Birthday Blessings

Hello friends.  I have a card to share that I made with SU Painted Harvest (retired).  My card was inspired by this card by my friend Bonnie. I told her I would share it.  Thanks so much Bonnie for the inspiration.

and here is my card.

I used the same colors (Pumpkin Pie, Peach Parfait, Crushed Curry, Old Olive) and layout but made a full panel for the front of the card, and used a birthday sentiment from Verve.  I die cut the sentiment with a stitched oval die and mounted it with foam tape.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  Have a wonderful day.

Seize the Birthday - Beverages

Hello friends and happy Thursday.  It is time for a new challenge at Seize the Birthday and Jules has chosen beverages as the "Toppings" option this time, but if you are not into the "Toppings" option, the only requirement is that it has to be for a birthday.

For my card I used an older Verve set for the pretty cups and the sentiments.  I colored the cups with SU Flirty Flamingo and Crumb Cake blends, and then fussy cut them.  I die cut MFT Stitched Triple Peek-a-boo Window die from lt. pink cardstock and then embossed it with SU Subtle EF.  I glued this to the card base and then added the cups with foam tape in the windows.  I thought the 3 cups were perfect with the sentiment "Sip, Relax, Repeat".  The sentiments were stamped on the card base with no boo-boos (yea).

Be sure to check our all the designs by our party guest and the team over at Seize the Birthday.  I hope to see you in our gallery.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  Have a wonderful day.

Seize the Birthday - Sentiment as Focal Image

Happy Thursday and welcome to another Seize the Birthday challenge.  This time Colleen would like us to make the sentiment the focal image of our card.
I used MFT Birthday Wishes die to make the sentiment the focal image and die cut it out of Terracotta Tile and heavy white CS to layer it for more dimension.  I stamped the small cake image from an older Verve set in the corner and colored the flower with my aqua brush and Terracotta Tile ink.  I added a light gray to the cake icing for shading and wasn't pleased so went over the whole cake with a pale yellow.  It looks like the Memento Tuxedo Black ink might have smeared but I think it is just the lt. gray marker.  It looks better in person.  The white panel is matted with Terracotta Tile CS.   I added 3 rhinestones colored with a marker to match the Terracotta Tile.

Don't forget to check out all the designer's cards  and our party guest Joyce at Seize the Birthday for more inspiration.  Hope you see you in our gallery.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  Have a wonderful day.

Another Anniversary Card

Hello friends.  I am sharing another anniversary card I made for a couple at church (there are 4 this month).  I was inspired by this card on Pinterest made by Mariza.
I love the card and I love the Verve set so I had to CASE it with a few minor changes.
I used Blueberry Bushel DSP from last year's SU 2018-2020 In-Color pack.  The heart image was stamped with Blueberry Bushel ink and die-cut with the matching die.  I mounted it with foam tape.  The sentiment is from the same Verve set, Love Everlasting.  The Verve heart border is cut from Brushed Silver CS.  I added a row of rhinestones to the bottom border and tied silver cording around the top border, which is only partially cut with the impression of the hearts.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  I hope you have a wonderful day.

Welcome to the World Little One

I went to a baby shower today and this is the card I made for the expectant mother.  They did not want to find out the sex of the baby so I went with pale yellow and green for my card.
The pattern paper is from an MFT 6x6 pad.  The sentiment and the baby rattles are from a Verve stamp set.  The heart border die is also from Verve, and I used the tiny hearts from the cut out to add to the pattern paper sections.  I die cut the Spellbinders label die and inked around the edges with pale green ink before removing it from the die.  I then stamped the sentiment in the center.  I colored the rattles to match the paper and then mounted them to the sentiment panel, which is mounted  to the card with foam tape.   Lastly, I added a cute mint green twine bow.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  I hope  you have a wonderful day.

The Flower Challenge #23 "One Layer Card"

Hello friends.  I am sharing a card I made for a friend at church using The Flower Challenge #23 "One Layer Card challenge.

For my card I stamped the flowers from SU Blended Seasons on Bristol Smooth card in Memento Tuxedo Black ink and then colored it with my Copics. I also stamped a mask and fussy cut it so I could ink around the flowers.  My original intention was just to ink around the flowers but then I just inked the whole front of the card with Broken China Distress Oxide Ink, gave it a quick dry with my heat gun, and then sprinkled some water on it.  I like that look.  I then stamped the sentiment from Verve Poppy Birthday in Tuxedo Black ink to finish my card.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  I appreciate it when you take the time to leave me a comment.
I hope you have a wonderful day.

Another Anniversary Card

I am sharing another anniversary card for a couple at church.  I was inspired by this card I saw on Pinterest (thanks Lin).  I thought it was so pretty and perfect for an anniversary.
SSS June6

The heart and flowers are from Impession Obsession Floral Heart Set and matching dies.  I colored the flowers with Promarkers and used the die to cut them, then mounted them with foam tape to the die cut heart.  The yellow paper is from a Recollections 6x6 pad.  I used a Spellbinders die to cut the curved scallop edge.  The sentiment is from Verve Love Story.  I embossed the bottom of the white panel with an older impression plate and then added a few yellow sequins from my stash.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  Have a wonderful day.

Sending Thoughts and Prayers

I will be sending this card to a sick friend and I made it using this week's Just Us Girls challenge - Alcohol Inks.
Well this is my first time playing with alcohol inks and I like it.  I will have to play some more.  I only had 3 colors and I watched several videos on YouTube before I attempted it.  I used Ranger Glossy Alcohol Ink paper and felt blending pads to add the 3 colors and then on a section of the sheet I dropped the colors in on top of the blended inks and blew with a straw.  That is the section I cut the leaf border from.  I die cut the flowers and leaves from the plain sections (you know I had to use a flower :)).  The flowers are made with SU Botanical Builders dies and I added a pearl to the center.  The sentiment is from Verve Inspire Hope stamped on a Spellbinder Circle die cut and matted with the Small Scallop Circle in black.  I mounted this panel with foam tape.

Since I used a flower, I will enter this one at The Flower Challenge #21 - Use a Previous Challenge.   I chose Challenge 18 again - Anything Goes.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  I appreciate you taking the time to leave a comment.
Have a wonderful day.

Happy Anniversary

We have several June anniversaries and birthdays at church so I am busy trying to get some cards done.  Here is an anniversary card for a sweet young couple at church.

I used my new Botanical Builder Framelits from SU and Recollections Pink CS and SU Old Olive CS for the flowers and leaves.  I added the white stamens to the flowers and pearls to the centers.  The sentiment is from Verve's Love Story set and cut with a die from MFT Pierced Fishtail Flags.  The embossed panel is made with Cuttlebug Modern Wallpaper EF.  I matted it with SU Crumb Cake and the card base is Coredinations Heavy White Card.

Thanks for stopping by and taking a look.  Have a wonderful day.

Happy Birthday for Seize the Birthday

Hello friends.  It is Thursday and time for a new challenge at Seize the Birthday..  There is no option this week, so it is "Anything Goes" for a birthday.

I used the Viva la Verve  April sketch one.
I had to use my favorite Verve flower from the retired set "One Person".  I stamped in on SU Baha Breeze CS, fussy cut it out and layered the large bloom.  I sponged the edges after cutting them out and added a black enamel dot to the centers.  The sentiment is Verve's Happy Birthday Plain Jane.  I love the fonts in this sentiment.  I cut it with MFT Pinking Edge Squares die and matted it with black.   I added the black/white Bakers Twine. The DSP is SU Baha Breeze.

Now check out all the fabulous creations by my teammates over at Seize the Birthday.  I look forward to seeing all your fabulous entries in the gallery.

Happy Birthday

I made my card for a sweet lady at church using JUGS Challenge #339 - use lavender, peach and ivory.
I had to do some thinking on these colors and tried several things before decided on this finished card.  I CASEd myself with a card I made here.   I used SU Very Vanilla CS for the card base and the 2 main panels.  The first panel is embossed with SU Filigree Frame EF.  The next panel is cut with Creative Expressions Californian Collection-Beverly Hills die by Sue Wilson.  I stamped Verve's Happy Birthday Plain Jane in black ink.  The flowers from SU Petite Petals are stamped in Crisp Cantaloupe (I tried Peach Parfait, but it looked yellow) and Wisteria Wonder inks.  I punched them out with the matching punch and sponged the edges of the petals and added ivory pearls to the centers.  The leaves from SU Peaceful Petals is stamped in Crumb Cake ink on Sahara Sand CS.  After fussy cutting them out, I sponged them with Crumb Cake ink.  Both vanilla panels are mounted with foam tape for dimension.

Since this is a girlie card, I also am entering in this week's Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge.

Happy Holidays

Good Morning friends and Happy New Year to you all.  We have a color challenge for you over at Christmas Card Challenges.

I used Mojo Monday sketch #428 for my card.

The DSP is Echo Park Reflections Christmas.  The tan snowflake is the reverse side of the stripes. The mats are SU Riding Hood Red and the card base is SU Crumb Cake.  I stamped the candle image and sentiment from Verve's Light My World.  I used my water brush pen and Riding Hood Red ink to color the poinsettias and Promarkers on the flames and edges of the candles.  I cut the flag with an MFT die from Blueprints 24 and then angled the top corners. The circles are cut with MFT Circle Stax 1 and 2.  I did some paper piercing around the edges and sponged them lightly with SU Crumb Cake ink.  I mounted the tag and circle with foam tape.  The gold ribbon is from my stash.

Hop over to Christmas Card Challenges and see what fabulous creations the team has to share with you.

Birthday Blessings for Just Us Girls #316

I made this card for a young woman at church using the JUGS #316 photo challenge.  I used SU Chocolate Chip and Coredinations Heavy White CS.  I cut a Sizzix Tim Holtz #660220 corner hexagon die from the white and put a piece of DSP (that was on my table, not sure which pad it is from) behind the cutouts.  I tried to match the flowers with a stamp from Verve's On Occasion.  I stamped each flower twice on SU Pink Piroutte and fussy cut them out, cutting the middle layer out separate for dimension.  The sentiment from the same set is stamped in Chocolate Chip ink.  I also stamped them on SU So Saffron and fussy cut the centers.  I cut MFT's Leaf Filled Flourish from Chocolate Chip and then cut sections from it and rearranged it to make it fit.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  Have a wonderful day.

Seize the Birthday - Pocket Card

Hello friends.  We have a new challenge for you over at Seize the Birthday and this time we have the "Toppings" option to make a pocket card.

For my card I used the Diagonal Double Pocket card tutorial at Splitcoast Stampers.  I used cardstock and DSP from Pebbles Yours Truly 6x6 pad.  The image panel is cut with Spellbinders Floral Ovals and stamped with an image from SU Butterfly Basics.  I colored the image with Promarkers and then sponged lt. blue ink around the image.  It is mounted with foam tape.  I cut the two tags with MFT Pierced Tags die and stamped them with Verve's Birthday to You and May Your Birthday Be Filled by Stampabilities.   I then added some retired SU ribbon that matched the pink check paper.
You can see the tags in this photo.

Seize the Birthday - Use Border Punches or Dies

Happy Thursday friends.  It is time for a new challenge at Seize the Birthday and this week we have the "Toppings" option to use border punches or dies on your birthday card.

I used the sketch from the September Viva la Verve Week 2 challenge.

I used Coredinations Heavy White CS and SU Coastal Cabana CS.  The DSP is from a Recollections 6x6 paper pad.  I used a Martha Stewart border punch on the edges.  The sentiment is from Verve's Birthday to You and the butterfly is from Verve's Sparkly Dreams, cut with the matching Butterfly Dreams die.  I stamped it with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored it using my water brush pen and SU Coastal Cabana and Regal Rose inks.  I did some faux pen stitching around the sentiment and mounted it and the butterfly with foam tape.  The pink CS is punched with a SU 1-3/4" circle punch.  I think it brings out the pink in the plaid DSP and the butterfly.  The white panel is embossed with Cuttlebug Maltese EF.

Now you need to check out all the fabulous creations by my teammates over at Seize the Birthday.  I hope you will play along with us.

Christmas Card Challenges #35

Good morning friends.  It is time for a new challenge at Christmas Card Challenges.  This week we have a color challenge for you.

I used Coredinations Heavy White CS, SU Basic Black, Pink Piroutte CS and Pistachio Pudding DSP.  I stamped the image from Verve's Light My World in Memento Tuxedo Black.  I did some coloring with Promarkers.  I drew a line and added a little grey shadow under the candle image.  I cut it out with Spellbinders Classic Ovals.  The background looked plain so I fussy cut the image out and added it to an oval embossed with the Tim Holtz brick EF.  Before I glued it down, I stamped the flowers again, colored them green, fussy cut them out and added some leaves to the poinsettias.  I like the way it turned out.  The pink mat is cut with Spellbinders Floral Ovals die.  The sentiment is from the same set.  Both panels are mounted with foam tape.

You should check out all the fabulous cards by my teammates over at Christmas Card Challenges and I hope you will play along with us this week.

Just Us Girls #300 challenge - Congratulations

Just Us Girls is celebrating their 300th challenge and this week it is a word theme and the word is "Congratulations".

For my card I used the 3 adorable animals from Verve's To The Moon.  I stamped them in Memento Tuxedo Black ink, colored them with Promarkers, and fussy cut them out.  The sentiment is from MFT's Grand Greetings and was perfect for this occasion.  I stamped it in Memento ink and rounded the corners with an EK Success punch.  The DSP is from an older retired SU pack.  The card base and mats are from MFT Sno Cone CS.  The white panel is embossed with Sizzix Stars & Swirls EF.  The sentiment and animals are mounted with foam tape.

I am also entering this in Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge - "Going Dotty" as there are dots in the swirls of the EF and also the spots on the giraffe, sorta.
