Flower Tags

 Hey stampers, Anni here!

Today I have some gift tags for you!

After all these Christmas cards I was so ready to colour some flowers. It was the birthday of good friend of mine. Our present to her from us were some plants so I decided to make some flower gift tags.

  • I love tags! They are easy to make and make every gift special.
  • If needed you can turn tags easy into a card.
  • It doesn't need much to create them: a focal point and a sentiment because you only have limited space.
  • I coloured the flowers using watercolour pencils. It's a medium I haven't used in a while and I enjoyed bringing them back. They combine the look of watercolour but you can use the pencil without water to add details.

Merry Christmas

Hey stampers, Anni here!

Today I have a simple and easy to make Christmas card for you.

Have you seen the latest release? So many cute products. When I saw the little reindeer from the set "Oh du Fröhliche" and the one from "Peeking" I knew I had to bring them together on one card.

  • To achieve some dimension with die cut sentiments cie cut a few (4 to 5) and stack them. And it's a great way to use up your scraps.
  • I love sentiments with shadow included. You can set much more focus on the sentiment using the shadow.
  • When you combine big sentiments with little creatures you can make a card that takes no time at all.
  • Kraft, cream and red is one of my favourite colour combos for Christmas.

Last Days of Summer

Hi stampers, Anni here!

I know, I know! It's the first day of September but I can't let go summer yet.

Recently I started to colour a few images at once. I love to dive into the colouring. So I had the mouse in my stash and that was my starting point.

  • As my mouse was already coloured I chose the colours for the background from that colour scheme.
  • I added a very light layer of the colours by ink blending. Then I used a stencil and added more of the same colours.
  • The card seemed a little bit empty. So I went through my stash and looked for some beach accessoires. It always adds more intrest when you add some smaller images to your scene.

Create a Smile had an amazing release last Friday. Have you seen all the awesome new products? Hop over and treat yourself!

Mother's Day Card

 Hi stampers, Anni here!

In Germany it's Mother's Day next sunday. So I made a card for my mum.

I am in  love with the latest release and of course I wanted to play with the set Growing Garden. I love the unique look of the set with all the lines. And I tried something new to me: I stamped the flowers in reds and pinks. So it is somehow a no line colouring effect but you can still see the lines. Do you know what I mean?

  • As I said I stamped the flowers in pinks and reds and the leaves in green. Than I coloured them with matching pencils and darkening up the lines a little bit more.
  • For the sentiment I die cut the letters a few times and stacked up them up to achieve some dimension.
  • I love the subtle effect of tone on tone die cuts.
  • Sometimes I find it hard to arrange flowers. An easy way is to put them behind a strip of paper.

Birthday Flowers

 Hey stampers, Anni here!

Between all the Christmas cards we are seeing on the internet right now I am sharing a birthday card.

I wanted to make a birthday card for a good crafty friend and I was in the mood for watercolouring. My favourite images for watercoöours are föowers. So I went for the Doodle Flowers set.

  • I love no line colouring. With this technique you get a totally new look from your stamps.
  • Stamp with a very light ink. This way you can not see the lines later.
  • Contrast is the key word for no line coloring: Make the shadows really dark and keep some areas really light. Don't be shy - the contrats brings your colouring to life.
  • I strt with watercolours but later I love to use coloured pencils for the shadows. With pencils I have way more control than a brush.

Snowman Bakery

 Hey stampers, Anni here!

I am back on the blog with a brandnew Christmas card.

I love all the snowman stamps and this one is especially cute- because - hey, I mean, a snowman baking.
So I knew I wanted to use this stamp set. And I recently saw this colour combo I am not sure where! But i think I like it: red and aqua is a classic for Christmas. And the yellow adds the ectra little something something.

  • If you want to create a background using a stencil I like to blend some ink on the cardstock before I use the stencil. That way you get a much more softer look.
  • No line colouring is a great technique to get a whole new look from your stamps.
  • Try to remember the colour combos you see and like - where ever this maybe: in a magazine, in clothes or in furniture. inspiration is everywhere!

Every other wednesday starts a new challenge with an awesome prize to win.
