Care For A COHIBA?

Right, if you smoke such a cigar, an ashtray like that isn´t the style!
We don´t smoke anyways (The cigar must be over 18 years old?. And yes, is from Cuba... Ingo loves that place... ), we used the ashtrays for something totally different, certainly, as you can guess by the looks of the one to the left.

We chopped our way through beef and onions:

Ingo made some dough on a mirror (biggest plate we have) with a half-full Darth Vader (thermos jug ,going "hff, hmffff", ya know, "I´m your father!"):

Then cut out circles:

And in the end we had: Pie!

Yum!

Took over 2 hours, a whole lotta work!
I really wished you could buy ready-to-eat-Pies here!
The "forms" turned out to be reusable. Problem here is: you get either Muffin-Forms, which are too small, or huge ones... hence the ashtrays.

Next day was quick meals: Still a bit Aussie-related:
Cracker with Cheddar (Chedddar is a rather new cheese in the supermarket):

And in the evening simply Toast Hawaii:

Yeah, it´s all about food!

Today is h.o.t, btw!
Too hot for gym, even too hot for a bike ride - at least for us, since we´re not used to temps changing so much so fast!
Actually it´s not even 30C but rain sticks in the air, my, is it humid!

Later on we´ll go for a walk though - yay for summer, actually I so do love even this weather :-)

The Post To Come

... Birthday dinner - a Tom Tasty-bread, yum!

Followed by a Cohiba:

Note the shirt :-)

And this was followed by some "girly-champagne" in a halloween-cup:

Bat Me!

I did not misspell and I don´t want anyone to "beat" me.
Ingo enjoyed a real COHIBA from Cuba (oh, last time we visited was 2010!).

Yes, I wear a pullover in Cuba! It was a tad chili and the Canadian friends, a Mother-Daughter-duo we met (or rather they us), borrowed me this. Yes, it can get cool in Cuba!

We had a mini-bit of 7 year old Cuban rum (from the German grocery) on our balcony here in Braunschweig the other rare summer-night and Henry came out with us to give us some sweet candle-light.

King Frog had no idea what waits for him! (See last post).

We sure have a...

 ... bat-detector, with which I join
Eileen´s Saturday Critters.
And yes. King Frog still has a walnut left between his feet.
Peanut (our squirrel(s)) took but the one from the crown.

I love bats.

In Australia we saw fruit bats, they´re brown and furry and might give you a tired blink when you pass under them.

At Ingo´s old place a baby-bat sadly got stuck under a plate. Luckily I did the dishes right after the BBQ and poor fella got hung on a tree outside and was gone next day.

At Volkswagen, my customer back then, one by accident made it inside - we safely got him/her out as well.

And here we see them, the detector´s alarm goes off often - but it´s too dark and they´re too far away for pics, so I sketched the one that hangs in the kitchen since ages 🦇

It lives here like forever and certainly is plastic.
To Critters!

Maybe the candle-light was too shiny... Don´t be sad...

Don´t Work So Hard

Pic is unrelated, kinda – though it was work, too, especially for Ingo who had to open the frames. Was a cheapy, and for a reason! But a beautiful arrangement, no?
I had my annual meeting with the boss yesterday. In, I guess over 40C – that´s at least how it felt in that room.

Before the meeting, teamleader asked me over so we´re properly prepared.
Well. If you ask for more money, you must have a reason other than inflation, I think.

I work with a new system, we all had to learn by doing more or less, liferay, a powerful tool.
I have the old system I still have to keep updated, the customer has extra wishes, super speedy, highest prio, but, well I got it all done.

And instead of being happy with that, boss told me not to work so hard – and teamleader even joined in.
I might get depression, get sick or even suffer burn out.

I am a happy person I see no problem here. If I felt it´s too much, I´d say something and… I was with the project from the first days, it´s my “baby”, kinda and I don´t want it not run as it´s best.

And, well, we know how to relax, too!
Ok, that was a huge exception. We don´t smoke anymore, me for around 10 years and Ingo … ? 6?
Funny enough, Ingo really enjoyed:
We didn´t get dizzy, nothing. Maybe cause those Cohiba are… nearly 30 years old? Ingo bought them on his first trip to Cuba in the 80´s!

Guess I didn´t enjoy sooooo much that very moment ;-)
The heat is back. Hopefully my sunflowers make it to blooming this year, with summer starting so darn late!
Gotta go watering and read a book on the balcony now :-)
