Swap Challenge - Wearable Art

For the July Swap Challenge on ATC forum - hosted by moi! - I decided we should make some wearable art. I chose to make this necklace. The heart is made of utee, the 2 holes made with a hot embossing tool (knew it would come in handy for something!) then strung onto a thin black lace. The round beads are wood except for the pearl ones and the long beads are made from paper (K&Co) which was cut into strips and rolled then brushed with glaze. The fastening is a wooden bead and loop.

Fridge magnet

The base material is perspex with several colours of embossing powder then copper utee on the left side stamped in black, embellishment added then the edges dipped in copper utee to frame.

Tags & tiles

I have been playing with the melt pot again - definately not as easy as it looks! More practice required! I find the clear utee goes a bit yellow if it is reheated for one thing and boy doesn't the utee set quick once it is out of the pot!! Anyway made the tags for a swap on Craft Swap Forum, the first one melting platinum & inter blue utee then adding gems and stamping into it with the butterfly stamp. Middle one has an image dipped in clear utee & the last just the edges dipped to give a "frame". The squares at the bottom of the picture are little tiles made in a silicone ice cube tray - I quite like those!

Fat pages - male theme

Three fat pages were required for Andreas' swap on LTD - 1 green 1 blue and 1 freestyle with a man/male theme. The green is a browny green background paper overstamped with stripes to create a plaid pattern then the picture of the 2 men captured in utee and edged with gold - a bit rustic looking but I like it!The blue one is a background coloured with a dye-based ink then stamped with a Hampton Arts "sun" stamp in silver topped with the oriental warrior. The freestyle one is a paper by Dovecraft topped with the military man picture which was dipped in utee.
Guess who had a melt pot for Christmas then.......................ha ha!
