Beatles themed Bow Fronted Christmas Card

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

How was your weekend? I hope you are ready for the week ahead. I was ill on Friday which also made Saturday a bit tricky but I am much better now. We did visit my parents on Sunday. We met their live in carer for the first time. She is very nice and she is doing a very good job. My parents seem quite content too which is wonderful. For the time being I feel that it is the right place for them to be. I am going to try to apply for Attendance Allowance for them. Has anyone any experience with this?

There has been  internet issues today so I am a bit later posting than I expected. I also changed my mind about which card to post. I went for the Christmas card that I made for my hubby last year.

I cut a square 8" x 8" piece of black card. I also cut a strip on back card that was longer than 8".

I decorated the back of the card first. I was using Beatles images from Vera Lane Studio. They come in two sets and there are quotes with both sets. I like to use a brick wall image and add the quotes in white.

I coloured the Beatles with Promarkers. The panel at the front was decorated. It has tabs that were stuck under the mat and layers for the back panel. On the back is more brick graffiti and a Christmas Tree from the Oh Holy Night set from Beccy's Place. The bowed front helps the card stand up nicely.

I knew these images from Vera Lane Studio would be very useful. I added the hats myself. Expect to see them quite a lot. I have Beatles mad friends and a Beatles mad husband.

Take care.

Beatles Themed Christmas Bridge Card

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

How is your week going? It isn't long until the big day now. I was thrilled to find that I had made enough Christmas cards this year. All of them are in the post now.  This has meant that I have had some time for  other crafting. There is still plenty to do like visiting friends and getting the house sorted.

I am sharing the Christmas card that I made for our good friends that we go to see all Beatles Tribute bands with. We have one more trip planned to Brighton to see the Bootleg Beatles in there final show of their current tour. We are already booked to see the Bootlegs again next year.

This is similar to the design that I made for our friend's birthday. This is a bridge card. To me it looks a bit like a stage. I made the background with one of my photos of a brick wall. I added the phrases in white. The tree is a Beccy's Place image called Oh Night Divine. The message is written on the back of the card.

The digi stamps I used are from Vera Lane Studio. They came in two sets with phrases. There is John and Paul - the Beatles and George and Ringo - the Beatles. I found a file of a Christmas hat on the internet and I added hats to the Beatles to make them festive. The figures were coloured with Promarkers the hats came pre-coloured.

Here you can see the way the design works.

I know my friend loves this card. This was such a good set of images for me to buy.

Enjoy the rest of the week. I hope all your Christmas prep goes well.

Beatles Concertina Birthday Card

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

I hope you have had a great weekend and are ready for the week ahead. We had an amazing time in London with our friends. We were there to see a Bootleg Beatles concert at the Royal Albert Hall with the Liverpool Philharmonic orchestra. The concert was just amazing and suited the venue beautifully. While in London we managed to fit in: a Beatles themed walking tour, a London by night bus ride and  a trip to see The Play that Goes Wrong. There were lots of meals and coffee too,  as well as the odd gin and tonic.

We met up with my cousin and her partner at the Royal Albert Hall she was there at the concert for her birthday. A group of 8 of us shared a meal at the Verdi Italian Restaurant which is in the Royal Albert Hall. Well I had to make my cousin a card and it needed  to be small and compact.

I decided to make a concertina card. Of course I had to use the Vera Lane Studios Beatles images again. The backing paper is a picture of a wall here at home and the words that come with the images were added over the top and changed to be white to look like graffiti.

This is the outside of the card. It just needed to say Happy Birthday.

Then the card opens like this. The finished card is small when folded ad fits nicely in a hand bag.

George.

John

Paul

Ringo

I was pleased with this card. My cousin liked it a lot and it did fit in her handbag. It was such a good evening I want to do it all again.

Have a great week.

Not Just Cards August Challenge - Anything Goes

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

I hope you are having a great weekend. Today we are hosting the first of two tea parties for my husband's birthday. This one will be in Aldershot at his parents house. We are leaving early to sort the house out and to be there to receive the food order. The trick will be not to let my mother-in-law do anything after her recent spell in hospital. I will let you know how it all goes.

Being the 11th of the month the new challenge starts at the Not Just Cards Challenge blog our theme is Anything Goes.

As soon as I saw these images by Vera Lane Studio I just had to have them. Lots of you will know that we and our friends are big Beatles fans. This images will be so useful for making cards for our friends. I decided to make a Bridge Card to make it look a bit like a stage. For the backing paper I used an image of a brick wall, I made the quotes, that came with the images, white and placed them over the bricks.

Just click on the logo and you will be taken to our current challenge.

The images come in two sets of two. I coloured them with Promarkers and fussy cut them.

Here are the last two. I can see myself using these images a lot. I already have an idea for a Christmas card.

My Beatles mad friend loved this card and it has gone into her Beatles collection.
