Card Kit Swap - Card #7 - Pansy

Hi!

This card was made from the kit Pansy sent. I have to tell you that in the kit there were snowflakes cut from soda cans! Very cool, but I could not use them on my card. The image is big on it's own (thank you for the stamp).....so adding the snowflakes would have made my card huge! I will use them, I promise!!

Here it is:

Isn't it cute?? Love the snowmen!! I colored the scarves to match the pink and blue in the paper and used the silver ribbon! I may have to make more of these....and matching envelopes since this card is 4 1/2 x 6 1/2 inches!

Thanks for looking!

I am on time for the Duel!

It's Duel time again! Here is this month's challenge:

Your August kit is filled with friendliness! Carol and I went with the theme:

"Friends are the Family You Pick Yourself"

We are so happy to call you all our friends. We've been dueling for 4 years now!
My image, the mouse and turtle, just went right along with the theme I thought. Friends of a different kind helping each other out! We darlings are all different but it works! I'm so glad it does!

Image: Whimsy Stamps "I Will Carry You"
Paper: Recollections & Sassafras
Ribbon: Michael's
Buttons: My Favorite Things
Pearls and Brads: from my stash
I cut the clouds and embossed them with my Cricut & Big Shot.

I hope you have fun working with this kit. Big HUGS!
Melina

Here is my card:

I am usually late with my cards, I try not to be but I am. I am very glad that this great group of ladies accepts me for who I am and allows me to remain part of the group. Thank you Dazzlers and Divas!!

Thanks for stopping by!!

Calendar Girls - June

Hi everyone! I am finally posting my Calendar Girls card for the month of June.

Here are the details:

Hostess: Deb

Since we are the CALENDAR Girls I was thinking we should make cards that reflect the months of the year or days of the week.

I found these sayings about a few of the months:

Slow as Molasses in January
January Brings a New Year
Beware the Ides of March (William Shakespeare "Julius Caesar")
March, In Like a Lion Out Like a Lamb
April Showers Bring May Flowers
June is Bustin' Out All Over (Oscar Hammerstein)
July Fireflies Bring August Skies
September Leaves Gives Chance for October Scares

And here are some yearly days of the week.:

Fat Tuesday
Black Friday
Good Friday
Palm Sunday

So the challenge is to make a card that reflects your interpretation of one of the above sayings about the months or one of the four listed days. (Maybe you know another saying about months of the year you like. You can use that saying.)

In your blog post let us know what saying or day your card reflects.

And here is my card. I went "loosely" with "April Showers bring May Flowers". The sentiment contains the word STORM (translates to "April Showers") and I added a flower that I put together from a kit I had (and that is the "May Flowers" part).

I hope this meets the requirements of the challenge Debbie!

Thank you for stopping by!

Calendar Girls - April (I'm a lot late)!

Hi everyone!! I am late for the April posting of our Calendar Girls cards. This year has been crazy busy and hopefully it will begin to slow down soon!

Here is the challenge for April:

Hostess: Carol

For your challenge this month I thought quite a bit about the challenge. As you know, we will be posting after Easter so with that in mind I thought I'd do a Mothers Day challenge. When I was a child my mom would encourage my dad to get little carnation corsages in pink or red for each of us girls and mom to wear to church on Mothers Day. According to her (and the intranet), if a woman's mother was alive the females in the family would don a red or pink flower (mostly carnations, but not a rule) and if her mom had passed, the female would wear a white flower, and would visit the grave of her mom and place a white carnation on her grave. My mom's dad would do this when she was a child and mom loved the tradition. What I would like you to do this month is create a card or project using the color that would describe your mom. As an extra I would like for you to share a special memory of your mom from when you were little (if you are comfortable with that) so we can learn a bit about the wonderful ladies who raised such beautiful paper crafters...

Here is my creation:

I chose to make this card to honor my Mother-in-law. She loves pink and she loves flowers.....this card has both! What's cool is that this card actually folds to almost flat. It could be flat but I used bulky flowers for the bouquet. I am going to need to make a special envelope to hold this card since it is so fat! I really love how it turned out.

Thank you for stopping by! See you again within the next few days......I have also caught up on the June and July cards too :-)
