...for a bit. Catching the plane at 10.10am from LHR tomorrow morning and so all packed and ready(?) to go.  I'm an art journalling novice and this is probably something which would be better made into a journal page than a card (who am I going to send it to), but I made a card to mark my journey and 5 months away in Australia which is coming up.  I most likely won't be crafting while I am away (20 kg is just too small to allow me to include craft stash as well as clothes and other essentials for 5 months), or at least not card making.  I might try my hand at digital scrapbooking and/or I have packed quite a lot of cross stitch to keep me busy in the evenings.  But of course I am going all that way to work on the final stages of my PhD and it would be a shame not to have a bit of a look round too, so spare time might be in short supply...
I am back in the Uk on 31st May and will probably hit the craft 'table' like made then to make up for lost time! (and as a distraction/to keep me sane in the months of 'thesis writing').  Keep in touch xxx

Another birthday card- this time for my Dad.  I have used a Winston DigiStamp Boutique image again, along with this weeks Sweet Sketch Wednesday sketch.  I will also enter the card into this weeks Cute Card Thursday (anything goes) and Passion for Promarkers ('happy' birthday) challenges.

I have been meaning to make a 30th birthday card for my brother for a while.  His birthday isn't until May, but I have to make it before I go away in 7 days time!

I decided to use this DigiStamp Boutique image today for the first time.  I have made my own background in part with a bit of distressing and faux tearing.

Another of those Lily of the Valley cat images this time using this weeks Cute Card Thursday sketch.  I will also enter the card into this weeks Passion for Promarkers challenge (in the garden- lots of flowers).

This months CCAYR challenge was either to use a traditional image with non traditional colours or vice versa.  I have been pondering on this for a long time now and I think I may have hit the answer today.  I don't think a dog ice skating is a 'traditional Christmas image' but I have teamed it with green and red colours- traditional: BINGO.

Being away from home for 4 weeks has been a long time for me and so I it was 'home sweet home' (apart from sorting out the heating, water, oven, power cut, mouldy milk my brother had left in the fridge, cleaning, washing....)

The challenge this month on Ready Teddy Go is make a project with a teddy bear using the colours pink, brown and cream.  I have made these two ATCs:

Gosh the summer seems to be flying, but I guess it is half way through August now.  School and school holidays are long in the past for me but my friend is going to start a teacher training position in September and so I made her a good luck card today.  I thought I was break from the usual and made a pyramid card- been a while but I made quite a few this time last year.  I enjoyed it and so must make some more!
