Seize the Birthday - CAS + Dies

Hello friends.  It is time for a new challenge at Seize the Birthday and Glenda would like us to make it CAS (clean and simple) plus dies.  If you're not a "Toppings" kind of person, well...you can just go with our usual "Anything Goes" Birthday!  The choice is yours!

For my card I began with a panel of SU Basic Beige and embossed it with Honey Bee Burlap EF. I had these flowers cut from white with Altenew Cute Open Rose die so I thought I would use them.  I blended some SU Crisp Cantaloupe ink (ret.) to the centers  and shaped the petals before gluing them together.  The centers are cut from Spellbinders Merlot and Sicily cardstock.  I blended Rustic Wilderness DOI on scraps of white to die cut the leaves and glued them under the flower petals.  The sentiment is cut from white using an older Sizzix die and glued on.  I really love the finished card and will be sending it to my granddaughter as her birthday is next month.

Be sure to check out all the cards by the DT and our party guests over at Seize the Birthday.  I hope to see you in our gallery.

I will also link to the Trible B Challenge - Birds, Blooms, Butterflies.

and also to Darnell's NBUS as this is the first time I have used the Honey Bee EF.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  Have a wonderful day.

Seize the Birthday - Rainbow of Colors

Hello friends.  It is time for a new challenge at Seize the Birthday and Cathy wants us to use a Rainbow of Colors. Of course you can always just make a regular birthday card if you are not into our "Topping" option.

Here is the card I came up with.
I cut a white panel and then blended these inks in rainbow fashion: Real Red, Pumpkin Pie, Daffodil Delight, Call Me Clover, Pacific Point, Highland Heather and another row of Real Red.  I cut the panel down to to fit behind the Sizzix Tartan Plaid die cut, and then glued it to the white card base.  I used Birch Press Splendid Cosmos Contour Layers die for the flower cut from Pale Papaya and sponged Pumpkin Pie ink in the centers before gluing the layers together.  The center is cut from Crumb Cake and Early Espresso. The leaves are cut from Pear Pizzazz with a little Call Me Clover ink sponged on one side.  I glued the flower on and then glued the leaves under the petals.  I didn't think about it, but the flower covers the Highland Heather row.  The sentiment is from Waffle Flower Essential Sentiments and cut with the matching die, and  I added 2 plain layers under the stamped layer for some dimension.

Be sure to check out all the fabulous cards by the Team and our Party Guest over at Seizer the Birthday.  I hope to see you in our gallery.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  Have a wonderful day.

Green & White Birthday for 3 (or 4) Challenges

Hello friends.  I have a new birthday card to share today.

I used my new Pinkfresh Studios Dashing Daisies Press Plate with white ink on the Granny Apple Green panel and think it turned out so pretty.  I did several colors but wanted to use this one for Color Hues.
The big white flower and leaves are made with Sizzix Corsage die (retired). I cut the flower center from Granny Apple Green card and added a fancy rhinestone (Hobby Lobby) for some bling.  The sentiment is from SU Labeled With Love and cut with a stitched oval die,  I mounted the oval with foam tape.

I am sharing at the Color Hues Challenge - Green & White.

and to the Double D Challenge - Going Green

I will also link this one to Darnell's NBUS as this is the first time I have use the press plate and the dies.

Thanks Lisa, I will add this to the JUGS challenge - dies - birthday

Thanks so much for stopping by.  Have a wonderful day.

Joy to the World for Color Hues

Hello friends.  I made a Christmas card for the Color Hues Challenge to use Red and Metallic Gold.

I just received the Sizzix Tim Holtz Joy/Noel die set and wanted to play with it.  I die cut the base layer of Joy from gold foil and the top layer from SU Real Red.  To the world was done on my computer and glued across the center.  I mounted Joy with foam tape to a panel embossed with Spellbinders Holly & Foliage EF.  I used a gold water color to paint over the holly berries and added 2 holly leaves cut from gold foil with a Spellbinders die.  Added the white panel to a Real Red mat and then to my card base.

I will also link to Darnell's NBUS as this is the first time using the new dies.

New Christmas Card

Hello friends.  It is never too early to start making Christmas cards for next year so I have made a card with a new to me die, Tim Holtz Seasonal Sketch,  I saw so many pretty cards on Pinterest made with this die, so naturally I had to get it.  I didn't get a chance to use it on my cards for this year but will definitely be using it a lot in 2023.

I started with a 4-1/4 x 5-1/2 panel of white card stock and blended Pine Needles DOI over the lower section blended up to the upper left.  I then embossed this panel with Spellbinders Loops EF and mounted it to the card base.  I die cut the flower layers from pink and gold foil and glued them together.  The leaves are cut from green card by Recollections from Michael's, and gold foil.  I glued the layers together and then snipped them apart to place them where I wanted to under the pretty flowers (poinsettias).  Impression Obsession Peace die is cut from gold foil and glued to the top section.

I will link to Darnell's NBUS as this is the first time I have used this die set.

Happy Anniversary

Hello friends.  Today I have an anniversary card to share.  I made this for my sister and brother-in-law's anniversary yesterday

ETA:  My card was chosen as one of the Watercooler Rockers at the Watercooler Wednesday Challenge.

.

I used a Sizzix Tim Holtz die on the white panel and laid it over MFT Woodgrain Whimsy paper in a pretty blue color.  I stamped the sentiment from SU Many Mates set.  The flowers are fussy cut from the new SU True Love DSP (available Jan. 5th - this paper is so pretty with several sheets of black & white flowers and also lovely patterns).  I colored the flowers with Flirty Flamingo Blends and the leaves with Granny Apple Green Blends.  I glued the flowers together, overlapping them a little, and then mounted them with foam tape.  I really like the light blue and pink together.

I will link this to the Watercooler Wednesday Challenge - Anything Goes

Happy Birthday for a friend

Hello friends.  Today I am sharing a card I made for a friend who likes purple.  I used PTI Gran's Garden set and SU Perfect Plum ink and pattern paper.
To stamp the flowers I used Perfect Plum for both layers but stamped off once for the lighter base layer and full strength for the top layer.  The dotted centers are SU So Saffron ink and the leaves are SU Wild Wasabi.  I die cut the images with the matching dies and mounted one flower with foam tape over the other one which is glued to the base.  The white panel is die cut with a Sizzix Tim Holtz die. The sentiment is from SU Rose Wonder set.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  I hope you have a wonderful day.

Just Us Girls #300 challenge - Congratulations

Just Us Girls is celebrating their 300th challenge and this week it is a word theme and the word is "Congratulations".

For my card I used the 3 adorable animals from Verve's To The Moon.  I stamped them in Memento Tuxedo Black ink, colored them with Promarkers, and fussy cut them out.  The sentiment is from MFT's Grand Greetings and was perfect for this occasion.  I stamped it in Memento ink and rounded the corners with an EK Success punch.  The DSP is from an older retired SU pack.  The card base and mats are from MFT Sno Cone CS.  The white panel is embossed with Sizzix Stars & Swirls EF.  The sentiment and animals are mounted with foam tape.

I am also entering this in Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge - "Going Dotty" as there are dots in the swirls of the EF and also the spots on the giraffe, sorta.

I used SU Cherry Cobbler and Sizzix Tattered Poinsettia for the flower.  I cut 2 each of the smaller layers and added dimension to the petals with my stylus.  The DSP is from an older retired SU Christmas pack and matted with SU Chocolate Chip CS.

I am also entering my card in the Merry Monday Christmas Challenge - add sparkle, shimmer and/or bling on your card, as I added bling to my poinsettia and in the upper right corner.

Good Sunday Morning my friends.  It is time for a new challenge at Christmas Card Challenges and this week we have "anything goes"  I hope you will join us.

The card base and tag are SU Very Vanilla.  I cut the tag with Spellbinders Grommet Tags die and stamped the greeting from Inspired by Stamping Festive Frames set.  The DSP is from the Merry Merry 12x12 pad by The Paper Studio.  I used a die from MFT Blueprints 20 die set to cut it out.  The flower is made with Sizzix Tim Holtz Tattered Poinsttia.  I cut it out of some music print paper and sponged the layers with SU Cherry Cobbler and Daffodil Delight inks.  I cut out an 1 extra large layer and sponged with Old Olive and Daffodil Delight inks for the leaves.  I added a large gold rhinestone to the center and mounted it with foam tape.  The sentiment is also mounted with foam tape and I added some sheer green ribbon through the ends.

This is my 2nd post today.  I got my card done for Merry Monday #129  - use neon colors on your Christmas card.
I don't know if you can see it but the tree, star and mats are cut from DCWV Glitzy Brights and looks real pretty in person.  I cut the tree with Sizzix Christmas Tree #2 and colored the tree trunk with a brown Sharpie marker.  I used SU rhinestones and colored them with Sharpie markers to match the colors. The DSP is from Simple Stories DIY Boutique 6x6 pad.  The stripe paper had just the right colors in it.   The sentiment is from Inspired By Stamping Festive Frames.  The card base is MFT Smooth White CS.

Dynamic Duos #89 - Subtly Yours Week

Good Saturday Morning my stamping friends. It is time for a new Dynamic Duos challenge and it is "Subtly Yours" week with the colors Pistachio Pudding and Blushing Bride.

Unfortunately I needed a sympathy card and these soft colors were perfect for the occasion.  My card base is Pistachio Pudding, then a mat of Whisper White and a panel of Blushing Bride DSP.  I used the SU Framelits Labels Collection for the main panel, stamped the En Francis background in Crumb Cake ink and fussy cut the Crumb Cake Mat.  The flower is from my new Sizzix/Hero Arts Stamp & Die set. I inked the flower in Blushing Bride and the stem in Pistachio Pudding, stamped it on Whisper White CS and then die cut it with the matching framelit die.  It is mounted with foam dimensionals.  The sentiment from Verve's New Mercies is stamped in Crumb Cake ink and punched with SU Large Oval punch. I sponged some ink around the edges and mounted it with foam dimensionals.

Now hop on over to the Dynamic Duos blog and check out all the fabulous creations by my fellow Design Team members.  I hope you can play along with us this week.

Thanks for stopping by.
