - Fachhochschule, or "FH, or University of Applied Sciences (UAS)" looked crap if you look at this beautiful building!.
Why am I still proud? I also worked with my hands, with real machines, it was not plain theory.
In the end architecture was not for me, but IT is also some kind of architecture, right?

Mae, you must´ve read my mind!
I thank you big and just have a look at the wonderful... and...

The first one features Virginia´s largest botanical garden - oh, have to look if our (small one) is open again!

The next one is Nella Larsen.

She was a nurse and a librarian AND she published two novels.
And certainly her "color" is  a reminder of today...
I´ll never understand why "we" go at each other for skin color or else. We are one people.
She was born 1891 and studied as mixed-race descendant at University - chapeau!

I love these history-lessons I missed out on our poor, dumb schools!

I´m pretty sure the last stamp is on the Huntington Library - don´t we all love books?

And really. If I don´t find a job, guess where you´ll find me? Botanical garden (or, if still closed balcony) with a book!

This library has some whopping "120 acres (49 ha) of specialized botanical landscaped gardens, most notably the "Japanese Garden", the "Desert Garden", and the "Chinese Garden"." (wiki)

When can we travel again?

Why can I not find such stamps here?!

Thank you Mae.

I hate mail, but this was wonderful mail.

Henry 🦁...

I thank you for the big smile!
