Calendar Girls Blog Group February Challenge

Hi everyone! It's the 28th of the month and time to share my Calendar Girls Blog Group February Challenge card!

Miss February is Kelly. She invited us to a Ball and this was her challenge for us:

Hear ye, hear ye! By royal proclamation …… I Welcome you all to Ms. February’s Ball!
Each of you beautiful belles – our lovely Calendar Girls - are cordially invited to the Calendar Girls Ball! It’s a month of love, admiration, and red hearts, my lovelies!

What will you wear to this ball? More like what will your CARD wear?! This month – fabulous Calendar Girls,- show us your STYLE! Your card should reflect a representation of what your dream dress would be and the moment each of you beauties walks into the ballroom, we’ll be dazzled by what you (your card!) has on!

1. Challenge 1 -- What’s your style?! will your card be sleek, sexy and black?
Will it be a pink and frilly with flowers? Lavendar and lace?
Will it have Bows? Buttons all down the back? Your card should speak for itself with it’s colors and style!

2. Challenge 2 -- Show us your true colors at this ball! Add your favorite color somewhere to your card.

3. Challenge 3 -- Shape up for this ball!! On the same card, you must use a SHAPE somewhere on your card! Make your regular card but add a Big-shotted, Cuttlebugged, hand cut out shape to your card.

Well....after many different ideas and dress changes, here is my card:

This card can be taken 2 different ways.....it could be the back of a wedding dress, or it could be the back of a racey nightie....you decide ☺

My style: Unpredictable. I have no "real" style. I do what I feel like that day. If I wake up and feel "sassy" I may create something in bright vivid colors. If I wake up cranky I may work in black or browns. There is never a typical day for me, and each day is so different from the last!

My favorite color: Navy Blue ☺

My shape: We won't talk about my shape ☺.....but the one I used for this card was the Modern Label Punch and matching Movers and Shapers die from Stampin' Up.

Thank you all for looking. I hope you like my interpretation of this months challenge! Can't wait to see what all the other Calendar Girls are wearing!! You can also check them out buy clicking the links in my left sidebar!

It's a Mystery #3

Hi everyone! Today is the deadline for the Mystery Swap over at SCS. With our last cards we also got the images needed for this time around. Gael picked out this adorable image for us to use:

The stamp is from the Artful Inkables "Think Big" set. I colored her in with Copics, cut her out with Oval Nesties, put her on a mat of SU Tempting Turquoise, then on a mat of DP by The Paper Studio and finally on a card base of SU Pink Passion. I added some ribbon and crystals to finish it off!

OK...it's Tami's turn.....can't wait to see what she sends!!!

Thanks for looking!

Dueling Darlings Duel #7 - February

Good Morning! Happy Belated Valentine's Day!

It's that time again....Dueling Darling time! I can't believe that this is the 7th month already!!

This months kit was put together by April....and the theme, perfect for today is "LOVE".

April sent us some really cool stuff, that at first scard me to death. I am not a glittery kind of person so the black glitter paper was a bit intimidating. I had no idea how to use it and almost skipped it altogether without a thought. But then I had the idea that I brought to life above.

I used my embossing ink pen to trace the Love image and used some black glittery embossing powder to heat emboss the image to match the glittery paper. Here is a close up, hope you can see the glitter (it's difficult to take a picture and see what I can see in real life):

On the card I also used the silver shiney paper as a mat to the "love" image and 2 of the 3 ribbons in the kit. In the corners I used the half pearls that match perfectly to the card base I chose :-)

Thank you April for a fun kit that scared me, and made me work out of my comfort zone :-) I need that every once in awhile!

Thank for looking! ♥ all you Darlings!!!
