DT Charisma - Buttons and Bows

I've been on holiday and completely mixed up the dates for the new challenge at Charisma. And when I realized it the Turkish Internet wouldn't let me access Blogger. But better late than never, right? So here it goes, my inspiration for the buttons and bows challenge.

My sweet friend, Elin, came up with the idea for a tag pocket easel dresser card and I've been thinking about trying it since the first time I saw it, but I haven't had the opportunity to do it until now when I needed a card/present for a christening.

The cute little box has an easel on top, made with GoKreate die and gorgeous Inkido papers. When I took a closer look at the papers I realized that they were propably ment for weddings, but it wasn't all that obvious, so I guess it will be ok.

The top card is sewn with machine around three edges to make a pocket for the tag. I've die cut a Spellbinders Stately Circle and stamped a text with a stamp from Papirdesign. A few flowers from WOC and some pearls are the only decor apart from the seambinding and Divine Twine bow and button from my stash on the tag.

To make the easel stand I die cut an oval with Spellbinders Floral Ovals where I put the name of the baby and the date of the christening and adhered it with foam pads.

I had planned to use a TH knob on the drawer, but since this was finished on holiday and the handles was at home, I had to improvise and ended up with just a piece of seambinding to open the drawer.

Here I've taken the tag out of the pocket and stamped it with another sentiment from Papirdesign. I've also left room for a personal greeting.

Inside the drawer is the room for the gift.

I made a card slightly wider than the drawer to  make the card bend up and partially cover the knot for the handle.

It also makes a nice display for the little bracelet we gave her. And I stamped a sentiment from Papirdesign on the background.

When the gift card is removed it shows the bottom of the drawer with another piece of the same paper from Inkido.

And that's it. Super cute if I may say so myself.

Now I hope you'll join in the challenge at Charisma, even though it's just a few days left of the challenge.

Ok, hvilken farge hadde gavekortet? KNALLgrønt! Oi...
*Charisma has got a new challenge out today and now anything goes! So let summertime be summertime for a while and get on board with a fun competition and great prizes you too!

Summertime is wedding time and I was so lucky to be invited to one last weekend. And I got the mission to make a card on behalf of my family who all chipped in on a gift certificate for the couple. No stress, I thought. But then came the criterias. It had to room all the papers that followed the gift certificate. Sure, rectangular format shouldn't be a big problem. And it should preferably match the gift certificate. Ok, what colour was the gift certificate? Shocking GREEN! Oh...*

*For some strange reason I was really caught up in colours and couldn't for the life of me imagine a wedding card in strong green. I think I must have been in vacation mode or fainted in the moment, maybe because I haven't done much crafting the past month? It didn't occurred to me until I rummaged my paper piles that I could go for something as neutral as white!*

Alt annet kom mye senere i prosessen.
*But before I got as far as finding papers for the card I had decided to try a kind of fold based on the chocolate card tutorial that I've used so many times before. I also decided to use this new sentiment stamp from Kort og Godt. Everything else came much later in the process.*

*So the inside is similar to the chocolate cards I've made before, only with slightly different measures. And the gorgeous design paper from Making Memories really gets to play the lead here. I've only used a tiny edge of green Bazzill underneath to pick up the green theme without making green the dominating colour.*

*Because this is what it looks like when the gift certificate is placed in the pocket. It couldn't get any greener so it was nice to keep everything else fairly neutral. On the edge of the pocket I've used the MS Cherish punch and the text plate is die cut with Spellbinders Labels Ten.*

*As so often with my cards, I didn't have enough patterned paper to cover the back too so I had to find other creative solutions. I've punched out my personal Rox stamp with a cute little sentiment from Kort og Godt inside (...and they lived happily ever after). I think the sentiment fits perfectly for the back of a wedding card. The stamp is mounted on a scrap piece of the green Bazzill and I die cut Cheery Lynn Fanciful Flourish in the same colour Bazzill and divided it into separate parts before I adhered it under and around the stamp. Simple and decorative.*

*A little bonus was to discover that the card stood nicely on it's own even with loads of flowers from WOC and a few cute heartshaped pearls from Europris on the front that made it a bit "front heavy". All in all I was pretty pleased with the result concidering that my thoughts initially flew around totally different solutions and colours.*

DT Charisma - Sparkle and shine

*Charisma is back with a new challenge for you. We want to see all the sparkle and shine you can give us! My contribution is sparkling all over, but taking pictures where it shows properly is a challenge.*

*For the sixth round of Kort-O-Mania we were challenged to make "magic cards" and I thought it was so much fun that I made another one as soon as I finished my entry. I was still in confirmation mode and this is a commision I got for a card that was supposed to be a little funky and have room for a necklace or bracelet inside.*

*I've used a paper from My Minds Eye for this, Spellbinders dies for the circle behind the sentiment and sentiment from Kort og Godt.*

*lol*
*It's hard to see in the pictures, but the patterned paper has glitter on the dark pink flowers so I went nuts with Stickles Diamonds to bling up the expression for the rest too. The flowers from my stash, the chipboard scroll from Dusty Attic, the diecut and the MS Doily Lace edges have all got Stickles on them. The brad in the middle of the flower is sparkling already so I didn't give it any extra. *lol*

*On the inside I've done the same trick as the KOM-card, with die cut panels and made incitions to hang the necklace in.*

*The panel for the necklace is adhered with 3D pads so the necklace will fit behind it. Because of the wings the card will stand nicely on it's own both with the card front or folded in the back like in this photo.*

*The backside is almost as decorative as the rest and by now my personal stamp with a sentiment from Kort og Godt is pretty standard on my cards.*

*I've put Stickles Diamonds on this diecut too, but unfortunately it's really hard to catch on camera.*

*If you wanna have a go at this yourself you'll find the tutorial from Marianne here.*

DT Charisma - May flowers

Another Thursday, another Charisma challenge. And this fourtnight we want to see flowers.

I made this card earlier and it was apparently a big success among my customers, because this sold really fast followed by TWO commisions for similar cards. So I just had to go out hunting for the same papers to make it happen. Now I don't normally lift myself, at least not to this degree, but how can you say no to pleading customers? *lol*
Like I said, I had to hunt for the papers I used on the previous card. It's from Linda Design, previously known as Ladybug and Friends, but it's really hard to get. Finally I found it in the store where I bought the first ones, after rummaging through all the paper shelves three times, and I snagged the last six papers that were left.

I couldn't and wouldn't do the embellishments the same way as on the other card, but it's not far from it. A seambinding bow, blue and purple flowers from Wild Orchid Crafts and a few pearls. The sentiment is the quote from J. W. Goethe about magic, and it's a stamp from Stempelglede.

The biggest difference from the last card are the insides. On the top page I've used the same paper as on the other one, but at the bottom I used another paper from the same collection in 12x12, instead of the 6x6 papers.

I die cut a circle from Spellbinders Stately Circles set and stamped a sentiment from Kort og Godt.

The backside is the same paper as the inside and the same die cut, stamped with my personal Rox Stamp and a little sentiment from Kort og Godt.

Now, go find your May flowers and join the challenge over at the challenge blog. I'd love to see your creations! Meanwhile I'll be joining a few challenges myself:

DT Charisma #3 - Time to get peeling

I've had a little break from Charisma for a while now, but now I'm back in the game and ready for a challenge! And what a challenge it is this time! Do you have any peel off stickers tucked away in the bottom of a drawer somewhere? I thought I'd gotten rid of all mine, but fortunately for this weeks challenge, I found some and got them to good use.

I made a fairly simple card with scraps from my ever increasing pile, and a brand new image from one of our generous sponsors, Time for Tea Designs. This one's called Beanie Girl. I've colored it in with my ProMarkers as always. Colours are listed below.

I've mounted the peel off letters on a scrap piece of cardstock. The colour matches the patterned paper a lot better than it looks like in this image. It's really hard to get good pics of shiny silver letters! *S*
I've seen this way of putting on sentiments over the image several times, but I've never done it myself before and I'm not sure I like it. But gotta try everything, right??

And now you try to find those neglected peel off stickers and join in our challenge too! Don't forget to hop on over to the challenge blog to check out our fab sponsors and the other DT's great work!

DT Charisma - "The Greed"

I really hadn't intended on my blog to die these past few weeks, but I've been in and out of the ER and on bedrest most of the time in between. Seems that every time I think that things are getting better, something worse happens to throw me off. Who is that Murphy-guy and why did he have to go make that stupid law!? But there has been a few moments of good times in between and those moment has of course been spent in my craft room, I just can't show the projects just yet. *wink, wink*

Aaaaanywhooo, it's Thursday again which means another challenge at Charisma Cardz. And as always we have some great sponsors with us:

I have made a card whith an image from one of our sponsors, Dr. Digis House of Stamps, called BBQ Bill.

The image is as always colored in with my ProMarkers. I've used a strip of an old patterned paper from Basic Grey and a tiny strip of green Bazzill in between. Topped it off with som Baker's Twine, a button and a tiny tag. I was gonna stamp a greeting on the tag, but I had no idea what it would be, so I just left it blank. Maybe I'll put in something later. We'll se where it goes.

Now you hop on over to the challenge blog, check out the prizes and the other DT's fab creations and then you get crafty with your food related images and stuff and upload it for us to see. Right? Go on then, happy crafting! ☺

DT Charisma - BINGO!

I love bingo! Especially papercraft bingo. And that's what's happening over at Charisma today. You'll have to pop over there to see your board and while you're at it, check out the prizes from our fab sponsors.

Here's my bingo card for today.

(I have absolutely no idea what's going on with Blogger today, cuz the photo didn't look this blurry until I uploaded it! If anyone has any suggestions, please let me know!)

I've made a fall card with an image from our lovely sponsor Time for Tea Designs, called Fall Leaves. As usual colored in with my ProMarkers. And as usual there had to be some Maja Design paper on my project. This time it's the green background paper from the Ska vi ta en Fika collection. I've teamed it up with another paper from FabScraps, didn't notice the name of it though.

I followed a sketch from Sketchy Colors and kept the decorations simple. Just the brown satin ribbon from The Ribbon Retreat, a few leaves underneath a seambinding bow (from Wild Orchid Crafts) with twine from Waltzingmouse Stamps, a button and a charm from my stash. The pearl lines are from Vivi Gade.
Easy peasy and I have BINGO! *S*

Now it's your turn to shout bingo when you upload your project to the challenge blog. Me and my teamies will be over to check the results. ;-)

Challenges:

DT Charisma - Favorite color combo

Yup, it's that Thursday again. Time for another challenge at Charisma. Should be an easy one too, but first take a look at our sponsors:

and

And here's what I made:

It's no secret that I have a purple passion, and especially purple with green. Not too much green on this one. Can you believe it, I was almost out of all kinds of green papers to go with the purple one I'd chosen! *lol*
Anyways, the papers are from Kaisercrafts Lilac Avenue. The image is from our lovely sponsor The Stampfairy, as usual colored in with my ProMarkers.
The ribbon is from American Crafts and looks pink on this photo, but it's really more lilac. The sentiment is from Norsk Stempelblad.

Now, that's it from me today. Make sure you stop by the challenge blog and check out the other lovely ladies fav colors too.

Challenges:

The Pink Elephant #217 - Digital images or papers

DT Charisma - Fancy Flourishes

Another Thursday, another challenge over at Charisma Cardz Challenges. And as usual we have some great sponsors:

My mojo's gone missing again, so I really struggled with this challenge. I had a few ideas, but once I started it didn't work out so I scratched it all several times before I got to a finished result. And here's how it turned out.

I used a plain white cardstock base and a paper from Kaisercrafts After Five collection. The border is from the 6x6" paperpad. My fancy flourish is a Cheery Lynn die cut and the sentiment is from Verve Stamps, stamped in Memento Rich Cocoa. The rolled paper flowers are from Kort og Godt and I've misted them with Glimmer Mist Graphite.
And that's it, nice and easy (although it took me quite some time to finish it!). Now I just hope I'll get a mojo kick soon, or my procrastination list will be growing faaaar too long! If you got some mojo to spare, then send some this way, but be sure to make your own fancy flourish project first and link up in the challenge blog. Looking forward to seeing some fabulous works!

DT Charisma - More than one fold

Finally I’m back online! Got a bit of Internet issues here, but it’s all sorted out now, I hope!
The days have just vanished as I’ve been busy prepping the family for school and everyday life after a summer that seemed to last forever. And now it’s Thursday again. Not just any ol’ Thursday, it’s my oldest daughters first day of 5th grade in a new school, so it’s been really exciting both for her and me. Mostly me, I think. *S*
But that’s not the only exciting thing today. It’s time for a brand new challenge over at Charisma Cardz Challenges! Take a look at our sponsors this week.
 PRIZE ONE -

Here's a lil about Krista!
My name is Krista Smith. I am the artist behind the Etsy shop, Saturated Canary Digis. I began working in the stamping world about a year ago when I was hired to create rubber designs for the sweet Scottish company, Sugar Nellie. They launched my artwork under the name 'Simply Sassy.' I moved into the digital world just this past month (it's been a super busy month, indeed!). And-- I love it!! There is a little more freedom here, as I can create anything that pops into my head:)! I am so humbled by the artistic talent of the girls coloring in my designs-- it is truly an inspiration! Likewise, I am so thankful for the friendships I've made in this wonderful and lovely crafty community! It's been a true delight! I'd love for you to stop by my challenge/inspiration blog, Saturated Canary Challenge and join in the fun...And, while you're there, click over to my personal blog (Saturated Canary) and introduce yourself! I am a bit eclectic and touch on everything from family (I've got me a great one!) to fashion (obsessed!)...Please say 'hi!'...I'd love to be friends!:)

Krista has very kindly offered to sponsor this week one winner with a $10 Gift Certificate to her wonderful Etsy shop of some very beautiful Digi's!

PRIZE TWO -
The Stamping Chef was born in November 2012, after I (Tamara) decided to switch from the scrapbook community to the crafter side of designing. Drawing is my passion, and my style is fun, cute and doodlish..I think =D.  I love to see images come to life when they're colored by amazing crafters. Creating digital images can be a tedious process, but I love each and every step of it. I have a lovely bunch of ladies standing next to me, creating, giving me advice, and help me everywhere they can. I'm so totally new in this great adventure, but I love it! It's so totally different than I'm used to. I hope I can provide you with loads of cute, happy, funny images you can work with.
winner 3 digital images of their choice from The Stamping Chef store http://thestampingchef.oo.gd/

PRIZE THREE-
Delicious Doodles is a young company with myself,
Teri, as the Sole Trader/Designer.
I have doodled and sketched all of my life.
I started making greetings cards when my last child was born, and used my doodles on them as I couldn’t find what I wanted in the usual craft places.
I only started selling my images in the Autumn of 2009.
I design and hand/mouse-draw all of the images that are sold in the Delicious Doodles Shop. Some are cutsie animals, some are sketched flowers, there are a few men's images, fairies and also some 'darker' images featuring vampires, skulls and Gothic stuff, something for everyone!
Why not pop over and take a look.

Who are offering 4 digis of the winners choice!

Now for the challenge, and I have to say that I’m really looking forward to this, as we’re doing more than one fold this week. It’s been far too long since I’ve done anything but a regular card, so I set out to find something new and exciting for me.
Marianne has some awesome creations on her blog, so I really just had to take a pick and landed on this fabulous gatefold-with-a-twist kinda creation.

The large tag with the image on keeps the card closed. Unfortunately she didn’t have any tutorial or links to templates, so I had to think twice before I understood how it was done. But it really wasn’t that hard. It’s made out from a 12x12” cardstock, scored at 3” on all sides. Get it? Let me know if you would like to see a tutorial on this, and I’ll see what I can do. ;-)

I really liked the look on this folded card, and I loved it even more when I got to combine it with some of my favorites at the moment, Maja Design papers and Saturated Canary digi stamps. The gorgeous paper are from the “Ska vi ta en Fika”collection. I'm purple passionate and I just love the colours on these papers, totally yummy! The Fika-collection is by no means new, but for some reason I never got around to buying them. But now, with my Maja-madness and purple passion I just had to have them and they came just last week. (And I do believe I need another refill pretty soon! *S*)

And the sweet Canary is called “Thank You”. Thanks to Krista for supplying the DT with these cuties! As always colored in with my ProMarkers.  Unfortunately I forgot to write down the colours this time. I think I used pretty much every purple/violet colour I own. *S* I’ve also used an edge stamp on this one. I’m not sure where it’s from.
Other materials I’ve used are: Flowers from Wild Orchid Crafts and Kort og Godt, PaP-punches from Martha Stewart, ribbon and pearl from my stash, Distress Ink Walnut Stain and Fluid Chalk Creamy Brown.
Now, be sure to stop by the challenge blog for more inspiration and information and most importantly, link up your more-than- once-folded card. Can’t wait to see what you’ll do! *S*
