Highlighting Fake Eggs
Video One
Video Two
There are some pics of the cracked eggs which looked exactly like the real thing except for the yolk sac that is hard to break. The above videos showed a hard boiled fake egg and it looked like real except that the yolk is rubbery when pressed together and bounces like a ping pong ball :p

Glad to be back...
Thank you for all your comforting messages during this trying time. I really appreciate that. Things are more or less settled now but the grief and pain that hit during our lonely periods are the hardest to overcome. I guess time will heal... and it will be a long one.
Just an announcement before I restart my blogging proper... there will be a new, well not exactly new, blogger contributing for Babe in the City - KL. It will be non other than my makan partner who has been all these while contributing to this blog by being the growing-together-side-way-partner, paymaster and taste bunny... my hubby la hahaha. There is something installed for us soon and I will reveal that when time comes.
Welcome on board darling ;-) and thanks for everything.

The Miele Guide: Vote for Your Fave Restaurants
Am sure by now, most of you are aware of this guide which will be published in October especially if you're an ardent fan of Masak-Masak. In case you're not aware, our makan queen Boo_licious, have a role in this guide which she had highlighted in her blog. In the meantime, the voting period is still on until 31 July 2008. You might even surprise yourself by winning opportunities to wine and dine in Asia's best restaurants or stay in the region's most luxurious hotels! So hurry over to The Miele Guide and cast your votes!!!
What exactly is The Miele Guide?
The Miele Guide is an exciting, new and truly unique Asian restaurant guide. The Guide is set to become the newest and most respected standard by which restaurants in Asia are judged. Written by food lovers who know and love Asia, The Miele Guide will rank and profile restaurants across the region’s major cities in a slim, indispensable volume.
Unlike most guides, there will be no arbitrary, secretive selection procedures. Instead, an initial list of restaurants has been shortlisted by 84 of Asia’s most respected food journalists. The restaurants that make it to the guide are decided by people like you and me via online voting. From 15 May to 31 July 2008, we have invited the public to cast their votes via our website www.mieleguide.com. Voters can vote for restaurants that are already shortlisted or can nominate restaurants not yet on the list. In July, a Special Jury of foodies and F&B professionals will also cast their votes. The results from these two polls will then be tallied and confirmed by our in-house team in August.
The Miele Guide 2008/09 edition will be released and distributed internationally at the end of October 2008.
Sloppiest Bugger Won in 2008 NYC Food Film Festival
I wish to congratulate the team at Friedchillies for their win. May you guys be blessed with more recognition and success.
Press Release:
FRIEDCHILLIES WINS AT THE NEW YORK CITY FOOD FILM FESTIVAL
New York, 20 June 2008 - FriedChillies Media won the Best Super Short Film at the NYC Food Film Festival on Friday night. The super short film titled 'The Sloppiest Burger in Malaysia' garnered top prize in the super short film category. Organisers of the festival dubbed it, 'Malaysia gonzo food reportage to the max. Watch out Bourdain'. "We can't believe we won and that people half the world away watched and loved our little film," said Mohd Adly Rizal, founder of FriedChillies Media and director of Sloppy. Audiences can watch the award-winning film on www.friedchillies.com.
The NYC Food Film Festival which is in its second year celebrates the best in food film-making. It was held at the Water Taxi Beach in Queens from the 14th to the 20th of June. FriedChillies Media sent 3 films of which the Sloppiest Burger in Malaysia was chosen for screening. On the second night of screening over 750 New Yorkers watched one of Malaysia's beloved street burgers take shape on-screen.
"We filmed the footage gonzo-style because that's what our street food is all about," added Adly. "Even though it was one of our first shorts for Friedchillies.tv, I believe we won because the content has world-wide appeal." Another of the films titled 'Ipoh Invasion' was also considered for screening. However because of the limited run of the festival this year it might be slotted for next year's festival.
FriedChillies Media through its site www.friedchillies.com has been promoting Malaysian cuisine be it street-fare or fine-dining to the world since 1997. They use a cross media platform to capture the hearts and tummies of food fans all over the world. In March 2007, FriedChillies launched Malaysia and Asia's first Internet Food Channel (www.friedchillies.tv) to further promote Malaysian cuisine to the world.
The NYC Food Film Festival is a multi-sensory experience where filmgoers are able to watch food films then sample the food portrayed in those films. For more information go to www.nycfoodfilmfestival.com.

Last Evening We Chanced Upon...
As we were passing Fraser & Neave Business Park at Sungai Besi yesterday's evening, I saw Angus at the parking bay. Kekeke hubby turned into the area and looked for Angus. Oh my he still looked as handsome as before! Glad to know that Angus' new owner took care of him so well. We felt good for him and so happy to see him there, everything intact without any changes on him, well except for the number plate which we were aware of.
Gosh I just checked my farewell post, in 2 days time, we would have parted from Angus for exactly 2 years!!! What a coincidence...

Gender Survey
Hi all, I've just closed the poll. Results will come out in the next post. Thank you all for participating.
UPDATED 4 Sept 2007
Dear Ladies and Gentlemen,
I need to push up this post as I seriously think my readers must have been away for the long holidays and have not seen this request of mine. So far only 85 votes have been casted which I think it's way too low looking at my number of visitors per day or week for that matter. Hence, I'll have this poll run for another week.
So if you could, kindly just perform a simple 2-clicks action at poll over at your left side under Main Menu. Your help is deeply appreciated.
Thank you once again.

Safety Reminder
Well this is not something new but it usually happens in hawker places... so far the hawkers opposite Neroteca and at Madras Lane have warned me of such occurrences. Do not leave your mobile phones and wallets on the table while you're eating and now you can't seems to put them on your lap too! I guess the best would be stuffing everything into your pockets!
Well usually I twirl the strap round my arm whenever I placed my bag on my lap, can't imagine what will happen to my arm should the nasty snatch thieves decided to pull some stunts on me.
So be mindful ok.

Condolences to the Tees
There will be no postings until... I'm not sure when... I guess when I have the inspiration again.
I'm very disturbed with the way things are being done in this country and I feel sorry for the Tees to have lost a wonderful husband and father; and for myself, a very great, helpful, wise and kind friend; all because how some arseholes took things for granted. I'm not going to speculate anything until a thorough investigation have been done by the Police and sincerely hope there will be witnesses stepping up to offer any information that they could share.
Police urged those with information on the incident to contact Chief Inspector P. Nallusamy at 03-55102222 or the nearest police station. So if you've witness anything on that day, please do contact the police. Thank you.
Unker Tee, we wish you a great life in Heaven. Your laughters will echoes through the corridor of our memory.
Lavendar, in your silence and grief, we are here with you always. Let us know how we can help.
