The Band:
Ian Anderson: Flute & Vocals
Martin Barre: Guitar
Matthew Pegg: Bass Guitar
Andy Giddings: Keyboards
Doane Perry: Drums

A lunchtime show to promote the 25th Anniversary Box Set, which had just been released a few days earlier. Later that afternoon (that same evening?) Ian & co. taped their performance of Living In The Past for Jay Leno's Tonight Show, aired that night. All around, excellent performances, especially considering that the bassist was actually the bassist's son - Dave Pegg was touring with his other band, Fairport Convention, and so his son Matthew filled in. Soundboard quality, an excellent boot.

The names in parentheses are those on the bootleg artwork.

Anyone unfamiliar with Monkey's Audio (ape) files, please check out www.monkeysaudio.com. Despite the (outdated) note in the Dime WIKI, .ape files are multi-platform, supported by PC, Mac, Linux/Unix, etc. and plugins are available for every major audio player which also supports Flac, etc. In my experience, they are far less susceptible to corruption than Flac files, and a heckuva lot more pleasant to use than shn.

Mick Taylor: Leverkusen Jazzfest 1997 (FLAC)

A.K.A Leverkussen Blues Festival May 3, 1997
Some say when he played with the Rolling Stones that they produced their best music. Somewhat out of the limelight, the former Rolling Stones guitarist from the 70's
plays a terrific (albeit short- 41 minutes) set at the Jazz/Blues festival. Includes a great version of "Can't You Hear Me Knocking" from his Rolling stones days featured on "Sticky Fingers").

Sound quality excellent.

The band includes:
Mick Taylor Vocals, Guitar
Robert Ahwai Guitar
Michael Bailey Bass Guitar
Hilary Briggs Hammond Organ, Keyboards
Jeff Allen Drums

Setlist:
Going South 16:39

Can't You Hear Me Knocking 6:56
Blind Willie McTell 10:27 (fades out)

Running time 41 min.

Marc Bolan's detractors never understood how he seemed in such total command of his game, not even after Electric Warrior's September 1971 release. This outtakes album shows why: Bolan's ability to meld garage smarts and a glam pop beat, which holds true for the two versions of his big American hit, "Get It On." The opening version is fairly identical to the finished article, but its pre-sweetened, six-minute companion is raw, rowdy, and untamed listening. Drummer Bill Legend and bassist Steve Currie had only just joined in the spring of 1971. To tighten things up, Bolan ran them through the feverish '50s-era paces of "Honey Don't". Two versions of "Monolith" further impressions of T. Rex locked in a garage. Anyone writing off Bolan as just another jaded teen-beat merchant will be in for a rude surprise: he's totally in command and always looking for a new angle -- such as on the electric "Cosmic Dancer." When that idea didn't pan out, Bolan recut it with a heavily orchestrated arrangement. But that's the mark of a creative mindset -- use what works and toss the discards. This is an essential snapshot behind the scenes of a classic rock album, and a great deal of fun, too.

The Rolling Stones: Oakland '69 (Soundboard) FLAC

Free Image Hosting at allyoucanupload.com
Free Image Hosting at allyoucanupload.com

Maybe you've heard about "Wolfgang's Vault," the website playing music and selling memorabilia from Bill Graham's archives. Here's a show they don't have, for whatever reason, but Bill Graham presented it on KSAN back in late October, 1972.

It was recorded at the Oakland Coliseum, November 9, 1969, 2nd show. By coincidence, it's the exact same show which was recorded from the audience by the guys who would go on to start the TMOQ record label. When their record came out, "Liver Than You'll Ever Be," people thought it was a soundboard recording because the quality was so good. Read the provided Rolling Stone Magazine review; they speculated that it must have been recorded "by someone involved in setting up the Stones' own sound system."

They were wrong. "Liver Than" was just a great audience recording for the time. But maybe the reviewer somehow heard about this recording and got his stories mixed up.

Around October 1972, the Fillmore West was closing. KSAN played some material from the "Good Old Days" from Bill Graham; see provided flyer. A friend of mine recorded this off the air. He told me people at the time were disappointed because a lot of the material played was actually from records, not the concerts listed.

This is an incomplete soundboard recording, totally different from "Liver Than." When I got this on CDR back in 2003, it ran too fast. My friend said that's the way they broadcast it. I matched the pitch to my low gen. of the audience recording. The complete lineage is something like this:

SB (1969) > FM (1972) > reel (1972) > CDR (2003) > PC editing (2003) > CDR (2003) > FLAC (2007)

01. Sympathy For The Devil
02. Stray Cat Blues
03. Prodigal Son
04. You Gotta Move
05. Love In Vain
06. Live With Me
07. Gimme Shelter
08. Little Queenie
09. Satisfaction

Jethro Tull: KBFH 1980 (FLAC)

From a "King Bisquit Flower Hour" broadcast, here it is one of the best performance of the "A" tour. Sadly it's short, but -hey- it's better than nothing! I ripped the show from an unknown generation (but probably low) cassette, and I think the sound is A/A-. I decided to cut the announcer, except for the first few seconds on the first track and the last one. An excellent show, expecially the long violin jam on "Protect & Survive"! Maybe someday someone will seed here the complete audience version, if it circoulates. Some copies have the first two tracks switched, but I think it depends from which broadcast has been taken!
Note that "Black Sunday" 's reprise is here, but the song itself was not included on the broadcast!

01 Songs From The Wood [03:45]
02 Crossfire [03:51]
03 Heavy Horses [06:55] ~~~~ fade out applied, in order to cut the announcer
04 Batteries Not Included [03:34] ~~~~ fade in applied, in order to cut the announcer
05 Protect And Survive [05:43]
06 Bungle In The Jungle [03:59] ~~~~ last track on side 1, nothing missing
07 Guitar Solo [02:43] ~~~~ first track on side 2, nothing missing
08 Aqualung [08:07]
09 Locomotive Breath [05:21]
10 Black Suday (Reprise) [02:01]

David Bowie: Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum (UPGRADE) FLAC

Uniondale, NY, USA 23rd March 1976
**UPGRADED VERSION**

Disc
01 Station To Station
02 Suffragette City
03 Fame
04 Word On A Wing
05 Stay
06 Waiting For The Man
(Missing: Queen Bitch, Life On Mars?, Five Years)
07 Panic In Detroit
08 Changes
09 TVC 15
10 Diamond Dogs
11 Rebel Rebel
12 The Jean Genie

Note: This is the upgraded version of "The Return Of The Thin White Duke" with three additional tracks:
Track 06 was added from a bootleg "The Freakiest Show". According to the booklet, this is an outtake of the official compilation "Rarestonebowie".
Tracks 05 and 07 were added from a bootleg, "Suffragette City" which has been commonly circulating.
All three tracks above were channel-swapped to match to other tracks using MusicStudioIndependent.
Before the advent of the "Wolfgang's Vault" source used on " The Return Of The Thin White Duke ", the first three songs were MONO on any circulating copies including
"Suffragette City" and "Resurrection on 84th Street". But the "Wolfgang's Vault" source is missing three other songs available on other bootlegs. So I decided to compile the three available sources to make the concert as most complete as possible.
I did NOT use the following official takes from the same concert for this torrent to make it freely tradable:
"Queen Bitch" available on "Rarestonebowie".
"Stay" and "Word On A Wing" available on the reissued version of "Station To Station" by Ryko.
Actually this official "Stay" is a longer version than the one aired.

Transfer info:
Master> HD> FLAC 6> FTP> Make torrent2> you!

This is a Soundboard recording of the 1st night of the mighty Sabbath's "Cross Purposes" tour. It is complete except for the encore which was "Sabbath Bloody Sabbath".
While available as silver boot press, these files were made from the master that was used to produce the silver, so I thought I'd post them. My source has asked to remain nameless.
This was an informal ftp trade, so I don't know how it was transferred to HD, but the rest of the lineage info is completely accurate.
There is no artwork for this particular version, but the artwork for the silver version is above.

Frank Sinatra: Sessions Of L.A. Is My Lady (FLAC)

New York April, 1984

The first file lasts 47:15 minutes and the second 45:16. So this seems to be from a cassette (90 minutes). You can hear a tape flip at the end of disc 1. I believe this one is not widely in circulation. I never heard about it before. The sound is excellent but there is some tape noise.

Kiss: The Lost Alive II Album 1977 (upgrade)

Free Image Hosting at allyoucanupload.com
Free Image Hosting at allyoucanupload.com

One of the best bootlegs available! Professionally recorded, readily mixed and mastered the material was obviously planned as the official ALIVE II release. The project was then cancelled and one year later the well-known studio-polished ALIVE II album was released.
Hearing the original recordings one can say, that most of the stuff on ALIVE II are overdubs layed down in the studio. Songs on this boot are way rougher and more kick-ass versions than on the "commercialized" official version.
Recordings were done at Tokyo's Budo Kan Hall during the 1977 Tour. Studio songs from side four are alternative versions or different mixes. This "album" was originally called Rock and Roll Party in Tokyo and was planned for Japan-only release. It was probbaly scrapped for lack of enough new material.

Kiss: Alive III Uncut House Feed (FLAC)

Free Image Hosting at allyoucanupload.com

Hello all, This is the "uncut" complete house feed show from the Palace Of Auburn Hills on the night they recorded part of Alive III. I truly enjoyed this show because at the end they let off probably the most pyro I had even seen, and I started seeing Kiss back in 1976.The funiest part was during "Domino" Gene does his little rap in the middle and says "Looky, Looky, there's tits over there". I also noticed that Paul used alot more profanity than I had ever heard him say as well.If you listen carefully like most soundboard/house feeds, you can hear adjustments being made during the show (especially the 1st song) and at other times where mics would not be turned on(Gene or Paul switching mics,or singing into one they were not expecting them too). Great all around show.

Notes
"Wrongly dated for far too long, it's now time to set the record straight. VH never played another show at the Civic after this date, so throw away all those 12/20/77 average sounding boots, and settle into this experience, complete with rehearsals."

Tracks 1-3 are instrumental tracks played during rehearsal.
Tracks 4 & 5 are tracks from rehearsal with DLR on vocals.
Tracks 6-16 are from the show itself.

Quality is very very good. This is the one and only copy of the last Pasadena Civic show you will want/need.
The artwork indicates, "Digital Remastering by Wooda".
Released in July 2004.
