My Baby's All Grown Up!

Tommy had his very first day of school today.  Doesn't he look so sweet!  He has been looking forward to kindergarten for awhile now.  On meet the teacher night, we stayed the whole hour and a half because he just didn't want to leave.

This morning I walked him to his classroom and stole a shot of him in his desk before the teacher closed the door.  (Needy mom, I know.  But isn't it cute?)  He was really excited to be at school, and as much as I was anticipating this day, I found that I got a little choked up.  It's weird not having him at home all day.

Hannah really missed him too.  She cried all the way home, and when we got home she kept crying and calling his name until I put a show on to distract her.  In the middle of the show there was a knock at the door and she shouted out, "Tommy home?"  When Tommy finally was home, she loved having her playmate back.  They laughed and ran around together most of the afternoon.

When we got home from picking Tommy up, there were cookies waiting for him.  He got to eat the cookies and tell me all about his first day of school.  I learned about Eddie Bear and the Gingerbread Man.  It sounded like he had so much fun, I couldn't help being so happy for him!

I'm so glad he loved it! I was thinking about you yesterday, wondering how the first day was going. Hope the happiness keeps up. :-) Lauree

The first day of school is so exciting! How fun for him! And I can't believe you have a kindergartener! Crazy how we are all grown up!

I agree about your darling little Hannah - she and Whitney look alike! They must be related or something...

I'm jealous. Owen misses the cut off date for Kindergarten by 11 days! I am a little nervous about having 4 kids home all day long. I am going to have to be quite creative. I love that you made him an after school snack. Those were always the best days growing up when my mom had something ready for us when we got home. And love the red plate!

Wow, yea, Tommy! And just like in birth, Tanner is about a week following. He starts school next Wednesday and we're excited too! I don't know if Talmage will miss Tanner as much as Hannah missed Tommy. That was so cute. Garrett was sad when Maya first went to school too.

I think it will be good for you 2 to have him at school during the day. He sounds like he needs that time to socialize with kids his own age. It's hard to believe he's that old already! Maybe you need to have another baby to keep Hannah company while Tommy's gone! Ha ha!

Wow Melinda, I can't believe Tommy's in school. I remember when we had his baby shower in Provo at my in-laws. Your kids are adorable.

Wow! Is he old enough already? Even I get choked up thinking of him walking into the classroom. Myra is going to need security to remove me from the premises! :) Hannah will miss Tommy, but how cool to get some one on one time with mom? Just the girls!! COOL!!!
