Indian Craft Room Recepie challenge!

Hey there!
There  is still time to play the Indian Craft room recipie challenge and win some awesome prizes from the Craftshop!

To play you have to look at the recipie given below and create a Christmas or new year card or project.

Here is my second dose of inspiration for all you crafters out there!

To make this card, I used patterned paper from the Doodlebug Design Inc. 6"x6" paper pack. I cut an embossed the white wreath using a Cuttlebug die and embossing folder. The tag was cut using an MFT die and heat embossed with snowflakes from an Inkadinkado stamp set. The stocking was cut from patterned paper and paper pieced with white card stock.  I added some gold ribbon and sequins to finish off the card.
The sentiment was stamped in black and heat embossed with clear embossing powder ( a trick I learned from Jennifer Mcguire).

I hope you feel inspired to create!
You can find a lot more inspiration from our DT here on the Indian Craft room page.

Thanks so much for stopping by..
Have a good night!

Diwali card reveal continues!

Good mornning!
Continuing with my diwali card reveal...
Here is a card with a fun chandbali (earrring) motif!
It is a stamp that I got made from my local stamp manufacturer many years ago.
I stamped the image on white cardstock with versamark ink and then watercoloured around it with Camlin watercolours.
I then cut up the panel to  use on two cards. I then added little gold dots with my Signo gold pen one one card and with white acrylic paint on one for interest.
To create a background, I stamped the same image with Memento's London Fog ink.
I finished the cards with sentiments from the Hero Arts 'Holiday Sayings' stamp set. I used a left over scrap to make a tag as well.

I am submitting this card for a few challenges...
Less is More 'Jewel' challenge...missed it!

Super sized hug

I have a tag today which I made for the CASology Cue card EAT challenge.

The stamp set is from Paper Smooches and the tag was cut using an old circular tag die…don't remember the name..oops!

I stamped and coloured the sandwich with Versafine Onyx black ink and Camel watercolours, before fussy cutting and popping up with 3D foam tape.

Fun, don't you think?

Quick tags

I have been struggling  with a creative block for the last couple of months and it is really frustrating!
So, I decided to try making some tags...a smaller and less daunting project!
Here is what I came up with for my official Craft Adda Blog post....

To make these tags, I used Spellbinders Nestabilities dies,  rubber stamps from PTI, Hero Arts, Lawn Fawn, and sentiment and shape dies from Spellbinders, Penny black and Paper smooches.
I used inks from Memento and Versafine and Derwent watercolour pencils.
Hope these tags inspire you to create!

Have a good night!

Mint cupcake and macarons!

My mojo has gone for a walk and is taking its time coming back!!!
I am trying to cope by making tags!(among other things!)
They are smaller projects which seem less daunting!

So, I made this tag today for the "Less is More" Chocolate and Mint challenge.

The tag was cut using Spellbinders nest abilities. The Chocolate cupcake wrapper was cut from a paper I downloaded from Sandra's blog 'MeinLilaPark'. It was a free DIY print.
Perfect for this project I thought!!
As I did not have mint coloured paper, I cut out the 'cake' from white paper, covered it with versa mark and heat embossed it with mint embossing powder.
The entire cupcake and rose bud etc is cut using the Scrapping Cottage Cottage Cutz 'Stacked candies' die.
The sentiment is from Kaisercraft and the background is from Hero Arts 'Designblocks'.
I used chocolate coloured Rafia and mint coloured bakers twine to finish the tag.
Fun, isn't it?!

Oh dear...I just realised I have used colours other than the specified chocolate and mint.

So, I made another card for the same challenge...

For this card, I heat embossed the macarons (from the Avery  Elle 'bonjour' stamp set.)with mint embossing powder. I coloured it in with brown water colour and stamped the sentiment from Hero Arts (Be happy today) stamp set with Rich cocoa ink from Memento. The paper is the same I used above and for the mint coloured strip, I used a technique which I learnt from the awesome Jennifer Mcguire...to heat emboss a piece of paper with the required colour and then cut a strip from it.

I am so happy with this card!!!!!

Am also entering the tag for the Case Study challenge.

Making tags using hand carved stamps

Hey all!
I have been having fun making tags using some of the hand carved stamps that I had made a while ago.

some of the stamps are really tiny and extremely simple and I have managed to make some fab backgrounds with them.
I added some free digi flowers which I  downloaded and coloured with copics, some gemstones, some charms, handmade paper flowers, foam letters( from EK success), feathers, buttons, brads and twine for extra pop!

I am submitting this card for the Color Q challenge.

Hope you have had fun reading this post!

Online card classes Days 7-10

Today I decided to use the techniques that I learnt on Online Card  Classes water colours for cardmakers Days 7-10, to make tags instead of cards.

What fun I had!!!

I took inspiration from Stamping Mathilda's post "60 easy ways to top your tags" to make these tags.

Here is what I came up with!

Free hand painting...flicking colour onto the paper...I tried to create a branch...
Sentiment is from Hero Arts.

Faux water hand painting...The stamp and sentiment are from Hero Arts.

Hand painted sentiment...stamp from Hero Arts. I used circles punched out of previous water coloured panels to create accents.

Free hand painting...love this one! The sentiment is a combination of stamps from Stampendous and Hero Arts!

Faux hand painting! After colouring the flower, I stamped over it with memento rich cocoa ink to add definition. I then used water colour pencils to enhance the colours.
Stamp from Stampendous; Sentiment from Hero Arts.

Faux hand painting...These beautiful roses are from Hero Arts...am using it for the first time!

Tag a bag / envelope!

I am playing three challenges tonight, and I am thrilled with the way my project turned out.

For the Friday Mashup(Eat Cake and colour) Challenge , I created a tag with a faux washi tape cake.

To create the cake, I stamped and heat embossed the washi tape stamps ( stamps from Unity stamp Co.) onto white card and fussy cut around them and popped them on one on top of the other with 3D foam tape.
I then added the 3D star sticker from Recollections stickers as the cake topper.

The background stamp is of course the fabulous designblock from HeroArts.

To make the envelope I stamped  the background stamp on Vellum and then folded it into an envelope.
As you can see this serves as a cash gift envelope.

I am also entereing this project for the Blog named Hero embell-ope challenge and the
CAS-ual Friday CFC 118 Bag and tag challenge

Good night!

Tag U'r It!

Hey everyone!
I am playing quite a few challenges today...
Here is my submission for the 'Tag U'r It' challenge 59 from Love to Create, Less is more 'use scallops' challenge, Simon Says Stamp 'Birthday' challenge, and the Paper Players tic-tac-toe challenge from Jaydee.

As you can see, I have used the centre line from the grid...Blue and Pink, A tag and Birthday.

I struggled with this one a bit, but I think it has come through quite nicely.

For the base, I clear embossed the Damask stamp from Inkadinkado.I distressed the base with TimHoltz Tea Dye and Vintage photo distress inks.
The tag, which I cut using Spellbinders Nestabilities, I stamped with Memento Danube Blue, to add texture.
The pink flower is cut using the Spellbinders Shapeabilities die.
the sentiment is from Hero Arts 'Birthday Messages' stamp set.

I've been inspired

After many days of a major creative block, I received inspiration in the most amazing way! As I was dropping my daughter off to her story writing class, I passed a young girl on the street wearing a t-shirt with colourful tags printed on it.  It was just a glance, but it triggered off a wave of creativity! Here is the result...

Stamps are from Hero Arts "small variety alphabet" stamp set. The stamp '2' is from the Stampendous "calligraphy alphabet" stamp set. The buildings (with the wires connecting them...a common sight in India!), I have doodled, as also the clouds and the little tiny birds(crows...also a common sight in India!)

                                                                  *************

This following of cards is inspired by Godelieve Tijskens of http://stampingmathilda.blogspot.com/2011/02/old-favorites-are-back.html
The stamps that she used were from Hero Arts, but since I did not have the stamp, I improvised. I used the same peek-a-boo concept....I created  a stencil by punching out a square from a piece of card. I then used it to draw a square. Then using the stencil as a mask I stamped the Hero Arts "Hydrangea" stamp in different ways. Then I coloured it in, cut out the squares and stuck them on a white card. The sentiment is from the  Hero Arts "everyday sayings" stamp set.

Here I've used the same technique, using a stamp from Cherish Stamps. I've made matching envelopes too!

                                                                 **************

Here I have used the Hero Arts "Antique Brocade" cling stamp to create a background. To follow the pattern, I punched out two cosmos flowers and folded them over to create a carnation. I punched
out a tulip to form the base of the flower. I then stamped the  background on another piece of cardstock and cut out a frame using my Spellbinders Nestabilities scalloped rectangles. To add interest in the flower, I have coloured it a bit with orange and yellow coloured pencils and also
shaded the tulip with darker and lighter green coloured pencils. i finished off the project by adding some green gemstones.
