Robins at Christmas

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

How is your week going? We went to the cinema yesterday. It was very odd going again. We have both really missed going to the cinema. Tomorrow we are off to look after our daughter and son-in-law's dog so they can go out for an anniversary meal together. I can't believe it is four years since they got married.

I am so behind on my own Christmas cards I needed a bit of time to catch up. I just couldn't bear to watch the football on Sunday so I did spend a bit of time crafting.

In the background is some snowy patterned paper. The main die set I used was Christmas Time from the John Next Door range. The sentiment was cut with a die from the Happy Snowflakes die set from John Next Door.

The holly wreath was made with dies from the Christmas Time die set. The robins were cut from an old Christmas card. I do keep all the cards with robins on because I like them so much.

I still have a lot of Christmas cards to make. But a least here is one more. I ought to get back to crafting.

Snippets Christmas card with recycled Robins

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

How is your week going? I have had a very busy two weeks but the invigilating has finished for the time being. I still don't have a lot of time to craft. I hope things will calm down soon.

I have so loved making the Christmas cards with the Snippets backgrounds. I was given lots of Christmas cards to recycle at the weekend. When I sorted them out I found a cute robin image that I wanted to use.

I made the background by cutting strips of patterned paper and gluing them to a piece of card the right size for the mat. I kept the colours a bit more muted to suit the image.

I used the Sophia die set from Creative Expressions to cut the white lacy doily and one of their Double Pierced circle dies to cut out the image from the old card. I inked the edges of the circle and added a small bow.

I just love making these cards. If I have a bit of time at the end of a craft session I am trying to make another Christmas card. I am determined that I am going to have enough Christmas cards this year.  So far  I have made 32 Christmas cards.

Hunkydory Christmas cards

Hi My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

How was your weekend? We had a fabulous time at Destination Star Trek at the NEC in Birmingham. If you love Star Trek you will understand.

As you might know I have been struggling to get my Christmas made this year. I bought a copy of Cardmaking and Papercraft that had a free Hunkdory Christmas papercraft  kit. I loved using this kit. I made quite a few cards.

This one was my favourite I used the snow globe and one of the backing papers.

There was a set of robin cards. I love seeing robins on Christmas cards.

Here is a selection of cards with snowy scenes.

The I made cards with deer on.

I made all of these cards in one session. There are some bits of the kits left so there will be at least another couple of cards to come. A lot of these cards will go to the Brownie Coffee Morning my friend is organising.

Have a great week. I know a lot of people are on half term this week.

Father's Day Card Number Three

Hi My Crafty Blog Friends

The weekend is here. I wonder what you will be doing. We are going back to the shop where I got my outfit for the wedding as the dress needs a tiny repair. The shop is in the New Forest so we are planning to have a nice lunch in one of the lovely pubs over there. Then it will be back to the house for more wedding makes.

I have made the last Father's Day card that I need for this year. This one will be for my dad. He always likes birds coming to visit in the garden especially the cheeky robins.

I decided to use another Pollyanna Pickering image from the pack I bought recently. I used the textured brick card from my stash and inked it with Distress Ink. I surrounded the image with die cuts to match the foliage in the painting. I used the following dies designed by Sue Wilson for Creative Expressions: Ivy Leaves, Laurel Leaves and the twigs from the Festive Bough set.

I think this image would also make a rather nice new home card.

This die is from the Signature Collection by Joanna Sheen I have used it a lot.

I hope you enjoy your weekend.

Eight Cute Christmas Cards

Hi My Crafty  Blog Friends

I hope you are enjoying the weekend. This is the last day of my holiday it is back to work tomorrow but only in the mornings. Unfortunately my husband has to work today but he has promised to take me out for a meal when he gets back. So no cooking and lots of crafting that isn't a bad way to end the holiday.

Talking of my husband he set me a challenge. When we were getting ready to send out the Save the Date fridge magnets for our daughter's wedding we had a sort through my envelopes and we found a lot of C6 ones. They weren't quite right for the Save the Dates but he challenged me to use them for Christmas cards. This is the first eight I have made that fit that size of envelope. They are also nice and flat for posting.

I started by cutting down some card blanks so that they would fit the envelopes. I found the red spotty card in my stash and the sentiment too.

I found this cute little stamp in our local charity shop for just 50p. It was all dirty and I wasn't sure if it would stamp okay but after a good clean it was fine. I used black archival on water colour card so that I could use my Spectrum Noir Sparkle pens to colour the image. I used them to colour the background as well.

Just to prove that I did make eight.

I hope that you have a great week. I am back to work tomorrow. There are some things that need sorting out with my job so I am not sure how it is all going to work out - watch this space.

Happy Christmas Robins

Hi My Crafty Blog Friends

I hope you have had a good weekend. The weather here has been very nice until Saturday evening when it started raining. My husband had last week off work and we did get to do some nice things. The last treat was going to Bournemouth with our daughter to see Michael McIntyre in his new show Happy and Glorious. It was very funny and I will be buying the DVD when it comes out.

I have been making Christmas cards again. This time I used a sheet from Kanban. I just love robins on Christmas cards.

I made two cards with the main images on the sheet. The paper came from my stash it is all covered with robins.

Both of these cards are 8" x 8". I used some Sizzix dies to frame the images.

The sentiments were on the sheet too with matching robins.

There was a smaller image on the sheet and I made this  5" x 5" card out of the snippets from the other cards.

Here is the toy department at Selfridges and you can see the dinosaur which cost £4500. Someone asked if we were tempted to buy it and which we weren't but it was nice to look at.

That is another three cards for the Christmas stash. I do need lots more so there will be many more Christmas makes on the way.

I hope you have a great week. I have just one week of the school holiday left. I had better make the most of it.

Happy crafting.

Christmas Robins times two.

Hi My Crafty Blog Friends

I hope you are having a great weekend. We are very excited in a few hours time we will be heading off to get on our cruise ship. I think we start with two sea days. You never know I might even take an Art class I will have to see what is on offer. I think some chilling time will be worthwhile.

The other day I was very lucky I saw a post on Facebook saying the first five people to respond would be sent some Christmas goodies by Docrafts to feature on their blog. Well I was second and I got my goodies on Friday so I set to and made two Christmas cards.

These are the cards I made with one page of toppers. I love robins on Christmas cards.

This is what I was sent there is lots of lovely bits to play with. I have my Christmas cards sorted out now.

This is the sheet I decided to use I couldn't resist the cute robins.

I used Sue Wilson snowflake die for the corners,

This shows the detail of the decoupage. I use gel glue to make up decoupage if there is time for it to dry properly, which there was, I find I can get a better shape this way.

Isn't this a gorgeous corner Snowflake die?

Both cards are 6" x 6". I tend to make smaller Christmas cards it is more economical with the card stock. This size suited the images well.

The robins are very cute.

Click on the logo to visit the Docrafts website. There is lots of inspiration there.

Have a great week. I won't be around for a bit but I will catch up with everyone when I get back.

Happy Crafting
