Ike's Art New Release Blog Hop

DAY #3 OF 31DOH - CLICK HERE!

Ike's Art is releasing an amazing bunch of Zombie images.... but not your regular zombies.... most of these are otherwise cute little animals! There are 16 new images and if you hop along with us you'll see what the Design Team have created with some of them for this release.

Here's the blog roll! You might have come to me from Shell, you could pop back to BD to start or hop on from here to Samara!
You can also see the previews of the new images over at the Ike's World Challenges Blog!

I have used the Zombie Cat, Zombie Frog and Zombie Parrot. I put together the frog card first and printed up the sentiment on the computer.... then released later that the sentiment worked even better with the parrot.... take a look, I hope it makes you chuckle!
My images are all coloured with Promarkers. This Frog card uses papers from Chillingsworth Manor by Echo Park and some Candi to finish.
'The Squawking Dead' card - I giggle every time I think of that! - uses papers from Graphic 45 Steampunk Spells and An Eerie Tale pads. The borders are cut using the Cameo.
And finally the cat card uses paper also from Chillingsworth Manor by Echo Park, the Drippy Goo punch from Martha Stewart and a graveyard scene cut on the Cameo.

Thanks for looking!

A Friendship Hop for Lisa

Welcome to my blog this morning! Today's post is a wee bit different. One of my very dearest crafty friends is in the hospital. She's had a run of ill health and incompetent doctors and been in and out of hospital for what seems like forever. Finally, she's got a great team helping her out and trying to get her better but she's still in the hospital, hooked up to IV's and monitors and being tested and poked and prodded so I thought she needed some cheering up!

So we have arranged a blog hop today! Lisa Tyrell is one of my girls at Left of Center and I have the immense pleasure of being on a few other design teams with her and we all miss her terribly! I sent out the smoke signals and got in touch with the ladies at Left of Center, A Step in the Dark, PunkyouGirl, Lelli-bot Crafts, The East Wind and Lisa's Facebook Group 'Mad Crafters Giggles' and told them my plan! There are some folks on holidays and unwell themselves who all send Lisa their love and best wishes. The rest are all listed here and will be posting projects on their blogs today for Lisa.
My card uses the RagDoll image from Dilly Beans coloured with Promarkers. The skull paper is from Pebbles inc, the 'LISA' letters are from the more recent Gorjuss A4 kit from DoCrafts, the purple pearlescent and blue metallic cards are from my stash. The skull border is a cut file for my new Silhouette Cameo!
I will enter it in the following challenges:
Dilly Beans - Skulls

And here's the blogroll! You are here at Maureen and that's the start, Jackie is next - it would be great to see you all hopping around the fabulous creations from the rest of the ladies. If you're short on time, please visit Lisa's blog at the end of the list and leave her some love!

Favourite Holiday Challenge, Blog Hop & Giveaway

Welcome to my DT post for Crafting by Designs! We have a fabulous treat, this is a challenge and Blog Hop in one event! We really hope you will join us - why not pop over to the Crafting by Designs blog for the rules and some DT inspiration and then pop back here to me for the hop!

Here is the blog roll and if you leave and comment with your email address on all the participating blogs, you could win a prize, even if you dont enter a project in the 'Favourite Holiday' challenge.

Here's the line up of the blogs to visit:
Sharon - Scrap Happy

The blog hop and challenge are sponsored this week by Fred She Said, Doodle Pantry and Di's Digi Stamps.

Now for my project! You might have realised from some of my previous Crafting by Designs creations, I love my darker crafting and Halloween as a holiday gives lots of scope for that! So this is the holiday I have chosen to blog today.

I have used 'Emma the Cat' with sentiment from Fred She Said and used papers from Echo Park's Chillingsworth Manor pad. I used the 'perforation' setting on my paper trimmer to separate the sentiment from the image and layered everything with black pearlescent paper. The image is coloured with promarkers and the card edged with Mowed Lawn and Black Soot DI. The card is finished with my favourite - Card Candi!
Now, I had hoped to make another couple of Halloween projects to share but time has gotten away from me, so I thought I would share a few of my Halloween themed cards made for Crafting By Designs over the last year or so. I hope you like them!

This is an image from Ike's Art - I love the black and red for Halloween too, gives it a scarier feel than the orange... of course the dripping blood helps too!

This was one of my first Halloweeny themed cards for Crafting by Designs and uses a Lacy Sunshine image.

Although this is a birthday card, I love the black and purple has a Halloween colour palette and the spiderwebs finish it off nicely!

This card was for the Crafting by Designs Things With Wings Challenge and uses an image from Sami Stamps.

Well, thank you so much for visiting my blog today! I hope you love the Halloween vibe here and I hope you will leave a comment below for a chance to win at the end of the hop! Make sure you do the same for the other blogs on the list and enter a project for more chances to win!

I would also love to send one of you my Fred She Said card from today and a few Halloween themed crafty things! So if you'd like to win that, mention it in your comment!

Next up is Lisa - Paper Bliss!

Happy Holiday Hop!!

Bloody Valentine Blog Hop with Smeared and Smudged Day 3

Welcome to the third and final day of the Bloody Valentine Blog Hop arranged by Smeared and Smudged.

My third project is quite a Clean and Simple card. I bought this fabulous image from Delicious Doodles after seeing it on a card by Wendy and thinking it was a great image, and it totally is! I printed it larger than I expected, coloured it with various red Promarkers, some green, browns and black for the blood and blood pool! I used a dark red 6x6 card base and stamped it randomly with the Visible Image 'Ripped Fishnets' background stamp and used a black inkpad on the edges of the card and the stamped image.

And then, nothing looked right on the card with it! I played about with some bits and for most of the day, the image has sat on the background and looked great as it was. And so I left it as it was - of course, as fate would have it, I glued the image on squinty!!

Now, If you are hopping the next stop is Fiona. If you have joined me randomly, why not jump back to the start and see what else is on offer! Here's the blog roll -

Bloody Valentine Blog Hop with Smeared and Smudged Day 2

Welcome to Day 2 of the Bloody Valentine Blog Hop arranged by Smeared and Smudged. This is a three day hop, so there'll be another post from me tomorrow! If you are looking for my Crafting By Designs DT Post you'll have to keep scrolling down!

Today I have made a tag. It started life as a light blue colour so that had to be changed! I used Evergreen Bough and Fired Brick distress ink pads and put a bit of colour onto a craft mat, this was spritzed with water and the tag passed through it. I then did the very same with the image and sentiment. This little guy is a Smeared Ink Grumpie with his matching sentiment - I think from the Occasions Grumpies set. I coloured the hearts with a Crimson Promarker and then added some Xmas Red Stickles.

The edges of both the tag and the image are blacked with a black ink pad. The squared stamping on the tag is a Tim Holtz stamp and the tag is finished with some red raffia and black organza.
I am linking my card up to the brand new Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers first challenge - Anti-Valentine

Bloody Valentine Blog Hop with Smeared and Smudged Day 1

Morning everyone! Today, I am taking part in the Smeared and Smudged Bloody Valentine Blog Hop! I have two cards to show you today. The first uses an image called La Rosa Muerta from Delicious Doodles. I have coloured it in shades of purple, grey and black Promarkers and layered it up on Aubergine coloured card and Kaisercraft 13th Hour papers. I've embellished the card with a Cheery Lynn corner die and Tim Holtz Movers and Shapers Flourish.

I am linking my card up to the brand new Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers first challenge - Anti-Valentine!

The next card I've made is using an image from Eiglas called Demon Lover and I've kept this one simple. I've used a DL sized card on its side, covered it in black pearlescent paper and used the Martha Stewart Drippy Goo punch to edge some red card. I've stamped this with a 'love' stamp from my stash and the word 'Demon' is made using Craftwork Cards alphabet stamps. I've coloured the image using promarkers, you cant see his fangs very well in my photo, but hopefully the blood dripping down his chin gives you an idea!

Smeared and Smudged December Member Blog Hop!

Hi! I am so glad to be doing this post today! I had hoped last month that I would be joining the Smeared and Smudged 12 Days of Creepmas blog hop but some problems at the start of the month including major tooth ache and multiple dentist visits meant that unfortunately I had to pull out. What joy when I saw that there was a member blog hop this month and I figured if I couldn't hop the whole month, I could at least join this one and use one of the several images I aquired for Creepmas!

The theme for this hop is Anything Goes and I'm sure if you pop back to the beginning of the list below and have a look you will see lots of different projects and creations to give you lots of inspiration! I will be hopping round the links later today for a look too! There was no prerequisite to use a Smeared Ink image, however, I got the 'Gonna Get You Snowman' digi and just had to colour it up and pop it on something. I have made a wall hanging and just as I write this my daughter is looking at it and asked 'is that for Christmas or Halloween?' So I can only assume I've got this Creepmas thing right! hahaha

I used papers from DoCrafts Gorjus range, Kaisercraft 13th Hour pad and Pebbles Thirty One pad. I added some stamps to the background from the My Minds Eye Happy Haunting set, some Onyx liquid pearls, black organza and some bling from my stash. The image is coloured with Promarkers with some Star Dust Stickles for seasonal sparkle!

I hope you like this, why not jump back to the start and check out the rest of the hop, or if you have come here from Shoni, the next stop is Rocio. Here is the full line-up incase you get lost!

Black Dragon
Lyneen
Kay
Julia
Laura
Evil Edna
Shoni
Maureen
Rocio
Kapree
Fiona
Susan

I will be entering my hanging in the Smudgy Antics Anything Goes with a Smeared Ink stamp challenge for this fortnight too.

Skull Appreciation Day 2013 Blog Hop!!!

Hi everyone!!! And a big hello to anyone joining me for the first time today hopping along on my first ever Blog Hop! Today is Skull Appreciation Day and in association with Smeared Ink, I am taking part in their blog hop - you can find the complete list of blogs at the bottom of this post!

*Edit* My 3 year old decided to get in on the skully action today - he went to bed last night with his super skull pyjamas, so with his best catalogue pose, here is Callum joining us on the hop!!

I found out about this event quite late on but wanted to put the work in and come up with something unique and personal and while net surfing, I kept coming back to 'El dia de los muertos' or 'Day of the Dead' and the vibrant, colourful masks and face painting that is associated with this carnival. I got out my sketch book and had a go!!! I have drawn this free hand so its a bit squinty but overall i'm happy with the outcome... now what to do with it!!?

If you've been here before, you'll know that I've been making wall hangings recently and so I thought that's what I would do for today! I cut some chipboard slightly larger than A5 to fit the mask and covered it with some red free paper and blackened the edges with Black Soot distress ink.

I've added some black bling, printed the words 'dia de muertos' using a set of stamps from Craftwork Cards and black memento ink, and embellished with various flowers and bobble head pins.

The image was sprayed with silver spray and sparkle before mounting, there is also some red and gold stickles on various areas of the mask, and black stickles on the flowers as well. Some black lace attached to the back of the hanging finishes this off.

While i was photographing this, my son's friend was admiring it and asking if i could do something cool with skulls for Father's Day which is the 16th of June here and so, I think I rose to the challenge!

This is a stamp from Dimension Fourth which I stamped with a versamark ink pad and heat embossed in silver. I covered the card blank in a free paper which actually has skulls on it but its a bit hard to see with the ribbon and image on there.

Some black and silver paper for matting and layering and a silver peel-off to mark the sentiment. I've also added some White Opal liquid pearls which I think is quite silvery.

Well, I hope you've enjoyed my offering for Skull Appreciation Day!! If you are hopping with us, the next stop is Karen. If you've landed here by chance, the full blog list is below!
Have a great day!
